Usually this will just clank off the rim and bring them down to reality. I think we just saw that with Lanning having to fire Coach Meh after one of the most inept offensive performances in recent memory. It's hard to blame Lanning's logic because every shot he had fire up (coaching hire) was nothing but money. But all the under qualified hires on offense were like launching it from half court and watching a horrible air ball sail out of bounds. OK, lesson learned. Back to playing with focus and discipline. So what now? Does he look for a top notch Xs and Os guy that maybe isn't the best recruiter and hopes the UO can recruit itself at this point? Does it matter that a top level guy doesn't exactly align with his own offensive vision? Should they go get look for someone sooner rather than later to hold the team together or does that matter? It feels like the easy part has already happened now time for the tricky part to begin.

He was the Alabama OC on their recent championship team. Maybe a better OC than Head coach?Jonathan Smith. Former OSU/ MSU head coach. Either a former no star or low star recruit that helped turn the lowly Beavers into one of the most dangerous teams in the country in the early 2000's. Great OC and head coaching results ay OSU and OC results in the NFL.Chip Kelly. Would he come back full circle? That's all I got but OC knowledge is not my wheelhouse.

His focus on making one individual (usually the quarterback) completely responsible for making things go is an opposing defense’s dream come true.

It seemed to go between the extremes of absolutely bland, safe predictability to absolute willy nilly. The run game is finally looking great so let's pass it nine straight times. Let's dink it to Moore around or behind the line then go deep to a second stringer. The creativity of the Oregon offense reminded me of that Australian breakdance lady. Sure she's doing something nobody could have predicted but why?

Nagle is a veteran assistant who has great experience working alongside Willie Fritz at Tulane and Houston, and has played a major role in helping transform the Cougars' offense over the past year. He's a former QB with a lot of experience developing at the position, and could be a bit easier to grab considering he is a more under-the-radar namehttps://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/25/oregon-football-where-ducks-go-at-offensive-coordinator/92431527007/
