If No Moore, Go with Thomas
Excellent points. DR and BT stats can't be well compared. BTs stats came most with a prevent defense giving a lot of cushion and little pash rush. I would argue though the extreme lack of consistency from DR is traditionally a deal breaker. DT has shown more consistent poise every time he has been in a game, which is more than a handful at this point.

Offensive Line Depth Chart: Where's the Problem?
Everyone here is so negative. Look at the bright side, they did give themselves a really cool nickname "The Law Firm." Being serious, what everyone here is bringing up can't be overstayed. Terry owns these results. These are his players that he "developed (or didn't as it seems). No portal transfers developed by other coaches to really lean on. Terry needs to go.

The Hype Train Departure Begins
A trend with a meaningful start during the previous year? That's a real stretch of logic. I don't mean that as a personal attack, there is is just no smoking gun for continuity of that trend between seasons. TT defense was one of the best in the country, and Indiana destroyed Alabama too, and our coordinators has one foot out the door. This season is simply bad because all players other than ST that were lost last year were replaced by a significant downgrade this year, and the same for the coaches. It's a fine line between success and failure and this tale of two seasons proves it, Penn State last year with so much returning production proved it. Small changes can have huge impacts. That also means things can be turned around quickly too. This will continue to be an up and down season. I'm hoping Hampton pans out based on his prior success and improved defensive performances (yes defense played good against an elite USC offense). Mehringer will probably be shown the door with one or two more inept showings, at we will hit bottom there.

Brock Thomas Is Why I Love College Football
A prevent defense will allow those types of numbers but he was competent. The only thing is he couldn't make the big throw to Dak that would have won the game, he doesn't have the arm strength. I was actually thinking Smith should have gone in the last drive to throw some bombs, but maybe we never would never have gotten past our own 30.

Oregon v Nebraska
The slide into irrelevance...haha. it could be worse, it isn't a big 10 network game, and I feel for Nebraska having to play a game that starts at 10pm body clock time. Indiana couldn't run on Nebraska so I don't think we will have any success there, could be another not fun to watch game, but we could still win Indiana style with some great defense and a few explosive plays.

Just for Fun…New OC Candidate
If Norvell gets canned mid season, Lanning needs to pick him up mid season, no need for an interim. Perhaps Ross Douglas as interim would be ok.

When Calamities Collide
Something is definitely wrong with the route tree when our pass catchers can't get open. Mehringer needs to be canned and replaced with Ross Douglas our WR coach. Here is what AI has to say about him: Previous Role: Wide receivers coach at Syracuse (2024), where he helped direct an FBS-leading passing offense. Here is what AI says about Mehringer at Rutgers:Drew Mehringer (2016) and Sean Gleeson (2020–2022) are most frequently cited among the worst offensive coordinators in modern Rutgers football history due to historically low national rankings and mid-season dismissals. The Winner of the Prediction Contest was Easy to Determine....
A dubious honor, but a tip of the cap for being right.

Does this Game Change You as a Fan?
We saw the very best version of our team against USC, with everyone locked in, and they were barely beating them. It was USC at it's best, but honestly I still expected our ceiling to be higher, but it isn't. I do agree we will be up and down the rest of the year, with the real challenge being keeping a bunch of players who can say "oh, well at least I got mine (NIL)" once we lose a third game and we no longer have "everything in front of us." Coach Lanning's greatest strength and greatest weakness is the personal connection. It carries the team through rough times, but biases what should be tough business decisions.

Does this Game Change You as a Fan?
UO is more than a single coach or team, we will be fine in the long term. With the expanded playoff we've all but missed the window win a natty with any reasonable certainty even if we do have a national caliber team. We just need to be grateful as fans when we play well. To think we almost won the game today with an absolute dumpster fire performance of the offense is amazing.

Worst Offensive Performance Since?
It's going to happen, it's just a matter of time now.

Worst Offensive Performance Since?
I never in a million years thought we would have a worse offensive performance than Mario's worst offensive game, but I think this was it.

We Stink.....
I thought that was the OSU game, but now we are breaking new territory.

We Stink.....
No money left after picking up Dylan Raiola.

Purple Mutts Getting Their Nose Shoved In It At Home
This is turning into the battle of the backup QBs that should be the starters. Both are absolutely balling out.

Purple Mutts Getting Their Nose Shoved In It At Home
I'm hopeful that's it. Also a team that plays a crazy good team and loses usually comes out hard the next week.

Purple Mutts Getting Their Nose Shoved In It At Home
UW looks like poorly coached group of 5 team. They had 14 yards of total offense until a pass a second ago. So how bad is USC and how bad are we?

Prediction Contest of Oregon vs UCLA....Is Now Locked
Hardest final score of the year to predict with the ways the 4th quarter could go. Ultimately I'm expecting a JMU 2.0 game. Ducks 51-20 3 2 333

Marsh Duck - Final Thoughts Before Oregon v UCLA
I'm not sure we need to blitz this game, but I do agree with loading the box and corners just manning up. I don't even care if it's an extra safety or lb or dl, just get one or even 2 more people in the box. Put a fence around the backfield and force Nico and his WRs to win consistently through the air, which I don't think they can do. Wear down their OL while you are at it.

Underwood's Deal May Go Underwater
We have Akili who may be a better version of Underwood already, and with Saleapaga and the Oregon State QB out there we have way better adjacent options than Underwood.

Dante Moore Ruled Out for UCLA Game
Maybe because Chesney offered to look after Dante Moore in the hospital. A little too directly related for Dan to be coy about it. I'm not going to question Chesney 's motives, but it is certainly to UCLA's advantage to keep the bulletin board material for Dan and the Ducks to a minimum.

Dan Lanning says Dante Moore has Returned to Practice, Status for UCLA Unclear
While I think Dylan would play lights out against Nebraska, there is a very real possibility his old teammates cheap shot him (remember big play VA against E. Wash ). So I hope Dante is ready to play by then. Dante VS UCLA isn't a concern as that team has almost completely turn over since Dante left.

Has Lanning Changed Since Oklahoma St?
I'm looking for more improvement from coaches and players against UCLA. I think USC showed what our floor is when we show up, but I think UCLA is going to give us a better idea of our trajectory/ceiling, at least until we play Ohio State. How much are we able to evolve our schemes, correct player execution, will tell us if the problems are terminal or if there is opportunity to continue to grow and improve significantly. If you can't course correct with the bye week, then I don't know what we can improve on significantly later.

Reactions & Concerns After Watching UCLA vs Purdue...
Nico's QBR is in the 30s, Dylan's is 90. Nico helps lock up one defender with his running threat making it easier for the RB and blockers. If there is a defining characteristic I see is they finish games super strong. Same was true for JMU against us. But I'm just not super worried here seeing that from a basic talent perspective Cal, SDSU and Rutgers were able to put up a bit of a fight. Maryland is the bottom feeder of the B1G. SDSU only won by 2 scores against Portland State. We've seen what Cal is. If we play our game for 4 quarters we'll be fine, and unfortunately this will make UCLA unranked and I'm not sure they can get that ranking back later. We'll see.
