  1. When the game is played at the ACC home stadium, the TV contract is thru the ACC, not Notre Dame. Notre Dame's contract, with NBC, is for home games only. Notre Dame signed with the ACC in 2013 and the ACC signed their dumb TV deal in 2016. So, the deal was done with Notre Dame in mind for 6 games a season. Notre Dame is definitely an above average TV ratings team, but I have no idea why all the conferences cater to them.
  2. Oregon's partial shares are still more than what they would have received, if they held the rest of the P12 together. I'm sure the rest of the B1G are complaining about Northwestern and Rutgers receiving equal shares.
  3. The NBA made a rule, if you didn't play 66 games, you weren't eligible for awards. This can be a huge difference in salary. This was supposed to entice star players to play more games. The NBA allowed for extraordinary circumstances to allow Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham to be eligible, even though they didn't reach the required 66 games. Reduce the number of games from 82 to 72(?), this would eliminate back to back games and would reduce the workload for players, to hopefully get them to play more games. Of course, TV money says no. Less supply.
  4. Your proposal means it could be possible for two B1G TEN teams never play each other for the rest of the B1G TEN existence. The B1G TEN will never allow that to happen. It is unfortunate that we/college football have unbalanced schedules, but even the NFL has unbalance schedules. There are too many teams to try and create a balance schedule. We already talk about the B1G and SEC being better than all the other leagues in football. One could argue teams from the B1G/SEC have the most NIL money have an unfair advantage. It would be nice to have more balanced schedules between the "top" teams in the B1G, but with the requirement of playing all teams within a certain time frame makes it unlikely.
  5. Looks like a couple of teams are overpaying their QB. I'd rather pay what our player is worth, not their potential.
  6. College football is big business. I remember the Chip Kelly train and when it ran off the tracks with Mark Helfrich. The athletic department is going to push the price of tickets as high as possible, while still selling out. When the train went off the rails and the stadium wasn't selling out, it was amazing how flat the ticket price was for those couple of years. When demand is higher than supply, it doesn't matter what it is, the price is going to go higher. One can hope, when the Ducks do make equal TV revenue money, they will be able to ease off a little on the continual raising of athletic ticket prices.
  7. When the 4 PAC 12 teams arrived, the B1G TEN did reveal which teams each team would play for the 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 seasons. Big Ten ConferenceBig Ten ConferenceThe official athletics website for Big Ten ConferenceThere is no way to balance schedules with 18 teams. It isn't possible for all the other B1G TEN teams to play all 4 west coast teams. The B1G TEN is looking out for its own interests as well. Do we really want to see Oregon, tOSU, Michigan, Indiana, Penn St. all play each other every year? When the schedule was revealed in 2023, did anybody think the 2025 schedule was going to be tough for the Ducks? It was essentially Penn St. Even with Indiana, last seasons schedule wasn't exactly murders row. After the opening week, the Ducks only had Penn St. and Indiana as ranked opponents on the schedule. There are going to be seasons where the Ducks have an easier schedule than others. I do hope the B1G TEN do rotate the BYE weeks though. It does look like the B1G TEN did do a better job of having teams play each other after both have BYES.
  8. It is funny how a lot of talking heads are screaming bloody murder over this, yet it is crickets for the MLB players not getting in. There are different levels of cheating, but Bill is a cheater. I'd put him in along with all the MLB guys and explain about his cheating past.
  9. Safety rules and all of that. However, the Empire State building was completed in just under 14 months. March 17, 1930 - April 11, 1931. Things can be built much faster, but all the safety inspections required slows things way down. Unfortunately, University of Oregon can't have city, state and federal inspectors onsite 24/7. It is hurry up and build, then wait for inspectors. Hurry up and build, then wait for inspectors.
  10. I am glad Dante is coming back and I think he has a ton of upside. I just hope he keeps progressing reading defenses and making the right read. Too many times he just throws the ball because that is what the play calls for. He didn't even process the defender being right on top of his WR. I was quite surprised Dante didn't have more INTs on the WR screens or quick out passes.
  11. I have a ton of friends, who are Eagles fans, and not one had a single good thing to say about Kevin Patullo.
  12. I can't remember where I read it, but college QBs drafted in the 1st round tend to have a sweet spot of number of starts for success in the NFL. I think the number of starts is between 25-35 for their college career. I think 1 more year would be a benefit to Dante, but having a guaranteed 40+ mil is hard to turn down. I hope the right people are talking to him and show him a long career vs a short career is a better choice.
  13. They CFP has been committed to trying to keep with tradition. They give preference to the 1 seed and go down. Rose Bowl - Pac 12/B1G TEN Sugar Bowl - SEC/Big 12 Orange Bowl - ACC Cotton Bowl - SEC/Big 12 Indiana tOSU UGA TT Indiana gets the Rose Bowl because they are #1 and from the B1G. tOSU gets the Cotton Bowl because it is the next closest venue to them. UGA gets the Orange Bowl because they are from the SEC. TT gets whatever is left over. The CFP doesn't care about the traveling fans. Butts in seats is pennies on the dollar when it comes to money making for the CFP.
  14. At the end of the article Steven mentioned, I hope the Ducks win 14 games this season. I would prefer 15, so the Ducks win the title, not just make the title game. 🙂
  15. I get head to head has to matter, but it can't be absolute. Miami squeaked by Notre Dame with a 3 point win, even though ND had 2 TOs vs none to Miami. That isn't total dominance. Massey SOS Miami 50 Notre Dame 29 ESPN SOS Miami 48 Notre Dame 34 ESPN FPI Miami 10 (19.0) Notre Dame 3 (24.9) ESPN SP+ Miami 11 (20.2) Notre Dame 5 (24.3) Every computer score says Notre Dame is the better team over Miami. If Miami had won by 14+, then it is a different story.
