Each website has their own sports writers and opinions as to where each school should be ranked. ON3 has Oregon as a # 13 seed, with Oklahoma, Cal Poly and Murray State. On D1 Baseball, they also list Oregon as a # 13 seed. Joining them is TCU, Cal Poly and Fairfield. With one more week of the regular season and then the conference tournaments, we'll just have to wait a couple of weeks to see where Oregon ends up. Just keep winning. Go Ducks!

Depends on what the consumer signs up for. When I had Comcast cable, I was locked into a TWO year contract. I could opt out anytime, but I would not receive a refund. I now have YouTube TV and I have most of the bells and whistles for sport events. And it's not a contract. I pay monthly and can cancel anytime. And a perk with YouTube, I have unlimited recording options.

Followup to the NCBWA rankings posted this week, # 6 Oregon State, # 10 UCLA and # 19 Oregon. These guys are being lazy in their weekly ranking of schools. These numbers are the current RPI for this week. As you mentioned previously, Oregon swept OSU and took two out of three against the Bruins. I doubt these clowns know that. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) was founded in 1962, is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists. (That says it all right there) The officers of the NCBWA are affiliated with the following universities... Troy, Dayton, Arizona State, Penn State, West Virginia, Liberty, East Carolina, North Texas and Baylor. I wouldn't put too much stock in their rankings. D1 Baseball is the best option.

That's good to see our Ducks will be televised this weekend. Not only did the Hawkeyes lose twice to Bevis and also twice to the degenerate Huskies, they lost three of four to lowly Washington State. The Cougars have a dismal record in the Mountain West Conference at 11-16, .407% and an overall record of 18-32 .360% and yet three of those wins came at the hands of the Hawkeyes. Oregon should roll over these guys. Once again I'm having to root for our 'Little Brother' this weekend. They have a game against the Portland Pilots and then a three game series against the Long Beach State Dirtbags. Their Big West Conference record is also bad at 15-15 .500% and overall at 22-27 .449%. All games are in Corvallis. With OSU winning out, it makes are four game sweep of them more impressive. Can't wait for the weekend to get here. Go Ducks!

Hi Charles Baseball is such a funny game sometimes. You never know what is going to happen. That's why we enjoy it so much. I don't know either why a team can be so good and then seem to fall apart so suddenly. I can see a pitcher or batter having a slump, but when the entire team does, that is certainly perplexing. Based on their ups and downs, I looked at their schedule. February 14th - March 10th 13 home games 3 road games March 11th - April 24th 15 home games 8 road games April 25th - May 9th 6 home games 4 road games It's easier to win at home then on the road. Maybe that has something to do with it. And there could have been a flu bug or cold virus circulating throughout the clubhouse that made the players feel a bit ill. Let's hope everyone is healthy and ready to kick the Huskies butt.

Hi Jon The Big Ten baseball tournament is double-elimination. 12 schools will be in the tournament and five will not make the post season. There will be pool play to start the tournament. They would host TCU, Cal Poly and Fairfield. They have a mathematical chance to win the Big Ten conference but would have to sweep both the Huskies and Hawkeyes and also hope for UCLA to lose. Oregon holds the tie-breaker over both UCLA (2-1) and USC (3-0) They need to win twice against Washington so they have that tie-breaker against them in case of the same record at the end of the season. Who are we pulling for? It has to be Bevis. If they win, it helps the Ducks strength of schedule. And if the Hawkeyes are beaten, would they be demoralized so much that they wouldn't have any fight left in them when they play Oregon? There's going to be a lot of scoreboard watching this week-end! I think your missing one player from this list. Freshman guard J.J. Frakes stands 6'5 and weighs 190 lbs. Unless I've missed something, he will be playing for the Ducks this upcoming season.

Has anyone noticed the Big Ten baseball standings recently? Four of the top six teams are the former PAC-12 schools. And though I am not a fan of the Bruins, Trojans or the Huskies, it's nice to see them along with the Ducks on top of the standings. A look at the top six... UCLA 12-3 Iowa 14-4 Oregon 12-6 USC 11-7 Washington 9-6 Illinois 9-6 Now here comes the scary part. Oregon's remaining conference games are daunting. They have home games with UCLA (this week-end) and against the Huskies. The Ducks road games are at Michigan State and at Iowa. Although the Spartans don't have an impressive record, the Ducks have had their challenges on the road this season. In addition to this brutal schedule, Oregon plays four games against the always dangerous OSU Beavers. Three are in Eugene, one in Corvallis. The Ducks have some big bats in their lineup, but they will only go as far as their pitching will take them. Go Ducks!

This is great news! Up until his decision, I thought it would be 50-50 that he would return. With forwards Supreme Cook and Brandon Angel graduating and Mookie Cook transferring only forwards Dezdrick Lindsay (injured last season) and Oleksandr Kobzystyi only playing in two games with a total of eight minutes return. I would be surprised if Evans isn't in the starting lineup next season. A look at next years players. I was a Comcast customer for about 25 years. All they did was raise the cost seemingly every year. I had the "bundle", cable tv, wifi and a land line. I finally pulled the plug, sort of, ditched cable tv and my land line phone. I still have the wifi. I haven't received any calls from them but do get a lot of emails saying my account has been compromised and I can't get any service, which is simply not true. Also emails saying I need to contact social security, Amazon, my local bank etc. I did actually receive a phone call years ago. I could tell it was from a foreign country because the caller spoke broken English. I toyed with him for a while before he hung up on me. And speaking of Comcast, if anyone is ready to move on, I would suggest YouTube TV. It has all the sports channels and I am very satisfied with it.

Duck pitchers gave up: 11 runs (10 earned) 12 hits, 5 walks, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 6 wild pitches, 4 hit batters along with 3 errors. And this to a last place Buckeye team. These guys aren't getting anywhere near Omaha. Approximately 153 days until football, 225 days until basketball.

Continuing on with our discussion about the B1G Ten arena's, Ben Kenney writes for USA Today Sports and gave his take on each arena. He wrote this article in May 2024. This is his perspective and how he ranks them. 18. Rutgers - Jersey Mikes Arena Great environment, layout makes it tough to watch game as a fan. 17. USC - Galen Center A mostly nondescript arena. 16. Oregon - Matthew Knight A great place to watch a game, however, the court is challenging to look at. He wrote this before Oregon changed the court. 15. Penn St. - Bryce Jordan Center Look's like a professional arena, seats far back from the court. It's a multi-purpose facility, not great for basketball. 14. Minnesota - Williams Arena Terrific architecture and old-school feel, a great college basketball arena. 13. Ohio St. - Value City Arena Capacity 18,809, is too large for college ball. 12. Northwestern - Welsh-Ryan Arena Smallest arena in the Big Ten (7,039) Just like Ohio St., this arena is too small. 11. Nebraska - Pinnacle Bank Arena A new building, a professional feel to it and too many luxury boxes. 10. Washington - Alaska Airlines Correct size (10,000) and fan intimacy court side. 9. Maryland - Xfinity Center It's a hybrid between college/professional arena 8. Iowa - Carver-Hawkeye Arena A right feel for college basketball and fans are right on top of the action. 7. UCLA - Pauley Pavillion A good hybrid of old school arena and new renovations. 6. Michigan - Crisler Center Part of the court has the student section, a good environment for college basketball. 5. Illinois - State Farm Center Just like Michigan, student section surrounds the court, terrific environment for college basketball. 4. Wisconsin - Kohl Center Too large and professional feeling, but large crowds and a winning atmosphere make up for this. 3. Purdue - Mackey Arena Ugly arena and not up-to-date, but a great college environment. This place is rocking for every game. 2. Michigan St. - Breslin Center One of the best student sections in the B1G ten. 70% of the court is surrounded by students. 1. Indiana - Assembly Hall An ideal combination of a unique feel and a terrific atmosphere.

Hi Charles I think there was a misunderstanding when I listed the arena capacities. Ohio State did not average 18,000 fans, same thing with Penn St, they didn't average 15,000 fans either. There is a very important game tonight with Illinois vs. Purdue. The game is at 5 pm on the FOX network. If Purdue wins and the Ducks beat the Huskies, Oregon would have the 7th seed and would play the #10 vs. #15 winner in the Big Ten tournament. If Illinois wins, Oregon ends up with the #8 seed and would play the winner of the Indiana/Ohio State game. Earlier this year, Indiana won at Ohio State 77-76 in overtime. Oregon beat Indiana 73-64 in Eugene and the Ducks beat Ohio State in Columbus 73-71. If Oregon faces Indiana, it will be like a home game for the Hoosiers. Bloomington is only 56 miles away from Indianapolis. If the Ducks don't get that 7th seed, I'd rather see us play Ohio State again.

The latest college baseball rankings (D 1) are out. The Ducks are # 10 this week and they are the only B1G Ten team in the top 25. Playing USC this week-end, they will have a target on their backs. Hope the guys are prepared for their first away series this season. As noted above, USC'S home field, Dedeaux Field, is still under renovation. The ballpark seats 2,500 fans. Playing at Great Park Stadium, the seating capacity is 1,200. All USC home games are free of charge this season.

This is not going to be an easy game to win. Ducks home losses were to UCLA 73-71, Illinois 109-77 (inexcusable), Purdue 65-58 and Nebraska 77-71. The Trojans are currently on a four game losing streak. USC lost to Oregon 68-60 in LA. Although the Trojans are not a very good basketball team, they have been in a few close games, losing by two points to Northwestern, lost by three to Minnesota and by five to Ohio St. Win those three games and they would be a much more dangerous opponent. If the Big Ten Conference started today, USC would be the # 15 seed in the tournament. They are going to give Oregon all they can handle. Let's hope our Ducks are ready for the battle at hand.

It took a while, but I'm thoroughly enjoying all the B1G Ten games. At first I just watched the Ducks play, but now take an interest in the other games as were getting closer to the post season. There is a lot more parity in the league than I thought. Using the current conference standings, I have listed the winning and losing streaks for each team. All games are included, non-conference and conference games. Although It's early in the season, I'm skeptical of how good our pitching staff is. Giving up 24 runs in two games to Rhode Island, an unranked team is not a good sign of things to come. I took a look at Oregon's last two games from last year against Texas A&M. The Ducks pitching gave up 25 runs in those games. Oregon lost by scores of 10-6 and 15-9.
