Jordan Seaton's reported NIL payday reveals the cost to beat Dan LanningThe Oregon Ducks have become an NFL Draft factory which has it's perks, but it also comes with some downsides. This year, Oregon lost two players to the 1st round in Dillon Thieneman and Kenyon Sadiq, but the Ducks also lost two offensive linemen to the draft along with Isaiah World as an undrafted free agent. Dan Lanning and his staff often go big game hunting in the Transfer Portal, and this offseason they tried to bolster their offensive line. The Ducks and LSU became the two schools locked in a battle over the top offensive tackle in the Transfer Portal Jordan Seaton with Lane Kiffin and Dan Lanning each racking up frequent flyer miles. LSU reset the market just to hold off OregonOn Wednesday, CBS Sports' Chris Hummer reported that Jordan Seaton's deal with the LSU Tigers is likely north of the $4 million range. Hummer also believes that LSU paid Jordan Seaton more than any offensive lineman in college football history. The payday is truly stunning as it's still so new to see players making NFL level salaries at the college level. Jordan Seaton is believed by many to be a top 10 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, and when a player of that level hits the open market, they're always going to cash in. The Ducks have become a force on the recruiting trail with the track record of development, Dan Lanning's pull, and the resources. Oregon won't always win every recruiting battle, but it certainly sends a message when it took $4 million to beat out the Ducks. Oregon Coach Dan Lanning's Underrated Strength Is Becoming ClearOregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning has an eye for scouting talent. Since Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning arrived in Eugene, he has used a mixture of high school recruiting and transfer portal pickups to fill out his roster. Notable transfers include quarterbacks like Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, Oregon's current starting quarterback Dante Moore, and former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola. Additionally, Lanning and the Ducks have added key defenders like cornerback Christian Gonzalez, safety Dillon Thieneman, and defensive lineman Bear Alexander through the portal. On the other hand, the Ducks signed the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation in 2026, the No. 4 class in 2025, the No. 3 class in 2024, and the No. 7 overall class in 2023. The facts speak for themselves, which doesn't mean Duck fans are going to shut upWhere Lanning and the Ducks have done less well is in so-called big games. Six of his losses have come against teams that either won or played in the national championship game. What makes that problematic is that the definition of a big game shifts depending on how much the definer dislikes your team. When Oregon shut out No. 4 Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl quarterfinal, that was a big game until they lost the next time out. Beating Iowa, Minnesota, USC and Washington in November with a playoff berth on the line seemed like big wins to most Oregon fans, but the Hawkeyes, Gophers, Trojan and Huskies now say no. They would have been big games if Oregon lost them, and opponents would have remembered them that way. The "Dan Lanning can't win big games" argument is pretty much shifting sand. Suddenly, playoff games, conference titles and Top Five seasons don't matter, because those jealous opponents aren't achieving them. Post-Spring College Football Bowl, CFP Projections: Miami, Texas, Oregon, Notre Dame Lead the 12-team Bracket
Bowl game prediction gives Oregon dream season with nightmare caveatCBS Sports predicts Big Ten Championship with nightmare Playoff debutAfter the buzz of spring practices, national analysts are adjusting their predictions for the college football season. On Wednesday, CBS Sports updated their bowl game predictions for the season with the Oregon Ducks earning the 3rd overall seed in the CFP. Brad Crawford predicts that the Ducks will win the Big Ten which would be a dream outcome. The only downside for the Oregon Ducks is that by winning the Big Ten, the Playoff debut for Oregon in the CFP would be in The Rose Bowl. While Oregon has had success historically in The Rose Bowl, the scars are still very visible from the last time the Ducks won the Big Ten just to face Ohio State in a rematch. Winning the Big Ten would make playing in the Rose Bowl unavoidable, and eventually, the Ducks will have to shake those demons. Duck Baseball: News, Updates, Rankings, Etc.
Oregon In Line To Host Regional; What's At Stake vs. UCLA This Weekend D1Baseball released its latest batch of projections for the NCAA Tournament field. Oregon earned the 16th and final top seed to host a regional round in the projected field. That provides some assurance that the Ducks are headed in the right direction, but there is still some work to do. Oregon's projected regional includes Boston College as the No. 2 seed, Kentucky as the No. 3 seed and Saint Joseph's as the No. 4 seed. The Ducks hosted a regional last season as the No. 12 overall seed, but they were stunningly upset by Utah Valley and Cal Poly, going winless in the postseason on their own field. Taking down UCLA, ranked No. 1 in the RPI rankings, would provide a huge boost to Oregon's chances at hosting. Winning the series, or even winning one game, would greatly benefit the Ducks. However, if the Ducks get swept, the odds of securing a regional at home will be bleak. The Ducks will host USC at home for their final series of the regular season, which would also provide a decent boost to Oregon's RPI ranking if they can claim the series, but if the Ducks fail to get the job done in Los Angeles, they will be playing more for their Big Ten tournament positioning rather than worrying about a regional https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/baseball/2026/05/06/oregon-baseball-projects-host-regional-ucla-weekend-series/89952870007/

Dante Moore Said The Quiet Part Out Loud About Autzen Stadium
The Oregon Ducks' Autzen Stadium has never been the biggest venue in college football, but for decades, it has behaved like one of the sport’s most unforgiving environments.Autzen Stadium Gaining Reputation In Big TenMoore isn't the only athlete to recognize the special environment at Autzen Stadium. At Big Ten Media Days, Oregon Ducks on SI reporter Bri Amaranthus asked Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith his take on the stadium. Smith competed in one of the best games in Eugene: a 32-31 Ducks victory over the Buckeyes with ESPN's College Football GameDay present as fans stormed the field. "It was rocking. Probably the loudest I've ever been in," Smith said. "The fans were definitely getting hyped. Couldn't hear anything. Probably the best stadium I played in last year." Lanning response? "Yeah, I think (Smith) experienced what a lot of us Duck fans know, that our fans make a huge impact, that our stadium and our venue is really impressive and special. And not everybody in college football gets to experience that. So it's part of what makes our place so awesome," Lanning said. Maybe Autzen is underrated but maybe that doesn't matter. What does matter? 46,500 fans showing up the Ducks' spring game. And those same fans rocked the stadium when Oregon got it's first ever College Football Playoff win in Autzen in December of 2025 over the James Madison Dukes.
