College Football 2024 - Betting Time, Fruit of the Vine, When You Goin' to Let Me Get Over?
Fun stuff! UCLA - Over - That seems very low. They actually played very solid D last year and would be surprised if they didn’t have a decent spring portal USC - Over - Ditto on being low, if the D was exactly the same as last year that’s a good number, don’t think it will be tOSU - exactly right. I think they’ll go 10-2, but wouldn’t bet money on that number, total coin flip at 10.5

Ducks Beat Oregon State by Two Points After N'Faly Dante's Buzzer-Beating Dunk
I hear you, but three straight years of the exact same scenario makes me question talent identification, development of players, conditioning program, and questionable “4th quarter” adjustments. We shot 10% from three against a terrible team last night. We only won because they shot 11%.

B1G College Football - You Better Slow Down, Baby You're Moving Way Too Fast.
We shall see. I know they have a history together, but this is a total role-reversal of that relationship. Coaching chemistry and relations with players matter more than ever, and they have disrupted themselves twice. I would call it a direct reaction to losing to Michigan 3 straight years and Day is feeling the heat. tOSU was one TD away from 12-0 and they’re letting Michigan live in their head rent-free. Be exactly like us making changes directly because of losing to UW 3 straight.

B1G College Football - You Better Slow Down, Baby You're Moving Way Too Fast.
Good stuff! I still call this a knee-jerk, borderline panicky over-reaction by tOSU. Their only problem last year was Michigan was better and they lost a close game on the road. That calls for overhauling everything? Making significant, optional changes to a team that went 11-1 in the regular season? We’ll see how smooth an unneeded transition goes.

It’s definitely time, hopefully Dana just retires.

Always good to send the rodents home sad!

Which Big Ten Football Teams Have The Toughest Schedule in 2024!?
I believe the SEC is finally switching to 9 conference games in 2026

Jon Wilner's Preseason B1G Football Rankings
Good stuff. Michigan will have to see what happens with the spring portal and potentially significant sanctions. Their transition was a little late in the academic-calendar and created an incentive for players to potentially wait.

Oregon State Fighting For The Citizens Of Oregon
Yep, they’d still leave in a heartbeat if someone (even the ACC) wanted them…which is why they can go sit and spin with this ridiculous narrative.

Please: End the Wave at Autzen
The Wave and other mysteries. What about shaking your keys on kickoffs? What does that even mean? Why does WSU play the Jaws theme? Why does our band still play fanfare from episode 1 of Star Wars?

Former Pac-12 Schools Likely to Still Play in Bowls With Pac-12 Tie-Ins
Seems like Action Network speculation and this is “one of the options”. I won’t hold my breath on this one. Really makes no sense at all that teams playing in 4 different conferences would somehow have a pecking order for a group of crappy bowls to select from. Why would we, or our new conference agree to this? If the pac2 wants to pretend to still be a conference and can’t fulfill their contracts, that’s their problem, not ours. Let’s play this out. UO and USC both go 10-2, one of us ends up #13 and doesn’t make the playoff. Everyone would be cool with UO or USC playing in the Holiday Bowl on behalf of the pac2?

UCLA Announces Hire of All-Time Great to Replace Chip Kelly
This defines giving up on contender football. They’re happy to be a hoops school that is usually bowl eligible in football.

Oregon and Washington State Set to Duke it Out for 2nd Place in the Pac-12
Can slice it any number of ways…injuries, recruiting busts, etc. For me the bottom line is failing to make the tourney 3 straight years when the conference hasn’t been very good. 68 teams make the tournament. Cracking the top 68 every year should be a minimum expectation, and that hasn’t been met. Imagine if the football team didn’t make a bowl game 3 straight years. Making a bowl game is a bit easier, but finishing in the top 68 in hoops should be a pretty minimal standard at a place like the UO. I think it’s a combination of poor talent evaluation (star chasing), roster construction, and not adapting offensively. We’re not very tough, and when you have 3 straight seasons of massive injuries, I start to wonder if it’s more of a trend than bad luck.

Oregon and Washington State Set to Duke it Out for 2nd Place in the Pac-12
I actually watched some B1G hoops today (funny what the lack of football will do) and it looked like a different sport then we’re playing. Bigs that can hit 3s, wings taller than 6’7, much better shooting from 3. Just generally seemed like a lot more toughness on the floor.

Oregon and Washington State Set to Duke it Out for 2nd Place in the Pac-12
56 at home against anyone is not getting it done. We’ve reverted to the old school big man game just like the last two seasons, it doesn’t work. 3 seasons of not cracking the top 68 isn’t good enough

Love(d) Dana, but time for a change. Loved EK until it was time, it happens.

College Football - Not a Good Look for Herbie.
Myself, I’ve stopped watching any pregame shows unless we’re directly involved. It’s become 3 hours of nonsense that adds nothing to my football Saturday. They could go to Tuscaloosa every week and it wouldn’t register with me. 3 hour format has jumped the shark.

Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
I was more initially puzzled as to why tOSU hired him. I get why Chip would do it if the NFL wasn't interested. Loved what he did with us, but I think it was a brief aligning of the stars that he took full advantage of. Preparation met opportunity.
-
Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
More speculation, does this mean the NFL wasn’t interested? I don’t think it’s burnout on LA as much as burnout specifically on UCLA, and an even greater burnout on being a college HC in 2024.

Chip Gone: UCLA Players Now Available via Portal
Current class has a couple of very good WRs. Looks like an edge transfer from Miami is worth a look. Not much in current class for us. Nice timing 2 days after signing day btw.

Oh Brother - WSU’s influence grows: Pat Chun named to CFP selection committee
All you need to know about OSU. Last year their transfer QB was a former 5 star from Clemson. This year the likely starter is a transfer from Idaho. They're in for a more challenging season then the fan base thinks.

Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
Keep in mind this is all happening because tOSU just clustered their OC hire in the last 30 days. Tight ship Day is running…can smell the sweat of desperation.

Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
I get we’re supposed to despise LA, but LA is amazing if you make multiple-millions a year. Not so much if you’re commuting from Rancho Cucamonga.

Chip Kelly Leaving UCLA For OC Job At Ohio State!
Puzzling. Loved Chip for that moment in time at UO, but he hasn’t exactly been putting up big numbers since his return to college, and it’s not like the PAC has been particularly good on D the last decade. I really don’t understand this from a recruiting perspective, seems like this hurts tOSU on recruiting no matter how it is spun. The OC connection with recruits is critical.

Oregon and Washington State Set to Duke it Out for 2nd Place in the Pac-12
Definitely need to send them packing, regardless of tourney. Moments like this are when I realize getting out of the PAC is the right move. In any legitimate basketball conference this would be a huge game not relegated to the pac12 network. Instead there will an embarrassingly small tv audience as two top teams in a power conference fight to stay on the bubble. But hey, I kind of enjoy half the ad space being committed to conference promotions.
