  2. I saw that too. The only thing he lacks is breakaway speed, he is really slow, but he's got everything else you look for. I think Hill and Davison's running style are too similar, one cut straight ahead. Some games that will work great, but other games you need the extra lateral agility and vision. Verdell and Dye were an underrated RB duo for that reason that their styles were so different. If one was struggling the other would have success depending on the chemistry between the defensive scheme and the offensive blocking.
  3. Hampton has us sitting 10th in the BIG1 in pass efficiency defense and 39th in the nation on the NCAA site. He also has us sitting 52nd in Total Defense. Tosh had us 7th by Fox Sports metric and 12th by Sports Reference at the end of last year. We've gone from an elite defense to average. NCAA College Football FBS current team Stats | NCAA.com
  4. I think the Vegas line makes sense at -10.5 Ohio State. Coming off a bye week way far on the road as a late game in the rain with a new QB. It was like a bowl game where one team doesn't show up. Now OSU is angry will get back in their groove at home with their backs against the wall to stay in the playoffs. Also we had a new OC, and Patricia now has a week to game plan against him, the NW didn't. I'm pretty sure we will show up this game and play hard, and the OL finally looks up to the task, but some play calling regression by Jay and a poor outing by Raiola is still in the cards. Our biggest hope is for OSU to have another mediocre offensive performance, with our defense playing their best game of the year, learning from what USC did.
  5. I just have to say that this is a great image of Dak in the background. Props to the camera work and to Charles for putting it up!
  6. Odds are stacked against us for a win. OSU has not lost two in a row in conference play since around 2013. Oregon has not won two in a row since entering conference play 2026. Meaningless stats but it's all I got. 😃 I think they have a better chance than MC did in 2021.
  7. After rewatching some highlights. I think the momentum swing happened with the great catch by Jalen Lott on the TD drive just before half. That play was destined to be a bad interception giving the ball back with good field position with a minute or so to go already down 6-20. Instead Lott not only snatches the ball away from the defender but snatched the teams mojo back from the trash bin. After that play Raiola went back to USC form delivering strikes all over the field as the offense finally came back to life. A tale of two halves. A tale of two teams and I think that play was the dividing line. Great game. Go Ducks!
  8. Excellent point. The adversity is hitting the coaches hardest, because it's blatantly obvious the underperformance this year is all their fault. The talent is here to have been 8-0, but instead it's 5-3.
  9. Yes I think a loss to Oregon would end their playoff hopes. It would probaly put them up against a possible 3 loss Texas, Ol Miss, and/or Alabama. Plus no Big 10 champ game.
  10. I love the optimistic outlook on this........ True, loyal ODB fans will appreciate that optimism. Those that jumped off the bandwagon, not so much. Sometimes obstacles are too difficult to overcome. Or the odds are stacked too heavy in the other direction. Just a few things need to happen to make this a reality. First, somebody needs to beat Indiana to hang that 2nd loss on the Hoosiers. Go USC???? Second, somebody needs to beat Illinois, so they have a 3rd loss. Third, the Ducks must win out. OBD's strength of schedule will be critical in tie breakers. UCLA must win out. A 2 point, self inflicted loss to a top 5 team will strengthen the Ducks schedule number. This is a possible scenario in this years chaos in college football. The only intangible in my mind is how up are the players to do the one thing that is in their control? Win out. I would love this to happen for a few reasons. First and foremost for DL, the staff, the players and the loyal fans. Second, i would enjoy asking my so called Duck fan friends why they gave up on OBD's. The team hasn't quit, why have the fans? My son, who lives just outside of Dallas, Texas, flies out for each home game. My friends felt it wasn't worth driving down from Portland......GEEZ Go Ducks! Prove them doubters, wrong! Last night's team effort can beat any team the Ducks play.
  11. Today

  12. If we win out, we need help in this way: Indiana has one conference loss, so we need them to accumulate one more. A loss to USC would be fabulous (which I think is their next game) because that puts them at 2 conference losses. Both would be to teams that we have beaten so OBD would own the tiebreaker. UCLA has no losses and would own the head to head against us, I "think" they would have to drop 3 of their next 4. Again, moot point if OBD doesn't win out, but there is some hope to be had!

  14. Win out and hope that either UCLA or Indiana collapses.

  16. He also made some great blocks picking up blitzing line backers!
  17. This was the best I've seen the offensive line play. Maybe it just took them a little time to gel together. In any case Raiola is not a create on the run, the pressure doesn't bother me kind of QB. The game plan was to keep the pressure away from him and it worked. He responded. The first 3/8 of the game they looked like UCLA/ILL the next 5/8 they looked like the team we expected before the season began. Can they be that 5/8 of the game team 8/8 of the game from here on out. If so, we can escape this season with only one more loss. I don't dare say we can beat OSU yet. We know what Raiola can do when comfortable and not pressured constantly. If this continues, you build next year's offense to that strength.
  18. Raiola started playing well about the same time Brandon Smith entered the game and started making big runs. It’s amazing how a good running game can open up the passing game. Smith has the best vision out of all the RB’s on the team and he needs more playing time. I imagine if Davison and Hill’s injuries are serious then he will be RB1 and we could see some transfers this Spring.
  19. Another perspective from the Daily Emerald. Daily EmeraldOregon beats No. 20 Northwestern 34-26 in Halloween shoot...“I can’t say enough about how proud I am of this team,” Oregon quarterback Dylan Raiola said following Saturday’s 34-26 upset win over No. 20 Northwestern. Capturing the win wasn’t easy from the start
  20. Don’t tear up those tickets to Indianapolis just yet! We just experienced an October stretch that felt like a certified nightmare. The team felt like it was in chaos, the ship was rudderless, and all that was left was to smack the proverbial iceberg! Now, I'm NOT saying everything is fixed, far from it. But watching college football this weekend showed me that there is no "unbeatable" team out there. Miami BARELY survived UNC. Yes, Miami is undefeated, but they have yet to play a ranked opponent!!! Oregon’s win over Northwestern, combined with a little Big Ten chaos, has left the door cracked open for a run at the Big Ten title game. At 3-2 in conference play, the Ducks are still mathematically alive. The margin for error is exactly zero, but the roadmap is clear. Here is what Oregon needs to do to keep the dream alive: 1. Beat the Buckeyes The path starts with a only a simple task: defeating Ohio State on their own turf next weekend. Thanks to USC, Ohio State now has a blemish in conference play. If Oregon pulls off the upset, they will jump the Buckeyes in the standings and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. 2. Run the November Gauntlet Beating Ohio State means nothing if the Ducks stumble afterward. Oregon must win out against Michigan, Michigan State, and Washington to finish the regular season at 7-2 in Big Ten play. 3. Let the "Strength of Schedule" Math Do the Work If Oregon finishes 7-2, they will likely find themselves in a multi-team tiebreaker scenario with programs like Indiana, USC, or Ohio State. Oregon's grueling schedule becomes their secret weapon. The Big Ten's tiebreaker heavily weighs the cumulative conference win percentage of a team's opponents. Because the Ducks have played one of the toughest schedules in the nation, their metric profile gives them a massive statistical edge to win a tiebreaker and potentially schedule that Indy trip. The climb is steep, we don't have much to pin "hope" on right now, and interim play-caller Jay Johnson's newly energized offense will have to be perfect. However, We don't need to be first, we just need to be good enough to get there. Maybe, just maybe, this October nightmare will be something that OBD wake up from and realize that they control their own destiny.
  21. Miami will face their FIRST ranked opponent of the season next week against ND. Their First!! ESPN puts their schedule difficulty at 60. By comparison, Oregon's is 13th. The Ducks have a MOUNTAIN to overcome to sniff the CFP....but as we all know, anything can happen in college football.
  22. The offensive play calling improved this week. Ducks defense left a lot of receivers uncovered. Hope that gets fixed in a hurry.
  23. Ohio St has great receivers, powerful RBs and a stout O line. The Ducks have a lot of future NFL players on defense, so that matchup can hold up. Can the Ducks move the ball on them? Maybe. Ohio St no longer has a great pass rush or D line like they used to. I think Oregon has a chance. As for knocking teams out of the playoffs, so many top teams are either losing or almost losing, there really is no front runner(s). This is the new age of college football. Most division games will be tough to win. Get used to it. It applies to everybody. I think who makes the playoffs will be who looks good the last week or two, regardless of record.
  24. Columbus didn't give up the ship, and Dan isn't ready to go down with the ship. Last time Dylan was in Columbus, he was this close to a Husker Do and having a great Day. Rally around the good Raiola, and kick the ship out of the Buckeyes before saying: 'Goodbye, Columbus, we're heading home to mash That School Up North.' 👍👌😍 9-3 playoff-worthy? This season, you never know.
  25. Gimme 5 Takeaways from a great comeback win today. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/31/oregon-football-ducks-comeback-win-northwestern-takeaways/92542158007/
  26. Ohio State is favored by 10.5. Vegas is saying Ohio State 30 Oregon 17. This follows the trend of the past 3 years. Max protect among other devices to attack Ohio State downfield is an absolute minimum. And the only way I see OBD winning is by striking downfield like Lanning went after the Buckeyes in Eugene. I also recommend 5 guys on the line of scrimmage on defense. Force Ohio State to pass and come with simulated pressure and as lethal a blitz package DL can devise. Of course, pressure on whoever plays QB is an absolute must-OBD just don't play very good pass defense. My opinion of course. As far as I am concerned, DL can do whatever he wants. He runs the ship and I am not about to mutiny. I just hope he is aggressive and gives Ohio State more than they are used to seeing. Ohio State has been more physical than OBD the past 3 years. OBD will have to neutralize that by hook and crook. But Vegas is seeing what I have seen since February. Our trend against elite teams that is.
