Our Transition to the Dark Side is Complete.
I had to search to find our channel for today's game. I'm used to seeing it splashed all over network promos. Yes, I'm spoiled. Yes, I'm entitled. Tough noogies.

I think a good O line is part of the deal. So no, not there yet.

GameDay Thread! Our Beloved Ducks vs. Illinois....Join Us Before & DURING the Game!
Let's discuss the game before and during, here in this thread with fellow intense Oregon fans. Being critical of coaching decisions and player performance is FINE, as that is what we do in a forum. But do not get personal towards the players, coaches, or fellow OBD forum members. But being angry, joyous,....all of it is normal and fine, so enjoy the game! More of THIS Guy Today...

Marsh Duck - Final Thoughts Before Oregon v Illinois
I think the next 6 guys on the WR depth chart have 10 catches for about 75 yds total this season. The O-line better be ready to run block and allow a bit of time for the TE's to get some space.

Add to that with having the hometown kid start. Win win for both QB's.

Oregon - Illinois Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
Let's hope our defense is stout today, we're going to need it with this many players out on offense. Oregon closes as road favorite vs. Illinois https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/24/oregon-football-illinois-fighting-illini-betting-final/92403826007/

Our Transition to the Dark Side is Complete.
I watched this earlier this morning and I like this Eric guy! That was great, hire him on the staff. I agree with this guy about Crader in Pass Pro, he isn't really improving. Eric is right that he can jump the rush and set or drop and set. Crader just drops and lets them go Speed-to-Bull Rush over and over. He is also right about how teams are setting the edge rusher out wider on tackles to attack them with speed rush. Our coaches should be coaching our tackles to switch how they play the speed rush and chipping if they need the help. I'm going to watch if we have improved or adjusted to this, if not that is on the coaches. I see I blamed TE Johnson for blowing his assignment on our first run play but watching the tape it was Crader who turned the guy in his gap free. I agree we aren't that far off getting the run game to go in gap if we just can keep assignment sound and we should get better every week. Watching live I see we ran #26 a bit more in counter, and duo not inside zone.

Marsh Duck - Final Thoughts Before Oregon v Illinois
Thanks, for sharing David. It has been an interesting progression with the OL rotation to say the least. We really need to find the best five. I'm surprised that Bennett has been rotated in. You'd think with all his game experience he'd at the least be assignment sound. The Illinois run D isn't that stout, I think we break 250 yards on the ground if we stay gap run scheme and can play assignment sound across the line consistently.

Maybe DL KNEW that we would beat Nebraska anyway and just wanted to set up the storybook ending of have DR come into the game to lead the game winning drive. Makes me think a movie might be in the works....it was all cinema, that's what it was. 😊

I really don’t think so. The best way to get better is to play football, even if playing for a team much weaker than OBD. Addressing the transactional aspect of football, getting better means more money. But even more importantly, you don’t get this good (and even a mediocre college player is a damn good athlete) without enjoying the game and finding joy in getting better. Speaking from my own experience, I’m a serious paddle boarder. I’ll never make a dime at it, but I enjoy being good at a sport. I enjoy the sound and feel of being on a paddle board when I am paddling fast and efficiently. I enjoy doing it a little better every day. These young men are no different. There seems to be a common thread of cynicism about what motivates our players and coaches that I think is unfounded. Social media in general swims in cynicism, so it’s not limited to this forum. This recurring theme towards OBD is one of the main reasons I quit posting here for years. Especially with Lanning, I see a team based upon character, connection, and compassionate accountability. Not perfect, but doing their jobs for the right reasons.- Jalen Lott/Messiah Hampton Out For Illinois Game
It may be a rumor but it is not. The kids on campus outside of the football team know exactly what happened. 9 skill people were involved. Stewart is not out of the woods if you read any of the reports that came out yesterday. These are suspensions. It may be a long day.- Our Transition to the Dark Side is Complete.
It's taken the staff this long to recognize Zone Blocking is not a strength of the OL. Both Tackles also struggle too much to pass protect reliably. These guys explain it better than I do, but instinctively I have been thinking this all year... I thought these guys were Scoop Duck until I watched the video. They're good. They have time I don't so I thought I would let them explain it better than I can. And they confirmed a lot of my suspicions. Check them out.- Jalen Lott/Messiah Hampton Out For Illinois Game
In this season of the witch, what is going to go wrong next? From No. 2 to number 27. 🤮 If these guys are out with injuries, change the S&C guy and the program he is running. Too many Ducks are injured too often. If they are out because of behavioral issues, is there an adult in the room? Other than an FCS layup, every game has been a struggle. This is with a 247 Sports roster ranking of 2nd, behind only Georgia at No. 1. BRUTAL! However, before a 3rd loss, if it happens, I'm keeping the PO faith.- Prediction Contest: Oregon vs. Illinois....Join US!

I tend to agree. Dan Lanning is having years taken off his life with this offensive misery. This level of discomfort is surely going to result in real changes. Dan will grow. But it is jarring to see what we are right now compared what we used to be. - Jalen Lott/Messiah Hampton Out For Illinois Game
