  1. Past hour
  2. Starting with JMU up to now… Defense last two quarters vs JMU Four quarters vs Indiana Four quarters vs BSU Four quarters vs Ok. State Offense… Four quarters vs Texas Tech Four quarters vs Indy Four quarters vs BSU Four quarters vs Ok. State Lose last two out of three… After today did not hear Lanning say he needs to coach better. This team could win 11 could win 5. USC is the make or break. Have to win BIG to get to CFP. Doubt it happens. Downward trend…
  3. I think it is the coaches that need to have their perks stripped and not the players. I thought the players played hard but the coaches failed them. A coach should put their players in the best possible situations to win and coach Lanning did not do that today. His decision to go for it while deep in our own territory was just plain stupid.
  4. It's never as bad as it looks either. There is a world where Ok State is in the B12 title game and Finishes in the top 20 right beside Boise State. It's flat out unfair for players with bodies conditioned to 60-70 degree dry air to suddenly play in 97 degree ultra high humidity air. It melts your brains and turns your muscles to jello. They were out in it way too long with the lightning delay to boot after getting up at 4am. Remember all the bad games against Arizona teams in November in the PAC12 when it was summer weather in AZ but we were used to fall weather? I believe it's harder to play good going from mild to too hot l, than going from mild to super cold. The game is over and so yes I'm making excuses, but this horrible loss is not inexplicable. We certainly have issues to fix with the inexperienced players, but if BSU and Ok State are really good and the weather impacted our players as badly as I have experienced before, there is still a possibility for this team to be really good this year. Natty? no, but playoffs? still possible. Next game.. Lastly I hope Carl Williams is okay, they showed him getting knocked out cold and he could barely even walk after he woke up. Tough to see.
  5. The real weaknesses of this team are the Lines. I cant believe how bad the D line is considering the experience and the O line is just awful. My Grandma could get through them but our backs cant find a hole.
  6. Actually, the social media stuff was really good this week, and the uniform reveal was to die for.
  7. He's had 4 years to learn when to go for it on 4th down, he still consistently gets it wrong, we haven't completed one I believe this year, that's atrocious, he isn't going to learn. I do think he still is the best guy for the job, because I don't think we can get better. I don't think anybody is advocating for Lanning to be looked at the end of this season, but it would be nice to see him realize he can't always be this aggressive, and I would also like to see him take over some responsibilities when it comes to defensive play-calling. He needs to own that side of the ball.
  8. I liked a few of them when they were new, but I don't watch a single one at this point, it's all fluff, it would be nice to actually care about the whole "bring a lunchpail". If I was Lanning I would strip the players this week of every perk they get. Have the meetings in some cafeteria on campus using the little school seats with the desks attached to them, make them change in the visiting locker room or even better make them go to student rec center, make them actually have to earn those perks back, but I'm sure it'll be business as usual, there won't be any consequences for this, they'll just complain that it was hot and it was early start.
  9. He's as good as we can get for now. He's still young, so question is if he will learn from mistakes, or has he peaked? I think he will get better.
  10. I expected to see progression from last week. Instead, I saw regression everywhere, except special teams. Thats coaching. Unfortunately, I suspect we've seen DL's ceiling.
  11. Once upon a time we lost to PSU game one and went to the Rose Bowl. This team, hmm, just so much wrong.
  12. If I were offering DL my sage advice I would suggest banning cameras from the practice facilities. The hype machine has run its course.
  13. And it was the second one following an equally poor decision to go for it on 4th and 7 just inside the 50 yard line. Your defense was just beginning to show signs of life. That one changed the remainder of the game IMHO.
  14. Lets just hope Boise St doesn't lose a bunch of games
  15. I think this take is correct by Geoff. This is arguably the worst loss in Oregon history.
  16. I said after last week's game that maybe hiring from within wasn't the best idea. Both sides of the ball have regressed greatly. While it is not the end of the season, it is time to keep an eye out for an offensive and defensive coordinator, just in case.
  17. The Oregon-Nike hype machine has way more than lost its charm.
  18. I still say that we have a decent chance to bounce back next Saturday against PSU. After watching this program 54 years, I will say that this is one of the more shocking losses that I can remember. I'm stunned by this one and absolutely tired of all the hype.
  19. I don't care about the playoffs, I really don't at this point, I just want a winning season, that's how bad we look. I have so little confidence in the coaches at this point, they are consistently awful in preparation. We get by with talent, not with scheme or coaching.
  20. Drew Mestemaker silences critics as he outduels Dante Moore, leads Oklahoma State to stunning win over OregonDrew Mestemaker silences critics as he outduels Dante Moo...Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker won his doubters over with a gritty performance that led to a 39-31 win over Oregon on Saturday afternoon. He passed for 317 yards and ran for 109.
  21. Stunned in Stillwater: No. 6 Oregon Falls to Oklahoma State 39-31On3Stunned in Stillwater: No. 6 Oregon Falls to Oklahoma Sta...Dante Moore and the No. 6 Oregon Ducks lost to the Oklahoma State Cowboys 39-31 in Stillwater for the first win of the Eric Morris era.
  22. For the first time in all the years we have been doing this...the winner is NOBODY. There was not a single prediction for the Cowboys, and that is the most fundamental element of the prediction. And I am not justifying "who was closest" from there... Our Beloved Ducks have messed a lot of things up, but I will still be a devoted fan and keeping things going here. Instead of just reading posts? How about YOU start a thread, and keep things active here?
  23. Maybe Lanning was thinking the defense had very little chance of stopping OSU? Still, you have to punt there, or at least call timeout if your players look confused before the ball is snapped. That play had no chance from the start.
  24. ...and I would. But do I want him coaching my BD? I no longer know.
  25. Perhaps a coaching staff that has fallen short of preparing the team to come ready to play. A coaching staff that has not built intensity within the players. It appears that defensively that both BSU and OSU players were in the Ducks offensive huddle and knew the exact play the Ducks were running. Is the new OC play calling predictable? The hype is done, the rubber has hit the road and the Ducks are playing with one or two flat tires. All the Duck goals for this season are out in front of them. I wonder if the coaches and players are willing to make the changes needed to reach them. What a let down this game was for most everyone. Go Ducks......
  26. I'd like to see the Ducks soften up on all the glamorous PR videos. It's ok periodically. It gets a little old seeing Dan's rah rah motivational speaking. It's been an overkill in my opinion.
