3 hours ago3 hr Moderator No. Here's the O line depth chart as listed in the forum links. I'm no O line expert so I don't know if some of the names aren't actually in this order or are injured or playing different positions than listed. But with that said based on this info. Where is the problem?Left TackleAddison (So) 4 Star"Nacho" (Fr) 5 StarLeft GuardUtu (So) 5 StarRogers (Sr) 3 StarCenterLaloulu (Sr) 4 StarBrooks (Jr) 4 StarRight GuardIuli (Sr) 4 StarBennet (Sr) 3 StarManning (So) 4 StarRight TackleCrader (Jr) 4 StarTofi (Fr) 4 StarWilson (Sr) 3 StarStascausky (So) 4 StarAgain, where's the problem? Sure there could be a bust here or there. That happens all the time but this roster is chalked full of 4-5 star guys clear across the line in the two deep. With this much talent you should be able to field a competent squad. If it's not the players then it has to be the coaching. Then I'd need it explained to me how the same coach that has put together award finalist lines year after year has suddenly forgotten how to do it. That just doesn't make sense. That would then lead to the plays being called. Are the schemes so bad that a star studded line with an elite coach all of a sudden can't block themselves out of a wet paper bag? What gives?I'm much more confused than angry. Can anyone explain the problem? The math just isn't mathing in my brain.
3 hours ago3 hr No. Star rating??? Raiola was a 5 star, did he look like that yesterday to you? Did any of those linemen look 4 star?

Did any of those linemen look 4 star?Non of it looks even 1 star and that's the question. It's hard to believe ten 4/5 star guys have all been so highly over rated. Even if some are, it's hard to believe you couldn't piece together a decent line out ten 4/5 star guys. It's hard to believe a coach with as much success as Terry couldn't get good results with 3 star guys. It's all hard to believe which is why I pose the question.
2 hours ago2 hr Author Moderator No. I hate to say it but with all the non mathing math, it feels like the coaching staff is just cashing checks and mailing it in. It also feels like the highly paid NIL guys are doing the same. With NIL not being tied to actual performance, this has always been the danger in this scenario. Three out of four of Oregon's next games will be against two dangerous up and coming teams (Nebraska and Northwestern) and an old school road grader (tOSU). Things could get real ugly fast.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Raiola, after pinpointing passes again USC, could not hit the broad side of a barn yesterday. How a guy with his talent played that way is unexplainable. Dante, even healthy, has problems when pressured and lacks some aggressiveness. Both QB's are talented. The bottom line to me, I suspect this team is loaded with talent but has some really lousy coaching. For a program that is looking for a NC to obtain blue blood elite status....it is a shame because these type teams don't come every year. 7 turnovers.....seriously!
1 hour ago1 hr No. Wasn't there a heavy turnover from last year, thus a lack of experience and, from that, a lack of unity?
1 hour ago1 hr No. Geoff Schwartz was talking about the O-line on his Sunday morning radio show.Essentially he said every play on offense there was at least one mental error/missed assignment. He indicated the coaches were frustrated during the game because as soon as they pulled someone for screwups, someone else would screw up. It wasn't like they could fix the problem by pulling one guy who was having a bad game. So, who is responsible for the mental discipline of individual players when apparently so many of them were having screwups?
34 minutes ago34 min No. I suspect NIL issues are central to this conundrum. As others on this forum have mentioned, dealing with paid players (some much more lucratively than others) is entirely new for college coaches, and creates a whole new set of issues to work out. (Like, "Why is the guy next to me on the o-line making double what I'm making?" or, "Why is he rich and I'm broke?") Compound this with new coordinators on both sides of the ball, and you have a recipe for an overwhelmed coaching staff.Anyway, that's my opinion for what might be going on with the offensive line play—that and the fact that most of OBD o-linemen look weak, slow, and unmotivated.Go Ducks.
