  1. Not sure if what he just said above is the same thing but when you go to an article being able to go to the forum with a forum link button (yellow oval) instead of having to back out to the main page. Oh, and donuts 🍩 Charles. That would be yummy
  2. Year one may be rocky given early signing is upon us, but maybe some wait for Feb. with all the switcheroony going on. And, Lanning will probably pull a couple major transfer portal coups. I hope. We were #9 when MC bolted for the tropics, let's see where we finish in February. JC's and Transfers don't always show in the rankings either, the story could be rosier than what the 24/7 composite finishes with. I'm more concerned about good player development position coaches, and good scheming OC/DC. (Lanning will probably have a hand in Defense?). Year 2 (12 months from now) let's check the recruit rankings then!
  3. Until we see how he fills out his staff, it's too early to speculate. Then, we'll need at least one season to know for sure. At this juncture, my guess is Lanning will be an upgrade in almost every department. Player development will be the biggest key, which is why I'm not worried about most of the assistants leaving, as I think that was the biggest concern with MC. Coordinators and scheme, and MC's thwarting of Moorhead to do his thing may be more on MC than the assistants, but we got 10 win seasons and a Rose Bowl on pure talent alone. We did better than that with Belotti and Chip recruiting largely 3 star guys. MC set the talent bar way higher and had 4 years to "do something" but didn't--oh wait that was Taggart's motto. I think Lanning will shine in Eugene. Will he stay more than 3 or 4 years? We can only hope
  4. tOSU was a home & home but we lost ours at Autzen last year due to the plandemic
  5. I just saw that Jim Tressel was in Eugene this morning
  6. We've been overrun. I never go out in Bend. Remember the ODOT guys in the 80s who made a big official green highway sign on the Siskiyou Summit that said "Welcome to Oregon. Every third Californian will be shot". They somehow put it up at night. Supposedly never caught the real culprits
  7. Mt. Bachelor opening Monday, probably just Little Pine...but the bar will be open too! 29-48" predicted, hopefully they get at least the low end. It's about 5" deep right now. Red Chair won't open for a bit probably. But...as long as the Red Chair Beer is here 🍺!!! Time to wax the best board on Bachelor
  8. Dabo ain't leavin Clemson
  9. Heard Sitaki interviewed today as didn't go well, was unprepared and had no "plan". According to JHop...no clue how he'd know, does he have a hidden microphone? Seems like it's too early to get that info?
  10. Not a surprise, good luck to him. He and Lewis seemed to be neck and neck this year. We'll be ok as long as we have one or the other
  11. Thank you...why all these pundits that get paid to put crap out there...let's just wait and see first. And not Chip, please!
  12. Couldn't agree more, and other comments here sum it up. Can't recruit, won't recruit, everyone has caught up to the spread. No advantage. Can't believe all the CHIP stuff I'm seeing out there, must be nostalgia. Nostalgia won't win. 7-5 to 5-7 to 4-8 is what we'd see. No thanks
  13. If we don't lose too many, there is a ton of talent. A good recruiter can keep it going, fix some losses with transfers. But most of all...get someone who can coach, not just recruit. Develop talent, it's not automatic just because some service gave you 5 stars. MC and staff didn't seem to do that.
  14. Defenses have figured out the spread. Not the same splash it once was. Chip needed 4 years to get sUCLA to a bowl, in the fertile recruiting grounds of SoCal. Please, no...
  15. I thought about Wilcox, and a great OC...but could he an Musgrave kill it in recruiting?

We DO want someone that can compete in SoCal, Texas, and other places. MC did that, Florida and SEC country too. But, more importantly we need someone who can coach them up, and his staff. He'll be at FIU in 4 years
  17. If he keeps a lot of this staff, Miami will go 10-3 at best, even though he will load up on high 4 star and 5 star Florida talent. You gotta coach them up. Hasn't happened in 4 years at Oregon. Game management helps too. He'll be at FIU in 4 years
  18. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt there, but it's just added incentive

Read that Cristobal will hire Diaz as DC. Guy was a great DC before the HC gig. Maybe Diaz would come to Eugene as a DC, but who do we get as HC?
  20. Venables to OK and bringing Lebby. OK may get a title yet just not with Riley. Would have been a good pair but Kerby played at OK and Venables is one who could take OK into the SEC and recruit...and win. Fickell...kind of a bummer now he's in the playoff, lots of teams probably interested but too close to signing day. MC can go and please do take all the assistants, our recruiting is great but little player development that I've seen, need better coaches
  21. Gitta have a QB who can throw better...
