  1. I think his huge buy-out contract does not require him to seek another job. If so, I could see him just living off the $75M for the rest of his life.
  2. Absolutely. Nix and Gabriel were very good at those things. QB play is the difference today, so far.
  3. The NMN sold is often fake. It works though, so you must be buying a good quality version. In any case NR, is much more effective by volume. "AI Overview Nicotinamide riboside (NR) shows a 2.3-fold (or 161% vs. 67%) higher increase in blood NAD+ levels compared to nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) at identical gram-for-gram doses in recent head-to-head human crossover trials. [1, 2] Cellular Entry Mechanism: NR enters cells directly via nucleoside transporters, whereas NMN generally requires extracellular conversion into NR before crossing the cell membrane." NMN sellers who claim that NMN has a more immediate path to create NAD are being deceptive. NMN breaks down to NR, and only then can enter a cell, and then it picks up a phosphate molecule, and eventually becomes NAD.
  4. I had big hopes for Hampton, but he is probably done.
  5. Kind of off topic a bit, but it is relevant to football injuries, particularly concussions: Reportedly, Kyler Murray took the B-3 variant NR (Niagen) and was out for about a week. I posted about this vitamin and recovery from injuries a few years ago. AI: Search Assist A clinical study is investigating the effects of Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) on brain NAD+ levels in college football players, aiming to determine if it can help with concussion recovery. Participants will take either 750 mg of NR or a placebo for 84 days, with evaluations to measure changes in brain NAD+ levels and overall health. (It is approved as a supplement by the National Sports: Tru Niagen for Athletes & Sports Teams | NSF Certified NAD+ Support. Niagen also holds FDA GRAS status and is NSF Certified for Sport®—critical for athletes who need to trust what they put in their bodies. u2028u2028 In an industry where recent independent testing revealed only 13% of NR products meet their label claims, Tru Niagen provides third-party verified purity and potency. (I can personally report amazing benefits. This will be my only post about it, but Oregon should know.) He doesn't say why here, and the company cannot claim it. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50023633/vikes-murray-says-recovered-pretty-quickly-week-1-concussion
  6. I actually own a very small island off my property in Washington State.
  7. I have been a paid customer there for maybe 25 years, but it gets snarky, and is not unique in the information it provides.
  8. True, but a few million to play another year at Oregon and then get the bigger amount a year later would be a nice path as well.
  9. According to AI, which knows more than I do, there is a huge salary difference between being the 3rd overall pick in the NFL draft as a QB compared to the 25th pick. If the all-knowing AI is correct, it may behoove Dante to come back next fall. AI Overview The pay difference between the 3rd and 25th overall NFL draft picks is roughly $31.8 million in total 4-year contract value, or about $7.95 million more per year for the 3rd overall pick. [1] Draft Slot Total 4-Year Contract Value Average Annual Value (AAV) Year 1 Cap Number (Approx.) No. 3 Overall ~$50.54 million ~$12.63 million ~$9.19 million No. 25 Overall ~$18.76 million ~$4.69 million (Lower proportional scale) Difference ~$31.78 million ~$7.94 million/year —
  10. AI: The landscape of how NFL front offices value concussed players is actively shifting as medical baselines and scouting protocols have tightened. [1] A major test case for this scenario is unfolding right now with Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore. Widely projected as a potential top first-round pick, Moore suffered a severe concussion from a late hit against USC on September 26, 2026. On October 26, 2026, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning officially announced that Moore will miss the rest of the season. Because Moore was previously viewed as a top-3 to top-10 lock, draft analysts like Mel Kiper Jr. have already adjusted his stock to No. 25 overall on active big boards. How early Moore is selected in the upcoming NFL Draft will serve as the most modern benchmark for how teams weigh late-season collegiate concussions against elite potential. [1, 2]
  11. Not the play calling considering our talent on teh field perhaps. Mistakes by the OL and just getting beat at tackle. Dylan not have a special day so far. It is just brutal to watch. I'd take a one-point win in a heart beat..
  12. I was surprised to see the field goal, but the way things were going, being up 10-0 is important.
  13. I see that Jack Ressler is not listed as out. I liked his high school tapes, as did Notre Dame, USC, and others. He has been injured most of his time at Oregon after redshirting his first year. In his high school tapes, he was an elusive, hard-nosed little receiver. It will be a nice surprise if he plays and has a belated coming-out party.
  14. OMG. I am changing my predictions. Might we see two tight-end looks during the game? We will see Lewis, Bair, and Hooks get their chance.
  15. He left for more NIL I suppose.
  16. What NIL resources does the basketball team have? My guess is that many other schools have devoted more to basketball than us, and we have put it pretty much all into football. Football is king, both for fan enthusiasm and income.
  17. Only two of these teams are ranked. Are there any other than Oregon which are close to being ranked? If we ever get Moore back, we should roll.
  18. Well, apparently, a difficult hurdle in the House of Representatives. "Current House Status & Timeline Senate Passage: The Senate passed the bill (S. 4668) by a 77–22 vote on September 28, 2026, and sent it to the House. House Schedule: House GOP leadership and lawmakers opted not to schedule or take up a vote prior to the midterm elections. Next Return Date: The House is on hold until returning on November 9, 2026, for the post-election lame-duck session, though a vote faces significant political and factional hurdles. Key House Obstacles Friction & Alternative Legislation: The bill faces resistance from the House Freedom Caucus, House staff, and members who favor rival proposals like the SCORE Act (which approaches employee restrictions differently). Opposition Groups: The Congressional Black Caucus and civil rights organizations have voiced strong opposition to certain provisions. Vote Counting: Supporters currently lack a guaranteed path to the 218 votes needed for passage in the House amid debates over conference realignment caps, labor/employment neutrality, and foreign athlete limits."
  19. I was actually thinking of the legislative proposal, but somehow thought the NCAA had already changed the rule. I think Trump said he would sign it. "The Senate passed legislation that would create federal rules for college athlete transfers, compensation, eligibility and NCAA enforcement. The Protect College Sports Act passed 77-22 on September 28 and now moves to the House. Trump has indicated he would sign it. Given the large majority in the Senate, I guess it will pass in the House as well.
  20. Teams have had trouble retaining depth at QB in a system where players can transfer every year. Oregon has been blessed by having Dillon Gabriel follow Bo Nix, and then having Dante Moore be willing to sit a year before taking over. While Dylan Riola's performance over three games has been uneven, without him we would have lost all three games he played in, rather than one. Next weekend we play an Illinois team that will need to start a true freshman. The same seems likely for Ohio State. You can only play one QB at a time, and alternating QBs in a game has rarely been productive, although substituting when a QB has not been productive can be, and has been for Oregon the past three weeks. Other than freshmen, the trend has been for non-starter QBs to transfer. They want to be on the field, which is understandable. Until recent times, having to sit it out a year discouraged transferring until it became apparent that a QB would never start at his present school. Having to redshirt after transferring in most circumstances disincentivized transferring. As I understand, the rules have been changed effective a date I am not aware of, where the first transfer a player makes does not require sitting a year, but a second transfer would impose that requirement. This might return some level of stability on the QB depth charts. It should also put some breaks on NIL bidding wars.
  21. People have lamented Oregon's in-game adjustments. Nebraska's best defender thought Oregon did well in the adjustments it made: Benning said Nebraska didn't adjust well enough. "Ultimately as a team, and I'll speak as a defense, we didn't adjust to some of the adjustments they made," he said. "And at the end, the first three quarters really don't matter. In a ballgame like this in the Big Ten, the fourth quarter is what it's going to come down to. You've got to win the fourth quarter."
