  1. A detailed look at the OL performance from his time at UCLA. Certainly not a glowing review. Troubling but I also remember USC fired Steve Greatwood and he is the Oregon gold standard. Many Ducks celebrated when Andy Ludwig departed yet he is highly regarded at Utah. A lot depends on right time, right place. I will leave it to the football technicians to critique the article. 2. A couple of interesting snippets with emphasis added from a Miami recap of their spring game. Sound familiar? The Miami Hurricanes offensive is expected to be more methodical and physical under new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. The completion percentages for Garcia and Van Dyke were impressive. Miami needs more production in yards per attempt. Garcia and Van Dyke combined to average 5.89 yards per attempt. That would have ranked 121st last season. Miami Hurricanes quarterbacks efficient in spring game CANESWARNING.COM The Miami Hurricanes offensive is expected to be more methodical and physical under new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. 3. 13-22-1 since 1972, average score 21-29. Surprised the last 20 years is 7-6 good guys with each team averaging 34 ppg. I didn't realize they missed playing so often.
  4. At the time of his transfer there were rumors that Rattler would not be missed by his teammates at OU.
  5. Dan Lanning: "I'm looking to get coached just as much as the players are." - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM Dan Lanning is approaching his first head coaching job with a rare humbleness, leaving something for everyone to learn from.
  6. A preferred walk-on is a high school recruit who is guaranteed a spot on the 105 man roster; a walk-on normally goes through a tryout process. The PWO status only applies to the first year, after that a roster spot is contingent on practice performance. Walk-ons can be on the team for five years just like a scholarship athlete. On some occasions a walk-on will earn a scholarship but rarely before their final year. The granting of a scholarship normally happens in the fall when a team hasn't used the full allotment of 85 full rides due to some type of attrition. As a general rule a three star athlete would be considered as a top 800 type player. Each recruiting service uses their own numbers but generally a five star is roughly top 30, a four star is top 300. Simple math leaves 400-500 three stars.
  7. Checking the roster from 10 and 15 years ago they ended with nearly 100 listed players. Some kids leave during the year, some are dismissed so it is reasonable they started with about the maximum allowed. Can't speak to the quality but not nearly as many high school players were rated back then.
  8. I believe the current roster limit is 105 of which 85 can be on scholarship.
  9. According to pundits publishing click bait rankings not tough enough to be listed. In fact BYU makes a couple lists in part because they play the Ducks. Lots of different opinions listed, how many are worth the cost of the cyber space they occupy is open for debate, but it is the off season. A sampling is below. 10. “There was no doubt it was going to seep into recruiting at some point. I think anybody that cares about college football is not real pleased with that because that wasn’t the intention” So they guy with the million dollar QB stolen from his previous stop is upset with NIL? Quick, someone get me the definition of hypocrisy.
  11. I think he means Oregon Territory. Conerly is the second offensive lineman in the state of Oregon that the Ducks landed in this class, following Puyallup (Wash.) four-star offensive lineman Dave Iuli.
  12. Apparently Josh Conerly Sr had drinks tonight with members of a SC fan site. I think any questions have been answered.
  13. I imagine Division Street would know if such a program existed. Division Street WWW.DIVISIONST.COM
  14. When a player enters the portal the school is under no obligation to continue the scholarship. I doubt WSU would fund a semester for a transfer to Oregon.
  15. Are you sure that is correct? I find information from the NCAA that May 1 is the deadline for athletes in fall/winter sports to notify their school they are entering the portal (Additionally, a student-athlete must provide their current school with a written request to enter the NCAA Transfer by May 1 if they participate in a fall or winter sport, or July 1 if they participate in a spring sport to use the one-time exception.) but nothing regarding an enrollment deadline. Wouldn't it be similar to a JC transfer, ie enrolled by fall session?
  16. His announcement that he planned to transfer from WSU to Oregon made news, 247's portal tracker lists him as enrolled. On his seldom used twitter account he says he a kicker at UO. Despite that he is not listed on the football roster nor the depth chart. Any information as to what happened?
  17. Oregon center Franck Kepnang to enter transfer portal and leave Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Ouch. Franck Kepnang has announced that he is going to enter the transfer portal. That’s a tough loss for the Ducks.
  18. Thank you. Nice to have my gut hunch confirmed.
  19. Pulling for Villanova all the way. They build a team the old fashioned way, recruit freshmen and keep them in the program. If I glanced at their roster correctly they have a single transfer, Caleb Daniels, unrated out of high school and originally enrolled at Tulane. If we don't really care for the portal shouldn't we pull for teams that don't use it? Also I prefer Jay Wright to Coach K.
  20. The Auburn writer is looking for a NCAA record in jumping to conclusions. Would you name a starter based on four plays? Media was allowed for 20 minutes (including stretching) of the 4th practice. Each QB had a series. "None of the drives resulted in points, as each were capped at three or four plays." per 247.
  21. I imagine more kids dream of starring in a Nike commercial rather than repping a " vertically integrated real estate company" which boasts "The company seeks niche theses targeting attractive risk-adjusted returns" (Can anyone explain what that means?) as Caleb Williams has signed up for.
  22. DeVon clocked an unofficial 4.35 at Oregon's Pro Day on Friday. Reality is the time differences are negligible, it would be difficult to decide the winner in a head to head race.
  23. Similar to Oregon State when Scott Rueck took over from LaVonda Wagner. OSU has done OK.
