  1. Very similar, though I would add a “stage 8” as things continue to unfold nation wide, getting an initial half-share with all the juice we’re bringing while UCLA brings nothing to football with an immediate full share irks me a bit today. I guarantee our tv ratings will blow away UCLA’s, LA market or not. We’re a top-10 brand getting half of what Rutgers gets…UNC will not get a half-share when the ACC melts down. I get that timing is everything in business and am very glad we’re in, but it does irk me a bit. Hindsight. What I’m really looking forward to is moving away from theory and getting into the schedule and playing games. Basketball is going to be really interesting as well.
  2. I think it really depends on who it is that is "left out". Hard to top the fervor over FSU last year. 9-3 Oklahoma State finishing #13 probably won't upset anyone not in Stillwater.
  3. That seems like it should be right, considering who we're talking about here. Given the civil war result, it is easy forget that Beavis was pretty highly ranked last year. Turns out they had most of their games (10!) televised "above" the P12 Network. Even super-irrelevant WSU had 6 games above the P12 Network. 2023 Beavis Football Schedule Sunday Sep. 3 at San Jose State Spartans CEFCU Stadium, San Jose, CA 3:30pm ET CBS/Paramount+ W 42-17 Saturday Sep. 9 UC Davis Aggies Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR 9:00pm ET P12N W 55-7 Saturday Sep. 16 San Diego State Aztecs Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR 3:30pm ET FS1 W 26-9 Saturday Sep. 23 at Washington State Cougars Martin Stadium, Pullman, WA 7:00pm ET FOX L 38-35 Friday Sep. 29 Utah Utes Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR 9:00pm ET FS1 W 21-7 Saturday Oct. 7 at California Golden Bears Cal Memorial Stadium, Berkeley, CA 10:00pm ET P12N W 52-40 Saturday Oct. 14 UCLA Bruins (HC) Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR 8:00pm ET FOX W 36-24 Saturday Oct. 21 OFF Saturday Oct. 28 at Arizona Wildcats Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ 10:30pm ET ESPN L 27-24 Saturday Nov. 4 at Colorado Buffaloes Folsom Field, Boulder, CO 10:00pm ET ESPN W 26-19 Saturday Nov. 11 Stanford Cardinal Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR 5:30pm ET P12N W 62-17 Saturday Nov. 18 Washington Huskies Reser Stadium, Corvallis, OR 7:30pm ET ABC/ESPN3 L 22-20 Friday Nov. 24 at Oregon Ducks Autzen Stadium, Eugene, OR 8:30pm ET FOX L 31-7 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl Friday Dec. 29 vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sun Bowl Stadium, El Paso, TX 2:00pm ET CBS/Paramount+ L 40-8
  4. Can’t wait! Great to see the coach of a team destined for another 4-8 season featured in such a beautifully rendered drawing. Scoreboard.
  5. Blood sport indeed. It won’t be as interesting at a certain point I agree, but I’m not even close to there yet.
  6. Just projecting a 13 game season based upon 1 game of stats. 😉
  7. Nothing ridiculous about NV? I respectfully disagree.
  8. As someone who has lived in OR, ID, NH and NC over the last two decades, every state is ridiculous in some way. This is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
  9. Good take, it’s certainly TV which is better than not being on TV. That being said, I think it's a false equivalency to say this is better coverage than the good ole P12 Network as the P12 Network wasn’t the exclusive network for the league. P12 Network was pretty much the lowest rung for the worst matchups for the week in conference, this tv deal is it for the “league”. Ratings will be hilarious. Also worth noting that details of the contract are not being shared…there’s a reason for that.
  10. Wow, thanks for this. Definitely reinforces my taking a macro view with recruiting.
  11. Probably hasn’t come up because of how irrelevant Beavis is, but it suddenly occurred to me I haven’t heard anything about the PIG2’s other sports. Are their other sports going to appear on the invention called television?
  12. I’m also skeptical how “national” any broadcast will actually be. It is theoretically possible, but as I have said before, does anyone think the Pittsburgh affiliate of CW will be airing Idaho State playing OSU when an episode of Gun Smoke would draw more viewers?
  13. I’d also add we donated to WSU in a 3 team schedule trade. WSU now gets what was previously a home game for UO (Texas Tech) in Pullman, in one of the PIG2’s very few Fox worthy opponents. Our donation provided the PIG2 two of their alleged three games worthy of a Fox broadcast. The PIG2 tv deal would be quite different if we had told them to pound sand.
  14. I’m shocked anytime I hear someone pays (or use to) to have access to his guesses. 🤡
  15. I believe I recall the PIG2 has a strong monetary, and legal incentive to remain an entity for 2 years. Hearing more legitimate rumblings of Gonzaga going B12 for hoops than anything else. My perspective, I don't think there will be any major football realignment until the ACC figures out what it's doing. Doesn't make any sense right now for anyone until the big brands in the ACC know their fate.
  16. Just, wow. That’s amazing. At least they weren’t using peach baskets.
  17. 😂 Sources are saying the PIG2 is signing a national, multi-year, TV deal while also leaving for the B12. Hard to imagine both happening at the same time. Creative writing is fun! You can create your own world where you are coveted by mass media and conferences around the world…calling all the shots like a big boy!
  18. Surprised but not surprised, any given year someone else could have just done something major and made us slip a few spots.
  19. Great, get some geographic diversification not tied the old bowl system…do it!
  20. Should we take note for when he turns down a job with one of the P2?
  21. Anything that reduces the impact of voting for a champion and moves it to the field is good in my book. Imagine how different NFL history would be if it was a 2 or 4-team playoff, or if March Madness was a field of 8. Personally, I have always thought if you want a true national champion, then have a playoff and do it right. I’m also good with no playoff at all and having traditional bowls and arguments…this time period of having a foot in each era was always annoying to me, pick one. 😃
  22. Can’t wait to start playing and step away from all the other stuff for a while, Beavis bashing aside.
  23. Speaking of Beavis (with the still unannounced, imminent, intergalactic tv deal scoop broken by the Clown, for the 10th time last week), I see Grand Canyon will soon be joining the WCC for hoops. Reality sandwiches for all!
