We looked at going but from Phoenix to Indy RT, flights alone are $1,008 each. Plus hotel, rental car, decent tickets, food, etc, and we'd be looking at around $4k for the weekend. So no... that ain't gonna happen. Our big screen at home with family & friends will work very nicely.

I'd like to cordially invite the Big Ten to bring their championship game down to the sunny and warm Phoenix Arizona area. Nothing self serving about my invitation at all.

I'm over-the-top pleasantly surprised to see our offense put up 49 points against the Huskies. I was absolutely not expecting that. What a great way to go into the conference championship game. And our defense was, once again, nails. Plus, we scored a TD in the 3rd quarter!

When Oregon showed up in Indiana last July and busted out the massive inflatable Oregon Duck to float the White River in downtown Indianapolis... We kinda knew that this wasn't going to be your ol typical football season. That move required some serious cojones, and even bigger ones to back it up.

I was just about to say something similar. At that 1989 game, I think it took about 3 days to thaw out the coconuts. While it was miserable weather, I also have exceptionally fond memories as well. Although it took many more years, it was a turning point for our program... pre Uncle Phil. And I could not be more thankful knowing that we will never ever return to that bowl again. But we will leave an annual reservation there for the Huskies... because we're just that kind and nice.

100% agree. Both teams appeared to carry themselves with a level of pride, absolute competitiveness, and in the end, respectability. After watching that OSU - UM nightmare, I appreciate your post even more.
