  2. Dan L, you are a great poster and member of this forum, so I do not want to give you the wrong impression. I cannot go into those games again…not anything related to you and your honest question, but due to MY issues and where my head is at this time. Those have been analyzed and discussed here extensively, and this is a different team in 2026—one that has the highest potential on both sides of the ball. I don’t want to go through the past negative again; I want to focus on the excitement of this team and the upcoming games. Perhaps others here can offer their perspectives…
  3. Opinion: second loss to Ohio State - poor preparation by coaches, it appeared the Ducks staff expected a repeat of the earlier game and that Ohio State would not make adjustments on offense or defense. It's like the coaches only watched film of the first game. second loss to Indiana - the loss of Ducks running back experience has not received the attention it deserved, both for carries and blocking. Then, when the deficit reached 21-7, I think the whole team - offense and defense - panicked, including a befuddled coaching staff. both - playing from behind is apparently not Lanning's forte.
  4. We are 3 weeks from Duck football! A new season is fast approaching and I've been wondering all this off season: What's the real reason for the last 2 seasons ending in such huge losses. 13 wins each season. Great recruiting. Exciting teams. Top rated offensive line 3 years in a row. More players drafted each year. No problems with the law( well, nothing too major). Three assistants to head coaches. All that, and then 2 major disappointments. What have I got to complain about?! So please help me understand, what is the reason for these 2nd time around thrashings. Is it coaching? Experience? Is it just one of those things?

  6. DUCK SPORTS CENTRAL EXPANDS ITS REACH THROUGH NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH DUCKS RISINGThe partnership adds two exclusive weekly columns and a new audience for Duck Sports Central while leaving both its free and premium coverage unchangedThere are times when growing something means changing it. This is not one of those times. I am excited to announce that Duck Sports Central has entered into a new content partnership with Ducks Rising, one that will allow much of the work I already produce to reach a larger Oregon audience while also giving me the opportunity to join the Ducks Rising team as a special columnist with two exclusive columns each week. For readers of Duck Sports Central, however, the most important part of this announcement is probably the simplest: Nothing about the coverage you already receive is going away or changing. 8. "Did you bring enough guys?" Todd Hockney, The Usual Suspects CBS Sports' Blake Brockermeyer ranks the top 150 CFB players in 2026. He does not rank incoming 1st-year players, who used to be referred to as 'Freshmen' before the change to 5 seasons to play 5 years of eligibility. Blake predicts a National Championship for OBD in 2026. 39 Big Ten players are ranked, including these 10 Ducks - 2. QB Dante Moore/ 22. DT A'Mauri Washington/ 30. RB Dierre Hill Jr./ 36. CB Brandon Finney/ 51. WR Dakorian Moore/ 64. TE Jamari Jackson/ 77. Edge Teitum Tuioti/ 117. OG Dave Iuli/ 125. Edge Matayo Uiagalelei/ 137. S Koi Perich. Hey Cisco, where's Poncho? Washington 22 is too low. Finney 36 behind No. 5 Notre Dame CB Leonard Moore, who will face two, or maybe three, decent passing attacks in 2026? Blake has RB Davison sidelined 'for a few months,' which, based on updated information, is pessimistic. A nice ranking for Dierre Hill that is based on expectations and not on 2025 production. FYI - Oklahoma State QB Drew Mestemaker is ranked 10th, and RB Caleb Hawkins is ranked 101. No. 1 - Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith. 9. This is a "maturing-early" kind of player, as he looks like he could compete at Oregon right now, instead of his senior year of high school.

  11. Brayton Feister is a Rivals 4-Star, and visited Oregon three times, while he visited Penn State and Notre Dame twice, and USC, Michigan, Cal and Georgia once. This puts Oregon at No. 4 in the nation on the Rivals national ranking, just above Ohio State. We have 17 Blue-Chips verballed, which is pretty darn good. When we add a few portal transfers later--it will be another leading class!

  13. Oregon caps off loaded recruiting class with commitment from elite LB Brayton FeisterThe Ducks have built a dominant defensive identity under Dan Lanning, and recruiting wins like Feister will only continue that trend. If all stays the same, Oregon will sign 7 top 150 recruits on defense alone which is as big of a win as you could get for the coaching staff. 15. Fox Sports has informed the NFL that it will not revise the current broadcast deal earlier than the conclusion of the current deal in 2030. The NFL has 80 of the 100 most-watched sporting events every season and is the broadcast priority for Fox, CBS, NBC, and Disney-ABC-ESPN. How much broadcast money will be available at the conclusion of the current B1G broadcast contract in June, 2030? The $100 million per year in broadcast money for every B1G program under the next broadcast agreement may be optimistic. More conference consolidation, more streaming, the biggest CFB brands going independent, Amazon and others bidding for CFB inventory, the Power 4 collectively selling or producing their own streamed game inventory with money split based on success on the field and court and the number of people watching your games, the playoff staying as is or returning to four teams for CFB and 64 or fewer teams for CBB? It's going to be an interesting fight for dollars, especially with the NFL considering expansion in the USA and abroad.

  17. Oregon Ducks leap Mario Cristobal, Miami in 2027 recruiting rankingsThe Oregon Ducks got a big-time recruiting win on Friday morning, and they happened to score a secondary win over two of their former coaches while at it. Live on the Pat McAfee Show, 4-star linebacker Brayton Feister announced his commitment to the Ducks, choosing Dan Lanning's squad over the Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, and California Golden Bears. While Feister's choice of Oregon over Cal gives Lanning a win over former defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, it also moved the Ducks up in the national recruiting rankings. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/recruiting/2026/08/14/oregon-ducks-2027-recruiting-rankings-feister-commitment/91302215007/

  19. Thank you, Charles. FWIW, of the 12 B1G teams I've looked at so far, eight would be bowl-eligible with six or more wins. In 2025, every P4 conference had six teams that won five or fewer games. The SEC was so deep that 37.5% of the conference needed SCUBA gear. 😁
  20. FLOCK TALK: POWER WITH, NOT POWER OVERThrough seven fall camp practices, Oregon’s player-led culture is becoming easier to see, not in speeches or slogans, but in who teaches, who corrects and who brings someone else along.Seven practices into Oregon’s fall camp, I am becoming less interested in hearing this described as Dan Lanning’s most player-led team and more interested in watching what that actually looks like. There have been enough practices now for some of the opening-week energy to wear off. Players are tired, the installation has grown and position battles are moving closer to producing actual consequences. Younger players are being asked to process more football at the same time their bodies are beginning to feel August, and veterans who already understand the expectations are being asked to help somebody else reach them.
