Will Lanning Run-It-Up to Make a Statement?
This is where I stand. Boise State is a good team. Our starters need a lot of real game reps before USC. No matter the score, starters will play at least 3 quarters (with normal rotations). Plenty of opportunity to put in the 3s and 4s with Portland State to see who shines.

The 2026 Preseason AP Poll Is Out - 1st Impressions - Mine and I Hope Yours
I think many voters, with good reason, put anOSU in first and the Ducks in second because they play this year in oHIo. If they evenly matched and the home field is worth 3 points... If the Ducks come out of there with a one point win, the voters will switch the top two spots... ¡Then on to the B1G Championship game! (¿Another flip-flop?) ¡Then on to the National Championship game! Will three games decided by a total of 5 points really solve anything? If the Ducks come out on top in such a scenario I can't imagine whining coming out of Columbus.

Marsh Duck - Does Dan Lanning Have a Big Game Problem?
Thanks David! I don't think Lanning has a big game problem. As you point out, he has won big games. His first "big game loss" came against anOSU, but only after they beat that eventual national champion anOSU in the regular season. THAT was also a big game. After that game, once again, people were saying that Ryan Day still had a big game problem. Soooo, everyone thought that it was a big game. Lanning is still growing. Hopefully, he will continue to grow throughout his career. Nothing to see here. Can't wait to see Dan hoist the National trophy. That's just a saying. Of course I can and will wait... because I believe it will happen.

How Much Longer Can Greg Sankey Hold Off Going to a 24-Team PO
This is something I would vote for... ...however, if they were only top 13 or 14 there would have to be some other compelling reasons to let them into the playoff.

Ducks Suing Dakota Fields for $39K.
Not sure on how to come down on this. I´m not against the university suing. I´m happy they agreed to ask for $10,000 less than the contract required. It seems a little ticky-tack to be suing because the payment wasn´t received on time. I didn´t read all the details behind the paywall, but if they did receive the money, albeit late, why not drop the suit? This might be a bad look.

GameDay Thread and POST-GAME THOUGHTS of the 2026 Oregon Spring Football Game...
One great thing when they go into fall camp... Our reconstructed O-Line will be going against one of the absolute best D-Lines in college football. That alone should forge them into a very good O-Line.

QUAAAACCK!! Will Mencl IS A DUCK!
True indeed! But last year we (collectively) had a hard time believing Brock Thomas was the best. I think we are starting to see now that he must have been.

GameDay Thread and POST-GAME THOUGHTS of the 2026 Oregon Spring Football Game...
Brock was obviously ahead of Akili on this outing. He seems to be playing so well that I wonder if they are thinking to redshirt Raiola next year (he can play in 8 games, depending on how deep of a run the Ducks make), playing BT as the number 2 QB on most outings???? That would give Raiola 2 years to start if he needed/wanted them.

Quack! Quack! Dayton Raiola Commits to Oregon, Reunited With Brother in Eugene
It's not just the talent coming out of high school that matters. Indiana proved that the last two years. How good are the players now? How well do the units play together? How good is the team as a cohesive whole? Bryce Boettcher didn't add anything to Oregon's star ratings, but he will be drafted into the NFL in a couple months. A talented roster doesn't just mean what the team members were 3 years ago. How are they today?

Are You Ready for Some Football ???
For us old guys time already flies by too fast. Now you say spring game is just around the corner -- April 25... AAAAAaaaaAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa. I have too much to do before April 25. I'd like to think I have plenty of time, but it is JUST AROUND THE CORNER! At least, when I am disappointed that I couldn't get everything done, I'll have the Spring Game to watch!

Unbelievable…Same SEC Stuff, Different Day
Thanks Jon. Of course, you are "preaching to the choir". This article would never fly south of the Mason-Dixon. The only thing I don't like about "Plan" is all of the automatic qualifiers. It feels no different than saying the SEC is the best, therefore they should have had all the teams they were trying to argue and whine into the field this last playoff. The Plan calls for two automatic qualifiers for the ACC. They barely got one in this last year, and that only because the the committee reversed their half season long putting ND in front of Miami. If it was up to ND, the ACC would not have had any qualifiers... And I am FINE with that... if they don't deserve it. I do think that Miami deserved it, but did a SECOND team? If we were in the Plan, the ACC would have their two highest ranked teams when other teams could have deserved it more. I don't think the SEC or the B1G deserve 4 automatic qualifiers if the top 4 teams in the Big 12 are ranked higher. Yeah, Yeah... but anything can happen. Two G6 teams were qualifiers this year because both were ranked higher than the ACC Champion. Anything can happen.

Raiola's Timeline for Recovery
I do not fear. If Raiola can't "get it" he won't be starting. All you have to do is look to last year. We went out and got the best running back in the portal. We no doubt paid him a ton of money. He hardly saw the field because we had two true freshmen that were better than he. Next year he'll be toting the rock for someone else. Hopefully, he will "get it" there.
