  2. I am shocked by the result, just like I was the last time Oregon played in The Shoe. Coach Mehringer must be embarrassed. Oregon has averaged 37.5 points per game since he was fired and scored one fewer point against Ohio State in Columbus than Oregon did the last 3 games COMBINED while he was the Oregon OC, against UCLA, Nebraska and Illinois. Credit to the new play caller. I'm looking forward to the Ohio State game tape breakdown. In the Northwestern game, he simplified things for Raiola, giving him pre-snap reads (with pre-snap motion) and limiting the number of progressions. It allowed him to rip it quickly.

  7. It looked like it was only 1 yd short. I remember the Rose bowl vs Ohio St and our kicker hit the cross bar on a 43 yarder and was good. After the game Kelly was asked his range and he said 43 yds. Two dropped ints by Ohio St. was the difference. The first one would have been a pick six, instead we go on to score. The second would have stopped a TD drive. I think Mari has the real beef on a "non TD catch that would have tied the game late.
  8. Oregon STUNS Ohio State, 41-28: Ducks pick up a HUGE win over Ryan Day, OSU in the Big TenWatch here as Andy & Ari react to the Oregon at Ohio State game from Columbus. As Oregon had the lead at halftime and extended the lead early in the second half, can the Ducks close out this huge win on the road? What's next for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes after this game?
  9. Thankfully the fans don't make any of these coaching decision hires. Fan decisions are born from fanatics, driven with passion, who turn off the game when their team gets behind or has a turnover. Or leave the game early when their team appears to be to far behind. When the weather isn't fair the fair weather fans jump off the band wagon. Oregon and tOSU have their fair share of these fans. NegaDucks and NegaBucks where are you today? But that's okay, we all handle being a fan in our own way. Even if its spur of the moment and knee-jerked. In 7 plus seasons Ryan Day is 88-15. Dan Lanning in 5 plus seasons is 54-11. (My fair weather Duck friends and some on this forum were wanting DL fired after the Illinous game.) I ask any fan to pick better replacements for these successful coaches. Such nonsense, click bait articles. As for Jay Johnson as the Ducks permanent OC. I will trust DL. HIs record speaks for itself. In the last 2 1/2games the Duck Oline has jelled. They are pulling and blocking downfield for big gains. Watch the game again and just watch the lineman. Pass blocking has improved. DR has time to find the open receiver. Or get the ball out quickly. No sacks or INT's the last 2 games. Not that DR hasn't tried to throw a few. JJ has called a game plan that DR has more confidence in. The quick out for 5 to 8 yards puts the Duck O In 2nd and short. Now the entire playbook and field is wide open. DM and ES are impossible to defend on those plays. When NW or tOSU committed to stopping those outs with coverage then Jamari is wide open. If DR and Jamari had been in better sync, OBD's might have put 50 points plus on tOSU. All the credit goes to the Oline and line coach for working so hard to improve each week. And Jay for calling 2 straight successful games. OBD's has the potential to win out and be that one team that no one wants to face in the CFP. As soon as the committee recognizes this they will do their best to stack 3 loss SEC teams ahead of OBD's, USC and even Iowa. This Duck honk would love a rematch in Indy against the Bruins. GO USC, beat IU? Go Ducks! Take care of the up coming Michigan state championship series.

We break down Oregon’s stunning 41-28 victory, the fake punt that changed everything, Dylan Raiola’s coming-of-age performance and what this means for the Ducks’ playoff hopes in our Flock Talk Postgame Reaction Show. 🎙️ Watch the full postgame show here Ducks stun Ohio State: Full post game reactionor much of this season, Oregon fans have wondered what happened to the team that entered the fall with national championship aspirations.
  14. Second and 10 all day long was troublesome but they managed do deal with more times than not.
  15. JJ has been great as an unexpected surprise. I think he has also benefitted from the O line maturing as a group and settle in to finally provide some protection. That's allowed the passing game to finally be able to go down field and get the ball to our dangerous playmakers. I'm loving the ride we have been taking on the last couple games. When the season is over, they still need to go out and bring in an A tier OC. I'd be down with keeping JJ on staff in whatever capacity that keeps another adult in the room.
  16. No sacks given up to Ohio State is great, but run-blocking has a checkered result. Some great, some awful.... They are continuing to improve, but we are not "there" yet, IMHO. But they could be by postseason time!
  17. I'm no expert on O line play and will listen to the more knowledgeable experts on the subject like Charles. I can only talk about what I observe and what I saw this week was a line that finally looked comfortable doing it's job. With a QB more comfortable in the pocket the offense finally looked comfortable doing what it sets out to do. The Buckeyes worst performance of the year had been in a 30 point defeat to USC last year. Before that was 24 to Texas. No one else had even cracked 20 including Indiana. If the line continues this trajectory, the Ducks will be a dangerous team. If the seas manage to part and a path to the playoffs develops, things could get interesting.
  18. I just witnessed JJ rip apart a 2 time superbowl champion DC.. put some respect on JJ name. Lets go back to one sequence that set up a future TD by Oregon. JJ on a goal line play purposely shifted Raiola out to WR hoping to get Ohio St to call timeout due to the formation. Their last of the quarter.. then comes back to the funky formation where Ohio St needed to call timeout and couldn't. Jamari runs up the middle for a TD.
  19. Some Lanning perspective. BIG road record: 11-1 (5-0, 4-0, 2-1) Regular season head to head with tOSU, Michigan, Penn St, USC: 6-0 Road games with above four: 4-0 BIG record total: 21-3 (9-0, 8-1, 4-2)

  22. The Ducks are undefeated in the regular season against Ohio State since the turn of the millennium. Unfortunately, Ohio State is undefeated in the post-season against Oregon during the same time period.

  24. Wow. Dude literally pursues correctly the whole quarter. Later zooms in on a TFL. So now he needs to tackle better. But if he pursues like that from now on, do you realize how much that shores up the run defense? Oh, and that catch by Jeremiah Smith? Ohio State WRs have scored TDs with that much separation the past three years. Koi recovered and defended the pass. And if I recall correctly, it wasn't thrown behind Smith. I WANT THAT FROM KOI. No TDs given up, proper pursuit angles. Dude is very fast. And if this is an indication, he is using his speed to his advantage. Tackling can be cleaned up in practice. You see a negative. I see a positive. All due respect, I have no problem with Koi's performance today.
  25. Next year, the SEC gets to prove if they are the superior conference. I believe it is why so many fans are complaining. SEC bias is real, or they are truly superior. Next year we will see what the conference is really about.
  26. Lanning said the players didn't execute. Said the same last week. This is the part of coaching that is getting better. Coaches are getting directly involved and getting buy in from the players. I suspect it is two way communication. Notice how Koi's pursuit has been more effective? Now they need to work on tackling. I have to look at the film more, but I am seeing signs of improvement. If they keep this up, and play like they have the past two weeks, a USC win next week helps them out tremendously. IF.
