  1. This was as good a shot in a major tournament in the history of the game. Talk about threading the needle. Amazing!
  2. Thanks, H. That was four hours in the dentist's chair without an anesthetic. He needed every one of his six-shot lead on a torture track of a golf course. So many moments when he could have folded. But his putter stayed hot and he made many clutch par saves. A gut check win a year after last year's US Open embarrassment. A validating second major championship for Clark. 🦆🦆😍 https://www.golfchannel.com/usga/news/wyndham-clark-wins-second-u-s-open-title-prevailing-at-shinnecock-hills Golf ChannelWyndham Clark wins second U.S. Open title, prevailing at...Wyndham Clark lost a six-shot lead Sunday at Shinnecock, but didn't lose the U.S. Open. He added this one to his victory in 2023 at LACC.
  3. Certainly understand your point. Clark screwed up. He busted up two lockers one year ago and sought help for his anger issues. Both his temperament and game have improved. Gabriel blew his horn in Eugene for one season. I think most Oregon fans consider him to be a Duck. Dillon's college degree is from Oklahoma. Dillon did not earn a degree from Oregon. Clark's degree in Business, earned in 2017, is from Oregon. Casey Martin has often noted the recruiting help Clark lends to the program. It's not like he bet on the game and on himself to win, right?😁 Clark against Scheffler today (actually, both are playing against Old Man Par) is Jack versus Arnie when Jack was on his way up, and an Army of fans rooted against 'Fat Jack.' Whether he wins today or not, being in the last group on the final day of the Open after embarrassing himself last year is redemptive and a heck of an accomplishment. I agree that he has to continue to earn his way back in the minds of golf fans. Oregon's Kiara Romero was the top amateur at the U.S. Women's Open, finishing in 6th place overall. If Clark wins his second Open title today, it will be a great year for Clark and Oregon golf.
  4. Throw a ball at someone around the world, and they will try to kick it back to you. Throw a ball to someone in the USA, and they will catch it.
  5. My brother, who lives in Boston, reports that the city has been overwhelmed by Scottish soccer fans, the Tartan Army. Too many Celtics! The Scots and the ever-present Irish are drinking the city dry. Where's a Kennedy when you need one to smuggle booze in from Canada? 🤪 At the suggestion of the police, the city has set up two public areas where one can imbibe to the point of falling down drunk without police intervention. It's a fantastic worldwide party in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. BTW, it's a 48-team playoff and FCS Cape Verde 'defeated' Power 2 Spain nada to nada.🙃 Thanks for the post, Gat. Why not the USA? As Boston University's Mike Eruzione asks in the World Cup-oriented advertisement he is featured in: Don't You Believe in Miracles? USA! USA! USA!
  6. OBD Wyndham Clark shoots even par today to remain at 7 under par, six shots ahead of the World No. 1-ranked golfer and Texas grad Scottie Scheffler, whom he will play with tomorrow. 7. From the Way Back Machine - Ted "Mad Stork" Hendricks redux? The 6-foot-7-inch, 220-pound Hendricks was a legend at The U before finishing his Pro Hall of Fame career with the Dolphins.
  8. Wyndham Clark at -7 has a three-shot lead headed into the 3rd round of the US Open. Wyndham does not tee off until 3:45 Eastern. A terrific break as the wind is brutal early on. No golfer on the course is under par for the day. The wind is predicted to drop as the day goes on. Let's go, Wyndham! Firways and greens. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/2026/06/19/wyndham-clark-us-open-2026-oakmont-locker-damage/90622962007/?utm_source=usatoday-sports-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=usatbaseline&utm_term=Content%20List%2

  10. A lead on day 1 is nice, but will Wyndham Clark keep it going? https://apnews.com/article/us-open-shinnecock-hills-clark-92d9dcd5227361d0a694f3430e16f951?user_email=c7d8647c6247db8d08c59fe44bc30380a147aa90b9e33099045cd46ddc6a485b&utm_medium=Sports_wire&utm_sou

  12. Through 16 holes before play was suspended due to darkness, Wyndham Clark is 6 shots under par and leads the tournament by 4 strokes. 🤑 However, there is nothing more meaningless than a lead at halftime in football and after an abbreviated 1st round of the US Open. Wyndham had a late tee time today. Tomorrow he's in the early group but will have to finish his round, if weather permits, before the field tees off for the second round. What is it about Ducks and postseason fortune? Come on, Wyndham and Beat Boise!
  13. There was a two-hour delay this morning at the US Open due to pea soup fog. Through 13 holes, Wyndham Clark, -4, is in the lead. Clark's thoughts on the Shinnicock Hills course: https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/wyndham-clark-stunned-change-shinnecock-103000040.html

  15. Sporting News is sending out a B1G SOS - I love these two factoids. Nebraska is 0-30 against its last thirty ranked opponents. Indiana plays at Michigan this season. The last time Indiana defeated Michigan in Ann Arbor was in the 1967 season when the Hoosiers went to the Rose Bowl and lost a close game to USC and OJ Simpson. Curt Cignetti was six years old. (I was a freshman in college 🤬.) Ranking Big Ten football schedules for 2026, from Ohio St...Ohio State faces seven teams in the SN preseason Top 25 this season, including four in the top 10. Of course, these rankings depend upon a given site's preseason rankings.

  24. This, and the departures from the men's basketball team, make Dan Lanning's never losing a starter to the portal even more remarkable. In the college sports world, 'tampering' today has the same meaning as 'commitment.' Unless you're North Dakota State and nailed by the NCAA for tampering. The NCAA was so mad at Ole Miss and Miami for tampering that it sanctioned the Bison. (RIP Tark.)
  25. I second the emotion! However, Rob Mullens is a good friend of Tech AD Kirby Hocutt. They served on the CFB PO committee together. By 2033, CFB could have a different structure from today's Power 4 conferences. I think further consolidation of the top teams will happen in football, and also perhaps in men's basketball. Lubbock is a tiny market. The SEC does not need Texas Tech, and neither the SEC nor the B1G wants Texas Tech. Tech could be a member of the G8. Whether for the 'right reason or not', Sorsby's next down of football will be played in the NFL. Considering the pace of change in college athletics, by 2033, the Sorsby Situation will likely be a forgotten blip on the radar. Hats off to the B12 for calling Cody Campbell's, Texas Tech's, and the Texas AG's bluff. Campbell and his plan to rein in the Power 2 with the help of Congress have lost credibility. Help with the future of college athletics should not be accompanied by penalizing the most successful conferences.
