I agree—I felt really bad for him to be put in that position. I would argue that it does reflect poorly on his leadership skills, though. And this is also in the context of Williams generally being a poor sport. The contrast with Nix is striking.

I read that the sideline interference call was against Nix. Nix was so engaged in the game from the sideline that he got caught up in it. Compare that to Williams crying in the stands. Just sayin’…

U$C is one of the top-10 WORST scoring defenses in the NCAA. Utah, Stanford, Hawaii, and Colorado all rank better. Cal’s D is the only D ranked worse than U$C’s that we will face all year. And Cal’s stats are extra bad because OBD just hung 63 on them. I know DL will certainly be disappointed if we don’t lay 70+ on the Trojans. My hubby, faithful Duck-in-law that he is, predicts 80+. 🤣

One thing I would like to note… If we were still in “divisions,” a 1-loss Ducks would _not_ make the P12 championship game against an undefeated UW. My guess is AZ would represent the South instead. So thanks Kliavkoff for at least one good decision by the league. This makes the Pac far more likely to make the CFP.

This is what’s been most impressive to me. Steve Stephens loses the starting job he had for 3+ years, yet there he is against Cal with a pick and some great plays. And absolutely everyone on the field is making great plays. Tight man to man coverage. Excellent tackling. Setting the edge. Dominating the line. Communicating. Spying. It’s a well-oiled machine right now.

I don’t think I have EVER felt as confident about OBD as I do this year. Seeing how many players are in the defensive rotation is mind-boggling, and we have the #11 scoring D in the country while playing many high-scoring Os! Wow! Our QB is in the Heisman top-5 and has the NCAA record for number of starts. We have the #1 center in the country!! The OL is #2 in the country in sacks allowed. We are the #9 rushing offense with the #6 YPC RB. We have 3 solid WRs who block with 1 on the Biletnikoff list. And we have the #10 passing offense. We have 3 solid TEs who block. We are #2 in total offense and #3 in scoring offense. We are 6-1-1 ATS. In the 30 years I have been paying attention to OBD, we have had some of these pieces but never all on the same team. This team is different. Frankly, this is a top-tier SEC team.
