6 hours ago6 hr Moderator No. I am in no way saying the UO still has a chance to make the playoffs simply because I don't see them winning out from here. But what if they did and finished 9-3? Are we sure that this year a three loss team wouldn't get in?Right now, with around half the season in the books, there are only two SEC teams with under two losses. In the BIG that number is four. With so many games left with head to head match ups and some upsets thrown in, the list of two loss teams will shrink each week. Does a two loss ACC team with a weak schedule slide by an SEC or BIG team that went 3-3 against ranked opponents?Parody seems to have over taken college football this year and I think that's a great thing. This year, I think a three loss team may get in. Maybe even more than one.
6 hours ago6 hr No. It's possible... A three loss tram made the playoffs once already with Clemson sneaking in as the ACC champ in 2024.
6 hours ago6 hr Author Moderator No. That's true. I'm not talking about a championship game winner getting in with three losses. I mean could a three loss team have one of the twelve best resumes and get in this year? I don't think there are enough zero or one loss teams to fill up the spots right now half way through the season.
5 hours ago5 hr No. It’s possible, but no way will it be Oregon, who will most likely have 4+ losses by the end of the regular season.
4 hours ago4 hr No. No Oregon with 3 losses won't get in. I would imagine there will be better 3 loss teams than Oregon. It would be an amazing coaching job if Lanning held things together and got the Ducks to 9-3. I just don't see the Ducks getting to 9-3 period.
3 hours ago3 hr No. Win the rest and Ducks might squeak into the conference championship game with an automatic bid on the line. I think that's more likely than getting an at-large bid.But to have a chance of winning out, Dante Moore must return vs. Northwestern.

2 hours ago2 hr Moderator No. It starts by defeating No. 21 and woefully under-ranked Northwestern on Halloween.Ohio State is at USC this week, 4:30 PM NBC, and the probable one-loss Buckeyes will be ranked in the top 5 when OBD visits Columbus in Week 10. Upset Ohio State before coming home to shred brand-name Michigan, stomp Michigan State in East Lansing, return home, and lay waste to Washington.[BTW- On many sites, Riley is listed as a candidate for the open Baylor job. 🤪]And hope for utter chaos, including Notre Dame losing to Miami and SMU, and many 4-loss SEC teams.OK, I'm ready to wake up now. 🤪But going on a five-game run with wins against ranked NW and Ohio State and a beatdown of Michigan would help hold the recruiting class together and hang on to the players Oregon wants to keep. Finishing in the PO committee's top 15 or so would encourage players in the portal to pick Oregon. There is still a lot to play for, not least of which is pride in yourself and in the program.
2 hours ago2 hr No. I see several 9-3 teams making the playoffs, because there won't be enough Power 2, 10 and 2 or better teams. If we were to win out which includes beating Ohio State, we would be in consideration for sure. It's just not really in the cards with the under coached talent we have. Just changing the OC won't be enough.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Remember that SEC teams all play an additional conference game this year. I could all but guarantee that a 9-3 SEC team will get in and there is a high likelihood there will be more than one.I think Oregon is essentially mathematically eliminated. Even if you win out, you are not climbing back into the Top 11. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by GeotechDuck
