  2. Prosecutors decline to file DUII charge against Oregon Ducks receiver Evan Stewart
  3. I’ll add that if Tony can somehow manage to get this team above 0.500 this year, that would be an amazing coaching job and he might have a shot at the permanent position.
  4. Why waste your earning years in a lame Duck situation? Liked him when he was on his game, but his departure makes perfect $ to me.
  5. Good thoughts David. Seeing the O line settle in and be productive is on everybody's wish list. Hope we do see it Saturday. I also want to see Mehringer earn the title of OC this week. A steady diet of up the middle for no gain on first and second down followed by a five yard pass on third and nine has got to stop. Mixing in screen passes that get blown up in the backfield time and time again don't count as variety. There are plenty of teams with far less skilled O lines that figure out how to move the ball and with far less skilled playmakers. If the offense can just become mid, the D can take over the game. Is that too much to ask?

  7. Happy Friday everyone, Here are some of my final thoughts going into the game tomorrow. Sadly the offensive line is still on the list but at least I put an amusing twist on it... Maybe. Final Thoughts Before Oregon v IllinoisAnother week and another game.
  8. The biggest challenge is they don’t have a high level PG on the roster or a Center. Those are two huge issues. Agree that they have some good players, but if you can’t run the offense or rebound, you are going to have some serious problems in conference play. Payne is an average PG. He has decent handles, but doesn’t shoot it or pass it particularly well. Lin and Easter look to be the backups at that position. I would argue that neither are DI PGs. Lin is more of a SG and Easter looks like he needs a ton of development before he is a major contributor. Compton and Bowen both look very good, but they are going to be giving up size at Center in most conference games. Can Bowen consistently box out guys that are 7 feet and 240 lbs? IMO, the floor is 6 wins this year, similar to the 1991-1992 squad. The ceiling looks to be middle of the pack in the BIG.
  9. Available information puts Oregon’s NIL budget for hoops around $12M. The top teams in the BIG are north of $20M, so pretty hard to be competitive with that budget.
  10. Yeah. Rumors are that he received around $4M from Louisville. Oregon’s total budget is around $12M. I suppose you don’t want to spend 33% of your NIL on a PG, but considering the options Oregon currently has at the position right now, it might have been a good idea.
  11. Jalen Lott earning more playing time as he comes back from early injury. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/22/oregon-football-jalen-lott-dan-lanning-dylan-raiola/92374656007/
  12. Dan Lanning’s weekly interview with Isaac and Suke. Regardless of What happens the rest of the season, Oregon is darn lucky to have this man leading its football program.
  13. He bailed and is dead to me...
  14. He left for more NIL I suppose.
  15. What NIL resources does the basketball team have? My guess is that many other schools have devoted more to basketball than us, and we have put it pretty much all into football. Football is king, both for fan enthusiasm and income.
  16. I respectfully disagree. Bryce is bringing down an estimated $3 million a year in direct revenue sharing and NIL deals. In 2026, his QBR rating is 53.3, 77th in the nation. In six games, he's thrown 5 TD passes and 6 interceptions. Michigan is 16th in the Big Ten in Points Per Game. What kind of pay cut is he willing to take? Which coach on Oregon's staff could coach him up to perform like the nation's best QB recruit? Does he have what it takes to play QB in the Power 2? I think this would be a B1G and a costly gamble. In 2027, Oregon has to find and pay talented O-line players and replace four starters on the D-line. If a team can't run the ball in the Power 2, no QB will make much of a difference. In 2027, Oregon plays Iowa, Ohio State, and Penn State at home. And plays five B1G games on the road: Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, UCLA, and UW. Not the schedule you want for a QB to learn on the job.
  17. Hopefully the players like them as much as we do, and they play sharp!
  18. The play in the SEC in 2026 to date justifies Greg Sankey's decision to back a 24-team playoff. You never know which team will show up. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/page/gamedaykickoff102226/week-8-top-games-upsets-preview

  20. It's reported that Stewarts DL is suspended for failure to show up in court for other tickets. Too much money, too little civic responsibility. Is he gone or will Dan use this as a learning experience. Santa Rosa types faster than me.
