'I think we have some TE's who can get open,' 'What are you crazy, teach them how to block!'

I would guess it means the talent on the field, players, will lead what is called. If a receiver can beat his man deep, that will be called. Rather than a set of plays limited by what is rattling around the head coaches brain, over and over, with the occasional timeout.

I know I want to see him play another season in college without injury. Wouldn't that be amazing to have both Sewell and Flowe back for a 4th year, I can dream can't I! That would be NIL money well spent.

This was what I always wondered about with AB. The guy had the heart of a lion, and his statistics went down under the qb killer. Now the questions are how high will Robby Ashford rise at Auburn? Also is Ty, and Butters much better than they were assumed as AB's back-ups? Finally can a qb at Miami actually put up some stats, and improve under the coach who can stifle a rifle, suffocate a star, and strangle every angle a qb has at success. Mopes and Slurpes, are you paying attention?

I just think we should be aware of a few things this season. Records 206 Most Tackles in a season 1969 22 Most Tackles in a game 1983 13 Most Sacks in a season 1993/2008 With Flowe and Sewell we may be setting a few new records. I will also say after next years draft they may be calling us LBU!

I will always be grateful to Mario for beating the nuts in the shoe, always! That was almost a 'the pick' moment. Seeing JTT on the tosu sideline, at home, losing to the Ducks was a sweet moment. I look forward to beating the spoiled children for much the same reason. When kids sign on to the trojan dream, and thumb their nose to the Oregon culture I kind of love to see them lose. This season I would love to see somebody's brother lose to the Ducks! I know it is a character flaw of mine, but I own it!

Supposedly if he slows down. The kid has a motor like no other, but that can be played by an offense if they know he is overly reactive. I think he may be our sack leader. In high school he just caused havoc.

Also the streaks are DeBoer, 0-1, the dawgs 0-3, and I look for those streaks to continue and grow against Oregon.

The long drought in the wide receiver department is finally coming to an end. We actually seem to have a flood of talent at wide receiver now, not a bad problem. I remember back when we signed Cam Colvin, still our highest rated wide receiver recruit all-time, but he just didn't work out to be our great receiver. I look forward to Oregon to finally developing a NFL receiver pipeline. This is something we have never had, but will change our program if it happens. Jurrion could just be the next great one as we seem to be flush at the position now.

Agree DeBoer is a very good coach. I will say Oregon has a way of creating great coaches, and the dawg program has the exact opposite effect. DeBoer will have to break the streak of coaches either struggling at the mistake on the lake or just quitting. I don't wish ill will on anyone, but the program up north, I look forward to continued struggles.

I also wonder who is in this position on the defense? I know the center runs the O-line, but who are the leaders on the defense? What is Lanning idea on defensive leadership, ownership?

Great stuff, and something I saw Bo do as he finished the play and as he came to the line of scrimmage. If Ty and Butters can better develop this type of leadership between the snaps they too may become leaders of the Ducks. The leadership doesn't just happen in the huddle is what Dilly is speaking too. A qb has to see the defense, but also know how each player should line up, and the dynamics each matchup is creating. One can call it ownership, but it is also extreme leadership. Every player should know the qb is in control and has high expectations. When a play is called the qb becomes the maestro, he sees every player, and knows how it should go while providing strong leadership. Some have skills and others also bring the vision and leadership needed. I look forward to seeing who has these traits which can come to fruition under Dilly.

There are players who change the game, I think we will see Flowe as one of those players. The D-line will effect the game, but the speed and power of Flowe is going to be something to watch. I still remember the highlight of Flowe taking down Noah, who was play RB, in the Poly game when they were coming out of high school. We haven't seen what Justin can do yet, and when we do it is going to be a moment. I predict some DAT type moments on defense for Mr. Flowe, highlights we will remember!

I do think there is developing and then there is letting somebody who is ready to compete, the opportunity to show it. Do we have a Tom Brady who needs to show what he can do on the field or just another highly rated high school product who doesn't have what it takes at the college level. I don't think we know from the development and filter the previous leadership provided. I look forward to putting a different eye and development system to work on the two guys who have been sitting, mainly on the bench until now. Again if both back-ups are ready to compete at the college level give them both time to shine, they deserve it.

You don't necessarily need a two qb system, just a system where you get the backup qbs in for meaningful minutes. This will be decided by two things, the defense, and how ready the next guys are. If the defense is all most people are thinking it is, then playing the back-ups isn't a problem. A turnover then become a three and out, try it again. If the defense struggles you don't take as many chances with the back-ups. The other item is how close is the competition? If the back-ups can make enough of the plays work in practice, it is time, and bring down the curtain for showtime. It is pretty simple if a qb can make all, or most of the plays, play him. If a qb still is struggling to get up to college game speed, he needs more practice time. So if the defense is stout, and the next guys in line are ready we could have a three qb system. The main thing is if the back-up comes in, he shouldn't be handing the ball off. We need to develop qb's, and keep the petal to the metal, game speed, full game script. I say challenge the defense and the young qb's asap.

We will never know exactly what happened, but this is likely part of the equation. The interesting part is, once again, we are better off after a coach has left, who does that? Well done Oregon, now let's move on! As far as the hurricane watch, if they don't start off 3-1 the mopes will be chirping loudly. As tough as Oregon's early schedule is Miami's is soft, except for the game at college station.

Nice to see our program get a little respect, but I look forward to us earning a lot of respect as the season progresses. The respect one wants is earned!

So many elite players have had little failure, and how one handles failure is what defines a winner. Was curious to see if they talked about the use of cork instead of rubber as the grainy material which pops up. Supposedly the rubber is somewhat toxic, while the cork isn't, and provides more cooling. Sounds like a top of the line turf nonetheless!
