  2. We have Akili who may be a better version of Underwood already, and with Saleapaga and the Oregon State QB out there we have way better adjacent options than Underwood.
  3. I heard those rumors too....and too much risk for me!
  4. No sweat, and I agree with you about Wyatt.
  5. Maybe because Chesney offered to look after Dante Moore in the hospital. A little too directly related for Dan to be coy about it. I'm not going to question Chesney 's motives, but it is certainly to UCLA's advantage to keep the bulletin board material for Dan and the Ducks to a minimum.
  6. Rumors to Oregon? There is a connection with Moore being frome Detroit also.
  7. Yea, I meant Nasir Wyatt. My bad. I Was thinking about Purchase when I was writing that out. Faulty wiring
  8. Seems like we could have ridden with the "questionable" right up until just before kick-off. Not sure why we didn't!
  9. It is that time of the week again to have fun with our game prediction contest! Guesses on other threads don't count--only those here, and only those completely filled out with the tiebreakers. Let's have fun with it as we have so many years in the past... Let me know: --Which team wins: --Score: --How many turnovers created by Oregon? --How many sacks of the opponent by Oregon? --How many passing yards by Oregon? My prediction of Oregon vs. UCLA: Oregon 45-30 1 0 372
  10. He left via the portal last spring. David, you gave us something good to watch for, as Mike West has been suggesting this also to slow the run-game down. My thanks!
  11. There are a lot of combinations you can play with and this team has a ton of talent. Purchase should be a staple using a five man front with Jackson spying Nico. Jackson is fast and strong enough to get Nico in the dirt. I think Flowers is beter than KP in run D imo. I would use him some in early downs to mix it up and crowd the box. He is a good tackle. Finney? Finney is a great tackler and not shy of contact. Incrediblyathletic and plays with some violence for a natural corner. I think a five man front early downs, mostly 1st, is key to getting contain on the edges and keeping Nico honest. Ducks can trust the corners and Finney in man on first down imo. Open up some bodies for the run D a bit. I think Ify is going to be 1 team B1G and all american this year. He is playing really good football.
  12. Today

  13. Exactly. Why do we tell them ahead of time?!
  14. Please correct me if I am wrong but I remember last year that Trey McNutt was pushing for a big role before he got hurt. Was it an injury that could take a year plus to get back to full strength? Did it cost him some quickness? Just wondering why he has not been on the 2 deep or even talked about. Is Jett Washington that much better?
  15. Not good. Looks like safety Aaron Flowers could miss Saturday's game. https://www.centraloregondaily.com/sports/oregon_ducks/what-were-hearing-on-oregon-injuries-ahead-of-ucla/article_ba75d467-d4fc-5831-b32a-186f5f3eca8d.html
  16. Thank you, David. A line of scrimmage and a 60-minute game for certain. This will be the most talented roster UCLA has faced, by far. I hope the offense can put points on the board early and get UCLA out of its run game. This season, Nico is also part of the Bruins' run game. Perich plays better, or bring in the Jett, Jett Washington. Integrate Jett with the starting D. Inferior safety play will be a problem Saturday and against Nebraska and Northwestern, and it gives OBD no chance to win, with a chance of being embarrassed at Ohio State. We saw enough of Jeremiah Smith blowing past Oregon's DBs his Freshman season in the Rose Bowl. 🤬 Enjoy your day off and Go Ducks!
  17. I could go on one of my soliloquies. I won't. If Bob Chesney was USC's coach, we would have lost to the Trojans. Fortunately, Chesney has the talent the level of Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers and Cal. So for me, this is about fundamental, proper use of technique to win this game. It's time to go back to those basics and instilling a mentality that OBD lack: an Assassin's attitude. This should be week one creating that kind of team. Strategy and scheme are secondary in my opinion. And yes, I will drop a piece about that before Saturday.
  18. I'd also like to see the safeties brought in closer to help cover the middle. Also it would be great for the LBs and DBs to stop staring at the opposing QB and pay attention to the receivers (as @Mike West has harped on many times).
  19. 20. Dylan Raiola's calm leadership easing Oregon's transition at QB https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/08/oregon-football-dylan-raiola-leadership-qb-transition-dante-moore-evan-stewart/92125203007/
  21. Let's hope we do not lose any players over this. Oregon Ducks to keep an eye on as potential transfer portal departuresAltman's surprise retirement announcement has a chance to shake up the roster once more. Per NCAA rules, when a head coach is fired, moves onto another job or retires, players are given a two-week window to enter the transfer portal. The portal will soon open for members of the Ducks' 2026-27 roster to depart from the program and join another program, though it would be clouded with uncertainty for both sides as the season tips off in less than a month. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/mens-basketball/2026/10/08/oregon-mens-basketball-potential-transfer-portal-departures/92138469007/
  22. This pretty much validates the current state of college sports. In this nutty world of NIL, the amount of sheer effort needed to build and retain rosters is both mentally and physically exhausting more than ever...making this a young man's game. That makes it so much more difficult to build a winning program as you need coaches that both have the energy to keep up but also has enough years of relevant experience to win on the court/field. Dana just couldn't keep up any more and I don't blame him.
  23. Not surprising. While it could have been worse, concussions are no joke either so I expect the medical staff to take their time with Dante. I wouldn't be shocked if he's out for up to 4 weeks.
