I gotta root for SC in this one. If SC wins out as well as the Ducks then they meet for the P12 championship game. What better way to finish a season than beating SC for the P12 title and knocking them out of a possible CFP game. Odds of Oregon making the CFP are 70+% so in all likeliness it will be for the Rose Bowl with a victory over SC. That would make for a stellar 1st season for DL.

Not sure it would be a bunch of road games out to the midwest. Assuming (Yeah I know what that means:)) that there's 6 teams from the P12 total going to the BG1 and it's still 9 conference games a season with 3 OOC games it could playout like this. With USC, UCLA, WA, OR, Stanford and Cal as the teams leaving the Pac that would mean 5 west coast games out of 9 conference games. If the remaining 4 games are split home and away that means only 2 games are travel to the midwest games. OOC games would still be as usual. Reduce the 6 teams to 4 and yeah it would be more road trips which I wouldn't be in favor of. Still so much unknown at this point. Agree that staying in the Pac when the CFP is expanded to 12 would favor the Ducks big time.

Last year Charbonnet had 35 yards on 15 carries against the Ducks Oct 23rd at UCLA. I think our D is better this year. And our offence is certainly better than last year. Validation? I thinks there's a very good chance of it.

I'm satisfied with where the Ducks are now. They beat what was thought to be a pretty good team in BYU. Handled WSU and the final score with Stanford doesn't really reflect how the game was. 31-3 at the half is impressive and in all their games if the penalties were reduced the scores would be even more lopsided sans the GA game. Going forward I feel the ducks could take the P12 title. Some tough games ahead but if DL can keep the team focused in road games it looks like a P12 sweep is in the cards. I certainly didn't feel this way preseason. I figured at best 9-3 to 8-4.

Agree. I quit trying to keep up. Seems like it's flip flopping back n forth which makes me dizzy. I guess I'm getting old and have realized that I may as well just sit back and not get worked up, excited or PO'd cause a week latter it's changed for the better or worse.

Stanfords possibly missing some key players so yeah, Oregon will blow out Stanford by at least 3 TD's. This isn't a Stanford team of the past.

Oregon's schedule sets them up for a great run this season. Only glitch is they have to play Ost in Cornvally. Beavs are always tough and they look like they're playing at another level this year. With Stanford and AZ next it will give the Ducks a couple games to grow before the UCLA game at home. Coming from behind and getting a win yesterday showed what this team can do. They will only get better each game. CFP? Highly doubtful. P12 champ game? It's absolutely doable.

If Bo throws 3 pics and Oregon looses to BYU by 2 TD's then I think it's time for a change. Anything less than that and he stays.

I predicted 38-17 GA. I was actually surprised by the final score. I never even thought the Ducks had a chance in this one anyways. Two many unknowns to really consider them to have a chance. Not impressed with Bo Pix. But not jumping on the Ty train either. I say let DL get some time in as an HC and let the team gel a bit more. Lots of learning curves for both sides. It's definitely a restructuring year vs a rebuilding year. All the pieces are there, they just need to find the right fit. Tackling was horrible. Not sure how much the fear factor of having to tackle those NFL lite GA players played into it even if they could catch em. Still plenty of time to right the ship before conference play.

Yeah but what types of players did he inherit? From all accounts Oregon is loaded with pretty decent talent. From what I saw the players are overrated or the coaching staff is overrated. Or a combination of both. I wonder how NS would've have faired with this team yesterday?

Starting behind what arguably is the best OL in CFB I think Bo has a chance to do very well. It would seem to me that Bo could be his own worst enemy. If he stays under control then he and the Ducks could have a very good season.

Hard not to blame them for dissing the Ducks. After all what have the Ducks done lately? Mediocre bowl wins or losses and lackadaisical play on the field.

I agree with much of what you say but fact was MC was just mediocre at best as an HC. He had a plethora of talent and refused to let his OC be in control. He promised a return to exciting fast paced football and then put the brakes on the O with his "I'm tougher than you" on the field attitude. I do agree that he was a great players coach and left the program in great shape morally and physically for DL. However he was hired to win games and bring an entertaining type of football to the field. In the end he failed on the entertaining part and left too many shoulda won's on the table. No one's going to dis on his character or his success on recruiting but those can only go so far. I also don't blame him for leaving. I would've done the same. BTW thanks for your service.

Not sure ESPN or Fox gives a rats arse about that. Any school not currently in the BG1 or SEC is caught between a rock and a hard place. Damned if you damned if you don't. Anyway you look at it, David Marsh paints a bleak look into the future of college football.

Will McGee be DAT 1.0? If so then my bets are on him leading the TD wars.
