  1. We may have missed Ronnie Lee dunks but we gained seeing Ronnie Lee blocking breakaway lay ins. It was a thing of beauty, perfectly timed as he swatted the ball just as it left the shooters hand but before it hit the backboard.
  2. Google has lots of sites which give a net worth. I assume most of them are wild guesses but the general consensus for Onterrio is $1-$5 million which seems plausible.
  3. Plus 20 non-scholarship players, total allowed is 105.
  4. Watched just a bit of the post game press availability. Altman looked and sounded like he wants this year to be over. I know I'm ready, this team is just not enjoyable to watch. How to they allow a guy shooting over 50% for the game to casually dribble the ball up court and shoot a wide game winner?
  5. Didn't realize that, thanks. Much is made of the fact CK's buyout went to zero this year but what would have been the financial consequences if they let him leave? Often assistants contracts are tied to the HC and they receive a buyout with changes at the top. Oregon reportedly paid nearly $15 million to the assistant coaches when Helfrich was fired, wonder what the total would have been for the Bruins? The schedule mentioned above should result in more wins than I originally thought but I think all three coordinator positions will be new hires, I know Don Pellum retired and I believe other assistants have left as well. Chip doesn't attract A-list candidates although he did Ken Norton back to coach LBs. With a weak staff I think your 7-5 season is fair prediction.
  6. Leaving former Oregon player Justin Wilcox to work with former Oregon OC Marcus Arroyo as defensive coordinator. Is joining a 2-16 third years coach a smart career choice? From Football Scoop UNLV: Cal outside linebackers coach Keith Heyward is expected to become the new defensive coordinator at UNLV, Bruce Feldman tweets this morning. We can confirm the hire. Heyward previously worked with UNLV head coach Marcus Arroyo at Oregon, where Heyward served as co-defensive coordinator.
  7. I-A Wins 2000-2021 (22 years) (Teams not qualifying for the table are listed at the bottom.) Rank Team name Winning Percentage Games Won Games Lost Games Tied Games Played 1 Oklahoma 0.81849 239 53 0 292 2 Boise State 0.82206 231 50 0 281 3 Ohio State 0.83026 225 46 0 271 4 Georgia 0.75862 220 70 0 290 5 Clemson 0.74227 216 75 0 291 6 Louisiana State 0.75000 213 71 0 284 7 Alabama 0.76190 208 65 0 273 8 Oregon 0.72401 202 77 0 279 9 Wisconsin 0.70526 201 84 0 285 10 Florida 0.69149 195 87 0 282 55t Washington 0.52416 141 128 0 269 55t Arkansas 0.51648 141 132 0 273 55t Southern Miss 0.51273 141 134 0 275
  8. I believe Washington State also has over 20 players transferring out. Quick scan of the 247 portal listings show only four transferring in.
  9. I'm still waiting to see the tax consequences of all this. Scholarship money isn't subject to federal tax for students in degree programs. I assume the o-lineman at TAMU can no longer be considered a dependent on his parents return. Is tax withheld? FICA? Do they get a W-2? A 1099? Wouldn't it make sense to have answers before we give a 19 year old a wad of cash?
  10. Sabally is going through senior day? Is she leaving after this year?
  11. Off topic but just checked University of Texas softball is 5-4 on a three game losing streak.
  12. One of the best lines I have EVER seen!
  13. He came cheap. From Bruin Report Online Sources are indicating McGovern has agreed to a two-year contract worth about $900,000 over two years, or $450,000 annually. Outgoing defensive coordinator Jerry Azzinaro was paid $750,000 in 2021.
  14. Exactly. I used to be a much bigger fan of basketball than football. I cancelled the Pac-12 network years ago and now I seldom even watch the men's games. With only a couple exceptions every years starts with a bunch of strangers running around wearing Oregon uniforms, seldom functioning as a team. Maybe they cohere by years end (obviously not this year) but many will move on after the season. Rinse and repeat the following year. Basketball can be a thing of beauty. The Dillon Brooks and Sabrina teams were a joy to watch. Fluid movement and comradery on both ends of the court. Not the 2021-22 men's unit, I turned it off at halftime.
  15. Welcome to the world of the portal. No connection, no cohesion and often not many fans at the game.
  16. Look for UCLA to take a big step back. Their top edge rusher just became the 15th player to enter the portal since the end of the season. Nine defensive starters have exhausted eligibility or transferred.
  17. Late bloomer? Listed as a freshman so must have been a qualifier out of high school. Only started seven games. Team had four players average double figures, all clustered together at 13 ppg, two at 11.1 and 10.8. Roughly the same playing time as most starters at about 23 minutes a game. Team ended 24-4. Stats
  18. Copy of my post in another thread Abbreviated version from NCAA website, dated October 6, 2021 The Division I Council this week approved a one-year waiver of the annual signing limit and initial scholarship limits in football to allow schools to replace up to seven scholarship student-athletes who leave school after the first term... The waiver addresses concerns about potentially high numbers of college athletes transferring after all student-athletes were given the opportunity to compete immediately after transferring for the first time. It will apply at the end of the first term (students who depart on or after the earlier of the last day of the school's fall term or Dec. 15, 2021, which is the first day of the early National Letter of Intent signing period)... The waiver is effective immediately for the 2022-23 academic year only. The overall scholarship limit remains at 85 for the FBS and FCS. And, in the FCS, the limit of 63 scholarship equivalencies also remains in place. https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2021-10-06/di-council-approves-one-year-waiver-football-scholarship-limits
  19. Would probably be uncomfortable for all involved and I'm not sure it serves any purpose.
  20. Interesting move with limited scholarships available. They got the older brother of 2024 #1 edge Elijah Rushing to walk on. Is Lebbeus Overton really worth two full rides? https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/oregon-offers-liberty-transfer-dl-micaiah-overton
  21. A bit off topic but ASU defeating Arizona 81-77 brought a smile.
