Bama will not score unless it’s a FG in garbage time. They’re already calling for DeBoer’s head on social media.

Simpson wasn’t sliding. He was getting dragged down. That run should’ve been a first down.

Dan Lanning has brought a trophy back home to Eugene in every year he has coached at Oregon. Chip would’ve done the same if the Pac-12 gave out trophies prior to 2011.

Bama’s inability to run the ball will catch up with them against this defense.

If Oregon has to play Indiana, Dante needs to fix his happy feet or the result will be the same as the October game.

Bama can’t run the ball and Indiana has a top 3 defense. I’m expecting a score similar to the SEC Championship game.

Tech’s defense reminded me of Indiana’s defense . Fortunately, their offense reminded me of Oklahoma State’s offense.

Oregon 22-19 1 Turover 1 Sack 198 Passing Yards

Let's leave Ohio State vs. Miami for another thread later in the day... Another B1G vs. SEC matchup to kick the day off. I’m going with Vandy but only because they chose to honor Phil Knight with the Shoe Duck uniforms. However, Iowa just ripped through their defense like it was standing still.

Phil Steele is just another cog in a media machine that spits out the same narrative every year. This year he put the blue bloods in the pre-season top 10 and called it a day. Of his top 5 teams he only got Ohio State correct. I think most of us in this forum could match that. Of the remaining eight teams he only got Bama, UGA and Ohio State correct.

It looks like Oregon could be looking for another WR coach. Douglas played at Michigan and then transferred to Rutgers. He’s done a great job, but I’m sure DL can find another good coach if he decides to leave. The WR room has a lot of upside to say the least.

Yet they spent the whole season ranked and propping up other SEC teams as a “top 25 win”.

The Alamo Bowl crowd is looking kind of sparse. I’ve been to a couple of these games and it’s always been packed. Especially with the USAF basic trainees taking up a section or two. I always thought this was one of the better non-BCS bowl games.

Fattest coach won…I think.

That’s way cheaper than what many of us paid for Penn State tickets. My guess is distance is playing a factor along with fans waiting until the semi-finals and championship games to make a serious investment into their teams.

This is one of the reasons bowl season doesn’t really get me excited. All the good ones are reserved for the playoffs and the non-playoff teams get stuck with the leftovers. Meanwhile, the playoff teams get spread to the four winds. I guess it’s a good way to fill your case with bowl trophies if you’re good enough to be in the hunt for a championship.

Great article. Here's some more Tech trivia. I believe they're the only school to have killed their own mascot in the middle of a game. In a 1994 game their black quarter horse named Double T threw his masked rider and ran towards the tunnel. When he hit the pavement he slipped and slammed into the wall breaking his neck. To this day, I think the team still touches his saddle on their way onto the field.

His son Cole is in the portal, but he already quit the Sun Devils once already.

The winning coach gets to share this with Snoop.

I think Beano would've had a soft spot for the Bush's Boca Raton bowl.

As a moderator I should edit this (and I will), but I will make sure to poke fun at your mistake.

The flaw in his assessment is that he thinks Oregon is going to treat Tech’s defense the same as they treated JMU’s. He also thinks the comeback by JMU was something other than Oregon losing focus. That won’t happen against a team as good as Tech. In the same vein, Duck fans would be wrong to think BYU’s bowl game is any indication of their talent. Thus, thinking Tech beat up on a bad team in the Big 12 championship. BYU is good and they only needed a quarter to get their act together and carve out a win. Both teams are playing well out of their conference footprint on a grass field. It’s an evenly matched game and could come down to special teams.
