Oregon has played three ranked opponents; Texas, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Missouri, Florida, and Mississippi State have played two ranked opponents. With nine teams ranked, it's not surprising to see that the SEC has played the most T-25 vs. T-25 games. 2nd-ranked Georgia at No. 7 Alabama and No. 21 UCLA at No. 13 Oregon are the Week 6 T-25 vs. T-25 games.

  11. Thank you, David, terrific post-nap update. It's great to see Dan reach out for help, in this case, from the 2025-26 Super Bowl winner and champion. As you noted, the O-Line is coming along. Hopefully the off week will help Perich 'get it.' Saturday will be a fistfight. OBD has to match the Bruins' intensity. Under Chesney, I expect UCLA will battle for the full 60 minutes. Thanks again, David, and Go Ducks!

  13. Oregon 41, USC 27 in the Coliseum — and the defense is starting to turn the corner. Sacks, real pressure on the quarterback, winning on first down, and taking away Lincoln Riley's bread-and-butter counter game with the "dent" technique. Eric breaks down the film: the two-trap coverage looks, the disguised empty-check blitz that finally got home, linebackers playing downhill, and the communication fixes still needed against an explosive USC offense. 14. Polls before 1st November (IMHO) are to have fans and pundits "engage" in the very exact discussions that this thread embodies. Not good or bad, but truly meaningless unless the polling that DOES matter is effected in any way by all these "pre polls". Just Win Babe....and the polls that matter will reflect your position. Go Quackers!
  15. Greybeard here, but I remember the time that ANY mention or eluding to O/U, PT. Spread, or gambling references of ANY kind was grounds for being Fired by the respective broadcasting entity. Now there are "gambling/investing(lol, yeah right) shows on ALL broadcast entities, tv, radio, internet. dedicated and instructing on how to bet this weeks games. Yeah I'm sure there is NO compromise happening behind the scenes. 🙄 Yay Capitalism! EVERYTHING has got to be "profitable". (Even when someones' have to Lose for it to be so.) Oh well...keep my narrow fandom focus on OBD! GO DUCKS!
  16. Marsh Duck Monday and I hope you all had a lovely bye week. Should We Expect Changes for Oregon After the Bye-Week?Oregon has the talent to be one of the best teams in the country.
  17. Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning joins George Wrighster on the Unafraid Show to discuss Dante Moore’s recovery, why Oregon won’t rush its quarterback back onto the field, and how the Ducks’ “next man up” culture prepared another quarterback to step into the moment. Lanning explains why he will always choose the player over the team when health is involved and why Oregon still has major room to improve. Lanning also breaks down what changed for Oregon following the Oklahoma State game, how the Ducks use the bye week to self-scout, and why modern college football may require teams to develop throughout the season rather than dominate every opponent from Week 1. He previews UCLA, discusses the similarities he sees between UCLA and Indiana, and explains how his previous experience against Bob Chesney’s teams factors into Oregon’s preparation. George and Lanning also get into Oregon’s special teams, recruiting strategy, the player salary ticker inside Lanning’s office, Oregon’s cinematic game recaps, new uniforms, Marcus Mariota, Bo Nix and the former Ducks succeeding at the next level. Lanning even admits his USC and Chris Brown comment may have been a little petty. If you follow Dan Lanning, Dante Moore, Oregon Ducks football, Oregon vs UCLA, Big Ten football or the College Football Playoff race, this conversation gives an inside look at how Lanning sees his program right now.
  18. Dan Lanning comes into this week with a real challenge taking on the upstart UCLA Bruins. The Ducks are facing a similar challenge to one they failed to accomplish last year. On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin talks about Dante Moore with his status uncertain going into the UCLA game this week. Plus, why Brandon Finney has arguably been Oregon's best player this year. Oregon's schedule looked like October was going to be the easiest month of the year all things considered. The outlook for the next 4 games has changed considerably. 00:00 Dan Lanning's big game wins 04:47 Oregon vs UCLA football preview 07:03 Analyzing recent college football games 12:25 Confidence in Dylan Raiola's performance 14:14 Dante Moore's decision-making process 20:12 Discussing Oregon's best defensive players 24:44 Underestimating First Games Mistake

  21. Interesting. Very possible, but no one at USC should be packing it in at 4-1 (or now 5-1). 9-3 for USC considering their schedule has Oregon, Ohio State, and Indiana, would seem well within expectations. 1-2 in those three games had to be the reasonable goal (and is still out there for them). USC beating UW means they have a good shot at 8-4, which will have them in the top 25 (which keeps it a top 25 win for Oregon). It will be interesting to see how UW responds. This friday night with Iowa coming to town looms large. If they drop that one, 5-7 definitely seems firmly on the table.
  22. AMEN! The Coaches Poll is the Assistant AD Poll. The AP Poll is a part of college tradition. Even though the rankings are suspect, the poll provides a lot of pre-PO committee ranking debate, pondering, and disagreement. The problem with all of the polls is that strength of schedule, which is supposed to factor into the rankings, always takes a back seat to the Eye Test. There is nothing but the Eye Test that can support Notre Dame and Miami ranked ahead of Ohio State and Bama. Basketball has enough data points with disclosed metrics relied on for the CBB committee to come up with a generally accepted PO field and a generally accepted seeding of the teams in the field. CFB does not have enough data points to cogently determine a 12-team PO field and seed the field. Go to a 24-team CFB PO, which is really a 16-team PO with eight on-campus 1st-round games. Of course, fans of left-out teams 25 and lower will witch, but that comes with the postseason territory.

  24. The low point on this topic for ESPN was about a year ago, when they had Mike Greenberg and some others talking about the dangers of sports gambling, all while the ESPN BET ticker was rolling at the base of the screen. You can’t make it up.
  25. What a complete joke! The voters somehow continue to get worse. Do they even watch these games? Luckily, these votes don’t mean anything because they reek of incompetence. Iowa loses to No. 5 tOSU by 17 points and drops 6 spots. Mississippi State loses to No. 7 Alabama by 33 points at home and drops 1 spot?
  26. I have to disagree with you on this one John. We took USC's best swing (Moore of a sucker punch), they didn't look like the same team against UW or Rutgers. Geoff Schwartz noticed this too. USC may have lost their mojo after the loss which will take the shine off our win much like what happened frequently last year after we beat teams. Not trying to be a homer, it's just what the eye test is telling me. I'm sure we will get UCLA's best effort to, but their ceiling is still lower than USC's hence the spread differential between the two games.
  27. It's an exciting game, our backs are against the wall for basically the rest of the season, UCLA is a very good team, I think the amount of hype is just about right for what they have done, it isn't overblown like Mississippi St. was. I expect both teams to come out with a lot of fire, and I think Duck fans have been picked up by the game last week, I know for myself, I'm no longer worrying about a national title, more looking for effort, how clean we play, how do we improve, more the little things than the big picture.
