  4. from the CBS story link: "By elevating Stubblefield to interim head coach status, Oregon's players cannot enter the transfer portal for 31 days -- not until Nov. 7. This rule was put in place to give the interim coach the time and opportunity to retain players." My add...if Stubblefield had been immediately named permanent head coach, the 15-day portal start would have been accelerated to 5 days after the announcement....i.e. 5 days from Oct. 7. It would have started Oct. 12 instead of Nov. 7. The interim tag gives the program more time to communicate with players about staying, though I suppose it also gives more competitor programs time to talk quietly with agents until the portal starts.

  6. I was going to write about safety play and offensive line play... but frankly I feel like I have written about the offensive line every week! And I did already this week on Monday and I wrote about the safeties too! So trying not to sound like a complete broken record with every article I left those two out. I do agree with everyone who has mentioned safety and offensive line that they are two positions that we must watch this weekend as well! Thank you all for reading and subscribing. I'm at 69 subscribers so far and I knew this was going to be one of those grow slow things but my readership is averaging higher than ever and the subs are growing with every article. Thank you all for helping grow this and I do love the discussions here!
  7. With UCLA's schedule to date, I don't believe in the Bruins. https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/bob-chesney-has-ucla-believing-again-now-comes-the-real-test-no-13-oregon-140822380.html

  11. David, thank you for your thoughts in your article. And to all those who post. Good stuff........ I agree that OBD's must shut down the Bruins run game. Make them beat you thru the air! It sounds easy, right? But it is not easy. Loading the box will work as long as the Ducks hold the Edge. Force the Bruin runners inside into the middle of the meat of the Ducks D line. Don't let them bounce outside. Do not let them bounce outside. Force the Bruins into passing situations. Move their QB off his mark, disrupt his timing. Look out for screem passes early. And contain their QB....... Execute your assignment. Trust your team mates to handle their assignments This should be the Duck Defenses coming out party. 6 or more starters on the Duck D will play on Sunday. It is time to show up, show out, and make a statement. You want to be an NFL player then play like one! Go Ducks.......
  12. I would like to thank Coach Altman for everything he did for the Oregon basketball program and wish him the best. I hope his health issues are nothing too serious.
  13. Guaranteed Contracts? Really? There is a specific reason we start experienced QBs. It's called potential will get me fired. Why are teams paying kids who don't even understand the game millions of dollars? They aren't selling tickets. And correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't seen a freshman QB win a Natty this Century. That's because coaches are way ahead of any freshman stepping foot on a football field. These schools are acting as foolish as NFL teams. Money Ball. It's time to start acting like the Patriots and the Steelers. They always make the playoffs, they pay players like the employees they are, and their cultures breed excellence. Kinda sick of entitled athletes thinking they can create a whole ecosystem and generate the kind of demand to pay their salaries by themselves.
  14. Ducks win 45-31 2 - TO 3 - Sacks 279 passing yards Go Ducks. This is the first game that the Ducks must win to move up in polls and be in the CFP conversation
  15. Oregon 42-10 2 Turns 2 sacks 295 passing yards I think this is going to get ugly fast. Oregon will load the box and be able to stop the run. Nico is not going to be able to beat Oregon with his arm. Roderick Pleasant and Scooter Jackson have good stats against nobody. I don’t see them being able to stay 1:1 with Stewart and Moore. Oregon puts this one away early, then leans on the run game in the 4th quarter.
