George, so far. Maybe there is a deal down in that hole he has us in, but I am not too sure about that.

Like I said in another post sc and ucla are just acting as their reputations would indicate they would. George doesn't have a reputation, but the one forming isn't a good one. He was fooled once, time to get it going, or be the fool. Time for George to start earning his keep, or he won't have a home.

We are also seeing in programs what we are seeing with our student athletes, a liberal use of the transfer portal. I look for more transfers to happen with the programs which are highly desirable. Oregon, fortunately, is in the group of highly desirables, unlike many of our Pac-12 mates. Too bad sc and ucla decided to go it alone. I suppose the school known as the university of spoiled children, and another school known for it's players getting handicap parking passes, thinking only of oneself comes naturally. I want Oregon to lay the wood on these guys even more now!

MariØ put on the camp where the kid broke his leg. If he didn't show up at the hospital, now there would have been a story. The idea he went to the hospital where a recruit broke his tibia is the minimum he should have done. This is just a made for news piece which should be expected by the media in south beach. If this wasn't made into a feel good story by the media, and MariØ hadn't gone to the hospital, that would have been interesting. Nothing to see here, but in todays world this kind of thing makes headlines.

We are looking good, and should have no worries, the beavs on the other hand, ouch! In the new, it's all about the money college football world the Ducks will be just fine. We aren't Notre Dame, but we have a compelling fanbase, and will be add to any conferences bottomline, that is all that matters, right now. We also have a savvy marketing department which will make the right move, unlike the conference leadership. Which Pac-12 school has the biggest fanbase when it comes to football? Great stuff, I was taught luck was opportunity and preparedness meeting at the same intersection, same time. One must be ready, prepared and moving in the right direction. Sitting around will get you run over. I am afraid that is what has happened to George. The Pac-12 just got run over, not prepared, and not moving in the right direction. Much like the dawgs, all you are left with is excuses.

All this is just background noise to me. The Ducks are going to play football this fall, the leaves on the trees are getting ready for the inevitable. It isn't like the football team is going to begin playing soccer in Europe! I really don't care much about this mess, figure it out and let me know.

I half expect the next article to go on to predict he will be on the NFL all rookie team, and get third place in the NFL rookie of the year voting. I think we just have to admit it is time for August, maybe even September, not just July coming tomorrow. Some of these preseason, pre next season predictions are almost comical.

Agree, MariØ is still picking fruits he was after for a while. I imagine he will have plenty of talent to pay attention to down in Florida over the next few years. No doubt MariØ will continue to impress. It will be interesting to see how the program does around year 4-5, IMHO.

Sark and MariØ are stellar recruiters with questionable coaching records. Sark has been handed elite programs all his life. Lanning is a stellar recruiter, who just might pull off the coaching trick. Just imagine an elite recruiter who can actually coach, the magic formula. Go Ducks!

Remember how highly the dawgs were ranked, and perceived last preseason? They then went out and lost to Montana at home to start the season. Let's let them win a few things which really don't matter. The recruiting battle, before anyone has signed, that is fine. Preseason ranking before any games have been played, almost comical. They will hang their hats on these few metrics and complain about how unfair college football is. We will focus on the bigger picture and solve the problems ahead of us. In the end the dawgs will continue to be who they are, and we will continue to become who we are destined to be.

All I know is I would put Dont'e Thornton about 10 spots higher, any other adjustments? I don't really need it to improve, that was the problem with what MariØ was selling. We just need our offense to return. We may have metrics which we will use to judge if the Oregon offense is better under Dilly, I won't be following any of them. What I say is, using one of the great phrases ever produced, we will know it when we see it. I also think we saw it in the spring game, so I can comfortably answer the question yes, if what we saw in the spring game continues.

I am a bit concerned about the game in corn valley at the end of the season. Smith is building the most under appreciated program in the Pac-12, and a game against the Ducks might be where Smith puts his name out there as the level of coach he is. If there is a rivalry game out there which hasn't gotten the attention it deserves, it is the, well, I don't know what to call it, but it is a dangerous game, and may become the rivalry game with two programs with a huge history. I might add by the end of the season the big variable, injuries may rear it's ugly head. If there is one big factor which can swing games it is one team with a head of steam, and another with the injury bug. I hope this isn't the case, but it is a scenario we may want to be cognizant about.

The last 5* QB Mario recruited sat on the bench, and didn't seem to develop much until now, under a different Head Coach, different OC. Good luck with seeing the qb they have now reach his potential and this kid ever really developing. Should be interesting a college kid with $9 million first time on South Beach. What could go wrong! I won't provide pictures, that would be too easy.

I didn't think if this initially, but how cruel to compare the dawgs to the Cal Bear program. The one, and I mean only thing the dawgs can hang their hat on as true, is their fine academic standing. You go and compare the dawgs to Cal, and, of course, they can't measure up. The dawgs aren't the bears, in the classroom or the athletic department. Cal has many national titles to their men's programs credit, 33 in rugby alone, the dawgs 0 in any men's program. On top of that Cal has actual NCAA titles in rowing, the one area the dawg mens won back before there were titles. To compare the Cal program to the poor dawgs is just cruel, and kind of humorous.

While I agree the dawg coach is a good one, as I said before, it is hard to be the under dawg when your program still thinks it is elite. I would put the dawgs as a mix of sc, a bunch of pretentious buffoons, and Penn football, a once proud program who last great game was a loss to Oregon in the 1916 Rose Bowl. Cal is exactly as you stated, a program which can beat anyone who isn't prepared, or plays them without a decent coach. The dawgs, on the other hand, are a preseason favorite, who can lose to Montana at home until they prove otherwise. Did I ever say I despise the dawgs?

If he could coach as well as he can sell, the hurricanes might have a chance. I am afraid this is like having your top salesman become the CEO, that doesn't end well.

There are those who look for excuses and those who look for solutions. That is the big difference between the two programs. I don't enjoy being around people like that, and it makes total sense.
