  1. Past hour

  2. I'm not sure lazy would be the right word for it. I think the program got complacent. Lots of success overall the last several years and internal hires belied the difficulties in replacing both coordinators because they had been with the program for a while.
  3. Not only was Don Essig my principle in high school, he's my current weather man!
  4. I completely agree, and thus my hesitation. Quite different from how I felt in the pre-season!
  5. I hear its supposed to be raining touchdowns. Leaving puddles of Pooh Bear tears.
  6. I was at the North Eugene/ Creswell JV game last evening(My sophomore grandson plays offense and defense). I mentioned to my daughter that the weather was what used to be called Indian Summer. She laughed and said I'd have to call it Indigenous Summer... It's a great time of year in Eugene. Even if it's getting too crowded.
  7. I mentioned in another thread that Lanning is pissed. I think that's true. I think he takes full responsibility for this team also. After the USC game, his eyes changed. His tone changed. Dude is salty for sure. But it's turned inward imo.
  8. I agree LH. I was thinking let the speedster Jackson be a spy and we always have a big body with speed around the ball. Containing passing QBs at the cost of bringing pressure and sacks has not looked good so far but it also might be the best way to contain a dominant run team if the edges can stay discipled and hold the edge instead of always crashing towards the ball. Time for the D to step up and put their stamp on the game.
  9. It would be nice to have Dante back for UCLA, they are top 10 in takeaways. Moore is much better at taking what the D gives him. DR is a little more loosey goosey with the ball.
  10. I know it is last year but look at Nico’s run performance against Penn State. Contain that and we simply out man UCLA everywhere. UCLA will play hard but we would have to be out schemed. We could just about play man in the secondary, spy on Nico and crowd the LOS and blow them out. Our offense should be able grind them down as well. Chesney is a better coach than his talent.
  11. I put both corners and Finney on an island, I have full confidence those 3 can play Man most of the game. Spy Nico with a safety or LB and load the box. get them behind the sticks on 1st and 2nd down and UCLA is done. Oregon was vulnerable the first 2 games. Lanning got embarrassed with the tells. I think Oregon is pissed, and they will be every game from here on out. I see a big win for Oregon. Low 40's Ducks Low 20's UCLA
  12. Today

  13. This game should be easy for OBD's......... Chances are it won't be easy. Why? Because you don't know which Duck defense will show up. Chesney has plenty of film on the Duck Defense tendencies and glaring weaknesses. The Bruins will game plan to take advantage of those weaknesses. The Bruins opponents so far are 8 and 12 for the season. They have not been challenged. OBD's opponents are 12 and 7 and the 3 ranked opponents gave the Ducks all they could handle. I expect the Ducks to win and it should be a high scoring game. All of the Duck's Offensive skilled position starters have the talent to play on Sundays! Have the Bruins faced a team with that much talent? Not even close. The problem is that the Ducks are working to play up tp their potential. If they do, then this will be a 59-27 Duck win...... If not the Ducks will be in a rock fight. More like 38-35. Go Ducks.....
  14. Good on you for seeing it that way. I don't think it will be quite that easy.....
  15. 48-20 Ducks! The Bruin WR’s are only average and we should be able to handle them. Nico is a good QB. Excellent runner so we should put a spy on him. He has a lot of passes blocked at the LOS. Their RB’s are very good but the OL is suspect. They have played a nothing schedule. Is UCLA more talented than USC? Hell no, not anywhere on the field. For UCLA to win Lanning will have to be out schemed. The Ducks are simply better. Cal is decent, Purdue somewhat decent, San Diego State is lousy and Maryland is one of the worst teams in the country. The Bruins have to run to win. Stop that and they are dead meat. Chesney is a heck of a coach but this is not Indiana. Bring the USC effort and this should be a rout.
  16. Saturday looks to be cloudy, with a temperature range of 46 to 62 degrees, which is perfect to play in and watch. It also says that there is 50% chance of rain on Saturday, but it is from 12:00 AM until about 2:30 AM. The chance of rain during the game currently sits at ZERO. Now again, this is from the phone locally in Eugene, and it may change over the next couple of days. Let's keep updates in this thread.... That's What We Need!
  17. Thank you, Charles, for the in-depth look at No. 21 UCLA. Purdue is 2-3, and Barry Odom and the Boilermakers won the first game in two seasons against a Big Ten opponent: 24-17 at Illinois. But other than the thrashing by Notre Dame, Purdue has been competitive, including a double OT loss to 4-1 Wake Forest. FPI predicts Oregon by 14.6 (15) points with an 85% chance to win the game. But a remodeled UCLA has other ideas and will battle for 60 minutes. https://www.yardbarker.com/college_football/articles/weekly_syllabus_big_tens_middle_class_in_the_spotlight_during_massive_week_6_conference_showdowns/s1_13132_44391326?utm_source=mb&utm_mediu

  19. Welcome to the 2026 College Football (CFB) Roller Coaster. One week's euphoria is next week's depression. The 2026 season has been a bipolar experience for Mizzou, Ole Miss, Mississippi, Florida, Ohio State (find a FG kicker!), Penn State, Michigan, Western Michigan😁, Oklahoma State🤬, and OBD fans. Through Week 5, 13 Power 4 teams are undefeated. Some because they're good, some because they're good and the schedule is a joke, and some because of college kicker situations. Ask laid-back Pitt coach Pat 'He's a Dozzy' Narduzzi. A terrific Yahoo Sports article by Dan Wolken on why CFB is experiencing this chaos is linked below. Will the undefeateds continue breaking bread, and if so, will it be Honey Wheat or Sourdough? Odds from DraftKings. Game times Pacific time. FPI - ESPN's Football Power Index - NR = Not Ranked Football gods willing, a look at other Week 6 B1G + Big 12 games coming up. --- Off Week 6 - No. 3 Miami and No. 11 Texas Tech Friday - October 9th - No. 8 BYU -10.5 vs. 3-2 Iowa State - 7:15 PM - ESPN FPI - BYU by 14 - 84% to win The Cougars are 0-0 against the top 25 and struggled to defeat a mediocre TCU 17 to 10 in the Dykes broke, rainy, not Sonny, Dallas on Saturday. One of CFB's best running backs, BYU's LJ Martin, is doubtful for this game. Iowa State running back Aiden Flora was the AP National Player of Week 5, leading the Cyclones to a 45-42 win over West Virginia with 212 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and 2 TDs passing. This could be a Look Out - Look Ahead game for the overrated Cougars and its QB, who has Bearly moved the needle. Next week, No. 3 Notre Dame visits Provo. --- Saturday - October 10th Undefeated vs. Undefeated - No. 7 Indiana -7.5 at NR 5-0 Nebraska - 9 AM Fox FPI - Indiana by 6.9 - 69% to win Matt Ruhle is 2-24 vs. the Top 25; 0-8 at Nebraska Apologies to the computer, but - 7.5 looks like a gift from the football gods and the oddsmakers? With the schedule being roasted, I expect the Fighting Cigs will come out smoking and kick the Cornhuskers in the butts. My gaming friends and I have accepted the gift, waiting to open the package on 10/11. (So take Nebraska -115 on the Moneyline? 🤑) --- No. 2 Georgia +1.5 at No. 7 Alabama - 4:30 ABC FPI - Alabama by 0.9 - 53% to win Because Ohio State can't find the dough to buy an FG kicker without a gag reflex, Texas is No. 1. But this could be the game of the year in the SEC and a preview of the championship game in Atlanta on December 5th. Bama has been Kirby Smart's kryptonite - The Smart One is 2-7 vs. the Crimson Tide, 0-2 in Tuscaloosa. Year to date, Georgia is 2nd in Total Defense; Alabama is 18th Total Offense: Georgia 22nd; Alabama 25th In what amounts to a toss-up game, I like Georgia, behind the better defense and leadership of Senior QB Gunner Stockton, to eke out a victory over Bama and Frosh phenom QB Keelon Russel. Kirby is 1-2 against DeBoer, but the win was in the most recent game, a 2025 SEC champ game beatdown. --- Now, let's look at the B1Ggest Game of the Week. No. 21 UCLA +11.5 at No. 13 Oregon - 12:30 PM CBS FPI - Oregon by 14.6 - 85% to win I went against the computer in UGA vs. Bama - Not in this game. Load the box and make Nico chuck it. --- No. 1 Texas -8.5 vs. NR Oklahoma - Texas State Fairgrounds - Dallas 12:30 PM ABC - FPI - Texas by 14.9 - 85% chance to win But in the Wed Wiver Wilvary, you never know. --- No. 25 Pitt -4.5 vs. 2-2 UNC - 9 AM ESPN FPI - Pitt by 9.1 - 75% to win Pitt's starting QB was injured in the VA Tech game that Pitt should have lost and is out for the season. I like a UNC team that battled for 60 minutes against Notre Dame to win this game. --- No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 12 Utah, and NR Duke will be undefeated heading into Week 7. The Notre Dame schedule has been a joke, and the Massey Ratings ranks the Domers' schedule to-be-played as the 64th 'most difficult' in the nation. https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/college-football-has-never-been-more-chaotic--and-its-fans-are-losing-their-minds-because-of-it-210333664.html Ruin the Bruins and Roast Chesney's Chestnuts!
  20. Yogi and Todd on our Saturday matchup
  21. Hear from Oregon starting offensive lineman Dave Iuli as he breaks down where the Oregon offensive line has seen its development from week one till now. Plus, hear his thoughts on the match-up against UCLA this weekend at home.Hear from Oregon LB Jerry Mixon as he previews this weekend's contest against the UCLA Bruins.
  22. Hear from Oregon defensive tackle A'Mauri Washington as he discusses the team's upcoming game against No. 21 UCLA and where the Ducks are at coming off a bye week.Hear from Oregon starting wide receiver Evan Stewart as he breaks down the Ducks' preperation for UCLA this weekend, the return to practice by Dante Moore, and his thoughts on the Ducks' offense.
  23. Oregon coach Dan Lanning shared that start quarterback Dante Moore was able to attend the team's Monday practice. Whether he'll play this weekend is another story. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/dan-lanning-says-dante-moore-has-returned-to-practice-status-for-ucla-unclear-290927558/
  24. I believe the statement yesterday is that Moore hasn't cleared any return to play protocols yet for returning for a game. I would be shocked if he was back for this week's game.
  25. Lanning's attitude has changed for sure. I think in large part it came from the off season when he got to comfortable. He promoted from within so he knew all his coaches. He had a load of returning starters who knew the scheme. He knew he would have to break in the transfers and the new recruits but with so many other pieces as established that probably didn't feel as pressing. The reality is that he took the foot off the gas and it backfired. The whole program relaxed. Watching the Under Construction series this year about fall camp did have a different vibe to it. It felt... well more relaxed. It seemed to lack some of the edge it had in the previous versions. Even the Boise State Ducks vs Them was pretty boring from a behind the scenes standpoint. What was the theme? "Mission Based Response" Uninspired and completely lacked the fire this team needed from a head coach. Lanning brings the intensity and the motivation for his team. He sets the baseline and makes everyone in the program jump. The beginning of the year was relaxed... dare I say "lazy?" Lanning knows his program has some major problems in it and is working overdrive to try and fix as many of those problems he can. I don't think some of them can be realistically fixed until the off season but 2026 plane took off over a month ago and any repairs need to get done in flight at this point.
  26. While I think Dylan would play lights out against Nebraska, there is a very real possibility his old teammates cheap shot him (remember big play VA against E. Wash ). So I hope Dante is ready to play by then. Dante VS UCLA isn't a concern as that team has almost completely turn over since Dante left.
