3 recruiting targets Dan Lanning can’t afford to lose during official visit seasonThe 3 recruiting targets Dan Lanning needs to secure this SummerDakota Guerrant - Wide ReceiverThe Oregon Ducks have made it clear that Dakota Guerrant is one of their most coveted recruits, regardless of position. Luring Guerrant out of Michigan in a battle with the Wolverines won't be easy, but the staff has put themselves in a great position. Pairing Will Mencl, the Nation's top QB recruit, with a star receiver like Guerrant would give the Ducks an exciting duo of the future. Hayden Stepp - CornerbackDonte Wright was a top flip candidate for Oregon, but when the 5-star defensive back decided to pick Miami when he flipped from Georgia, it forced the Ducks to pivot. Oregon is one of 4 finalists for elite cornerback recruit Hayden Stepp, who should become a much bigger priority in this class. Stepp is an exciting prospect with a ton of length who could develop into a nice piece for the Ducks. Ismael Camara - Offensive LineThe Oregon Ducks have started to piece the future offensive line together nicely over the past two weeks, landing center Gus Corsair and offensive tackle Cameron Wagner. The Ducks still have plenty of work to do after only signing 3 offensive linemen last recruiting cycle. The top target remaining for the Ducks is top-40recruit Ismael Camara who's heavily trending toward Oregon, but Dan Lanning and the staff can't let another school swoop in. 2026 Football Poll Rankings
Oregon Football Could Make History With Preseason AP Poll RankThe Oregon Ducks have never been ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press preseason poll, but they may have one of their strongest cases yet ahead of the 2026 season. Preseason AP Poll PredictionOregon is joined by Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Texas as the possible No. 1 teams on the list. For Oregon, a preseason No. 1 ranking would not just make history. It would confirm that the Ducks have crossed into a different tier of college football expectations. The argument could be made that greater expectations do not always equal greater outcomes. Ranked DucksOregon’s sustained national relevance is impressive. The Ducks’ preseason No. 7 ranking in 2025 gave the program back-to-back preseason top-10 rankings for the first time since its dominant 2010 to 2015 run. Ducks' Relief Pitching Allows No. 1 UCLA to Rally and Win, 9-6
Where Oregon baseball sits in RPI rankings heading into USC seriesThe Oregon Ducks couldn't pull off the series victory on the road over top-ranked UCLA, but they did capture one win, and that was good enough to give the Ducks a boost in the RPI rankings. Oregon: The CFP Dreamer that’s in for a Rude Awakening this Fall
Ok, I know, click bait maybe. He thinks we will already have 1 to 2 losses before we even get to Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Washington. I decide to post this just to get your opinion as to where you might think our beloved Ducks will stand by the time of the BIG conference championship game? Austin Lloyd is a college football fanatic who has years of experience covering the sport. Beyond Saturday Blitz, his interest has landed him opportunities to write for other sites, as well as host multiple radio shows and podcasts. "Picture this: December’s on its way, and we’re shaping up to have a playoff similarly deep to last season’s, which would leave little room for error if you’re already an imperfect candidate. In walks a one (if not two)-loss Oregon, who has the Buckeyes, Wolverines, sure-to-improve Spartans, and top-rival Huskies, all lined up with a bye nowhere to be seen. Am I really supposed to believe that the Ducks are going to strut out of that canyon destined for the bracket?" OSU, IU, or OBD: Who Wins the B1G Title Game?
Well thought out Mike and hear what you are saying and do agree. But, of all the years and as tough as the schedule this year is, I do believe Oregon has that blueprint to win it all. Oregon is rich in talent all over the field with a veteran squad. Moore is a brilliant talented QB. I believe his state of mind will be more mature in reading the field, handling the likes of what Indiana and Ohio State will throw at him defensively. Coaches, will have one more year of maturity in preparation handling game time decisions, not being outclassed by the opposition. Yes, I might be too much an optimist, but I think of our team last year, after all the adversity (supposedly not their year) they faced still did as well as they did making it to the semifinals. We won’t know until the season starts, but this is my green color thoughts. Joel Klatt: Oregon Ducks have 'blueprint' to win championship in 2026"Veteran talent, veteran quarterback, this is the blueprint right here," Klatt said on his podcast. "I look at the blueprint of the teams that have won the last two national championships, and Oregon fits that blueprint to a tee. They are going to be a veteran-led team with talent coming back everywhere. They're going to be the best defensive line in the country. They're going to have an experienced quarterback. They're going to have the ability to be explosive, they're going to have the ability to run the football, and they've been getting closer every single year." While all of these things are true, it's not going to be easy for the Ducks, who have the No. 11-ranked toughest schedule in the nation this year, according to CBS Sports. With an early road game against USC in September, plus games against Ohio State, Michigan, and Washington in three of the final four weeks of the year, Oregon is going to be battle-tested by the time the playoff rolls around in December. However, if the talent steps up as we expect it will, and Oregon can continue to take another step forward, as they have every year under Lanning, then there is no reason not to believe that this could be the season that they ultimately get it done, at long last. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/05/08/oregon-football-joel-klatt-2026-blueprint/89984036007/
