The one thing I missed until I watched this video is that when Stephens was dancing around mocking Dante & Oregon, as he's moving backwards across the goal line, he then flips off the fans with both hands. It would be really difficult for this guy to have done anything worse than he did out there. Stay classy, USC

USC 2026 = Penn State 2025. And there is something awfully sweet about the fact that USC got exactly the guy they wanted from Oklahoma, and he's only won 25% of his games against ranked opponents. And that $70 Million dollar buyout is just fabulous.

Drew Mehringer can call an excellent game. Separately, I think Moore and Dylan are probably a wash. Moore's best is better than Raiola's and Raiola's worst is likely better than Moore's. Moore was playing too conservative early in the game, but he did have us in scoring position to go ahead when he was injured.

Not sure was growth as the other times he went for it in a past life he didn't trust our defense, and Saturday he didn't trust our OL and knew he'd have another chance at more points getting the ball after halftime. We do agree he made the right call Saturday to take the points.

The group feels like they are settling down and building chemistry. They get a bye this week to continue to build. I think building in more blockers at times helped stabilize them. It doesn't need to be a whole season thing but helping them get their legs is a big deal. Especially when other teams feel they can target that unit and rush them.

And if that's the case... Dan needs to go portal shopping. It's worked for us before so I am less concerned than I used to be about the matter.

USC has better athletes (probably more of their roster will go to the NFL) but UCLA is better coached for sure. In this case the better coached team is the more dangerous.

Since 2020 Missouri is 8-20 against ranked teams. They have been ranked themselves in 31 of the last 39 polls. They are No. 25 in this week's AP poll. 2020: 5-7 2021: 6-7 2022: 6-7 2023: 11-2 2024: 10-3 2025: 8-5 2026: 3-1 Would they have the advantage of SEC bias for ranking in the ACC or Big12, or Big Ten?

David, great article and I like how you brought up Raiola's pocket presence. He doesn't run to one sideline and cut off half the field. He steps up and does quick steps to the side while looking downfield. Love it!

Agreed! USC continues to prove that they are as despicable as we believe them to be. I hope Dante recovers completely and can play freely when he returns. He already felt like a hesitant runner. Now, I'm very worried he'll be even more skittish (understandable so). Your Gators are looking good. Hope they have a deep run into the playoffs.

Riley is turning the SUC program around on his own timeline. I say give him another five years to finish the job. If that doesn't do it then give him another five years.

David, you bring up the unspoken topic. Dylan looked really good. He clearly benefited from the reps he got against PSU. No guarantee that Dante comes back soon. Dan Lanning will probably have a difficult decision in the near future. Another thought. If Dylan Raiola wins the starting role, and plays well, we could lose QB 1 and 2 at the end of this season.

Great article David. After that hit, Dante will always be a Duck legend and deserves much love and respect. Raiola on the other hand, has that it factor that I've been saying is lacking with Moore. There's a reason the offense could never get out of second gear in Stillwater and the first twenty minutes of the game in LA. When every play is either a run or a checkdown pass or some type of screen, the D is always bunched up by the line and several defenders will always be near by to make a play. With the offense having a more and more difficult time moving the ball, they then get even more cautious which just makes things worse. When the field opens up, defenders get put on islands having to deal with elite play makers one on one in space. Another benefit is that the check down plays become truly dangerous as the D has already been spread out and few defenders are available to stop them. That's why Moore's cautious style stagnates the offense while Raiola looks more like the Duck legends of the past. Again I hope Dante makes a full recovery and have nothing but appreciation for the guy but if the Ducks want to reach max potential this year then Raiola is the guy.
