In fairness, I seem to remember a similar meltdown going on with some fans here a couple weeks ago…

FWIW, I think it should be JJ’s job to lose. If he beeps performing at the level he is performing at, why would anyone want to replace him? Whoever called the 44 to 10 fake punt is a freaking genius! That had to be the play of the game! It certainly changed the momentum of November 7 in the Shoe!

No, the OC position at Oregon demands a serious search. Two games is way too small a sampling to draw any conclusions beyond JJ being better than Mehringer. JJ can be a part of that search, and he's got the rest of the season to boost his resume.

Thanks, getting pretty beat up right now. But that win feels really good.

Hope yer feelin better brother

Lanning deserves his flowers. He has put on a clinic of how to coach a football team in an imperfect situation. We have watched this guy coach his absolute backside off. He has taken it on the chin and kept getting off the mat. Over and over again. We have seen him look compleatly lost, almost in tears, fear of what he has to say to his players and family. He has lost significant players to injury. Delt with criminal activity of players and assistant coaches. Had a bad hire and had to take action mid season. Fans and some in media calling for his job. He has stayed true to himself, God, team and family all the way through. And he just kept punching up, never quit. I don't know what happens from here, but I love this man. So so proud of him. He has earned his right to coach this Oregon Ducks. He has taken this season to a level few get an opportunity to. He will come out the other side stronger and better as coach, a man, father and husband then he ever intended to be when he started this adventure. Win or lose, Lanning is my Coach. And the depth of that meaning makes my eyes sweaty. Go Ducks! God willing, let's get it done this year.

To answer this question... No, Jay Johnson should not be the OC next season. However, maybe he becomes our full time QB coach... but maybe not depending. Hell maybe he even gets a Co-OC title. But we need new ideas in the program. Expirence has once again shown how it plays out on the field. He stayed calm and kept at it and things broke open. First quarter kinda sucked ... The slow starts aren't great but this defense can step up and cover when it needs to and the offense can build a lead and let the defense breathe. I kinda feel like we were playing Mike Leach again at the end of the fourth with Day trying his darnest to make a game out of it.

I don’t know. He has done a great job and should be considered but not anointed.

Well, Dana Holgorson is available, and he coached Dylan Raiola at Nebraska. On second thought. 🤮 Fire JJ? No 🤬🤬🤬Way!

After consulting Mr. A. I., I believe an all-time college football record was set today when a defensive end completed a pass to another defensive end on a perfectly executed fake punt. FIRST DOWN! I could watch that play all Day, just Sayin. 😍

JJ has exceeded expectations so far. It shows how terrible coach Meh is. But I wouldn't go so far as making him the OC yet, until we win out and make a deep run into the PO with a decent offense. Short of that, we should still do a proper search.

Speaking of...where are those bandwagon fans? Was looking for them when OBD took a commanding lead! You should see Ohio State's fans. A nuclear meltdown is going on in Buckeye Nation. I've never seen so many crybabies in my entire life. They want to fire Ryan Day again!

With Raiola no less.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day discusses the 41-28 loss to Oregon at Ohio Stadium.

Dan Lanning postgame press conference after Ohio State.

Amid Oregon's shortcomings in 2026, Dan Lanning is turning in his best performance yet as Ducks coachOregon might fall short of a national title, but navigating a QB crisis, firing an offensive coordinator and stunning Ohio State represents the best coaching job of Lanning's career https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/dan-lanning-oregon-coaching-performance-2026-season/

Jay Johnson is doing an excellent job to be honest. Not perfect, but very good. If he had the luxury of a Bo Nix or Dante Moore on-field coach to audible out of some bad looks, it may have been close to perfect after the 1st quarter. That being said, I don't trust him with his record. He can earn himself an OC job again somewhere else. The nationwide search should continue.

The virtually empty stadium late in the game was phenomenal.

🤔 Hmm, Two in a row for Oregon playing Ohio State at their home field. Go Ducks! Just a couple of fun videos at Ohio State's expense:

Another rollercoaster game(pregame vid reference), in a roller coaster season. Will the bandwagon fans have sore ankles?

Well that was unexpected, and painfully slow developing. But wow! DL's best motivation job yet?

When we went ahead 17-14 I was going to celebrate with a Duck Fart, I decided to wait until the end of the game. I only had one shot of Kaluha. Glad I saved it. It was sweet.
