  2. And I think everyone out here is Duck Fanville during the offseason verbalized wanting to know when the O-line was going to be reinforced with some experience, or better yet, some talent via the portal. Apparently, the coaches knew something we all didn't. And here we are. What a massive disappointment in the offense and coaching of our Ducks.
  3. Tough loss today, and obviously not where any of us hoped this season would be headed. But maybe missing the playoffs gives Dan Lanning and this staff some time to really dig into the issues that have hurt this team and get them corrected. There’s still plenty to play for. Finish the season strong, get into a good bowl game and win it, then hopefully close things out with a strong recruiting haul and build some momentum going into next year. A couple losses don’t mean the entire season has to be a failure. Oregon can still have a good season, finish on a high note, and use this as an opportunity to get better. Go Ducks. 🦆
  4. A dubious honor, but a tip of the cap for being right.
  5. There's no way UO scores 35 points against LSU. An all star receiver core, multiple 5 star QBs, great RBs 4 star O line with 4 star back ups and maybe the best tight end in the country and still would not be close to scoring 35 against LSU.
  6. We saw the very best version of our team against USC, with everyone locked in, and they were barely beating them. It was USC at it's best, but honestly I still expected our ceiling to be higher, but it isn't. I do agree we will be up and down the rest of the year, with the real challenge being keeping a bunch of players who can say "oh, well at least I got mine (NIL)" once we lose a third game and we no longer have "everything in front of us." Coach Lanning's greatest strength and greatest weakness is the personal connection. It carries the team through rough times, but biases what should be tough business decisions.
  7. Unlike some head coaches he certainly seems to get the best out of his roster.
  8. Last week 35-34 in OT at South Carolina, after 27-27 This week 35-34 in OT vs No. 10 LSU, after 27-27 First one-point back to back OT wins in college football since overtime was introduced. Cal: 25-20 over Virginia Tech in Berkeley. QB Sagapolutele did not play - held out due to concussion last week. ASU: leading Hawaii 14-3 in second quarter
  9. We lost 5 fumbles today! 5 fumbles! That doesn’t mean there isn’t massive opportunity for improvement, but no team is going to win a Top 25 matchup giving away 5 fumbles on top of 2 interceptions. It’s close to impossible to go unbeaten in this day and age, but UCLA has a great shot of going 11-1 or 12-0. If Boise State wins tonight, our FBS opponents are a combined 20-3 on the year. It’s disappointing, but I don’t think we’re as bad as it looks. I hope Dylan Raiola recovers mentally from this. Not sure what happened out there. Many uncatchable throws for sure, but there was no one open at all today. At least what we were shown on TV. UCLA was flat out better prepared today and that’s a common theme.
  10. That article is very accurate. But fixing the issues will shut down the haters. How many times before has Oregon looked like it would never bounce back?

  14. If you are too mad, then don't post. You won't be able to control yourself. And if you are in that kind of state of mind, you probably won't have anything sensible to say either - just spewing anger about how much they suck. And if you do make a point, you won't recall that you just said that 30 seconds ago and will repeat yourself over and over again. Once you settle down a little and realize that it is just a game, then you should be fine and be able to dissect the game like a sports fan and not a raving maniac. So on a scale of 1 to 10 about how teed off you are, if you are an 8 or above, you should wait to post until you come down a little. That is my 2 cents for whatever it's worth. LSU in overtime with Kentucky. Oklahoma beat Texas. Nebraska almost beat Indiana. Just because you have good players, winning is no longer automatic. It is a new world. And just because your team lost, it doesn't mean your program is down the toilet. Lots of good teams will have a few losses this year.
  15. 14-17 in overtime in 2012 to Stanford at Autzen. Stanford had possession a bit over 37 minutes of the 60. UCLA had it 39:15. But, Oregon racked up yards against Stanford, just couldn't score. In the game today, there were no yards until late. The last time before that was 0-16 at UCLA in 2007.
  16. I was there too, and dd that it was wet and cold.
  17. The only time I think Oregon will be hyped and competitive is when playing in Socal or against Ohio State. The rest of the time we have front runner vibes and don't seem to collectively care against "lesser" opponents. I wonder how many yards The Manhunter will run for next week?
  18. I have a strange feeling that this team will be up and down for the rest of the season. I would not be surprised if Dante came back and beat Ohio St. I would also not be surprised if they lost more games to unranked opponents. I suspect Lanning lost the group with his offseason decisions, including coaching hires/promotions and lack of portal moves on the O line. He probably over-estimated how ready his team was to compete for a championship this year. I was shocked to see how much accuracy DR lost in two weeks.
  19. UO is more than a single coach or team, we will be fine in the long term. With the expanded playoff we've all but missed the window win a natty with any reasonable certainty even if we do have a national caliber team. We just need to be grateful as fans when we play well. To think we almost won the game today with an absolute dumpster fire performance of the offense is amazing.
  20. Brock gets NIL money. Everyone on the roster does.
  21. Yeah. I think the hype before the season was really overblown. I predicted 9-3. Rebuilding the OL and breaking in two new coordinators is going to have its challenges.
  22. Going for two after the gimmie TD lost the game. Couldve gone to OT and the Ducks had so mojo at the end.
  23. The same media that started the hype train are the same media that needs to eat crow.
  24. Some days it is easier to love our Ducks than others…
  25. I called it before the season started: this Oregon team would end up being the Penn State of 2026. I'm personally always skeptical of any Duck team going into each season, but this one had the potential to be truly disastrous given how overblown the hype surrounding this team in the offseason was. The end of this year is (hopefully) going to result in some real soul searching for Lanning on his coaching hires and in-game decision making. If not, then it'll only be a matter of time before he's the one on the chopping block, and I'd hate to see that happen to a coach who seems to have genuinely embraced this team and this place.
  26. In other words, just be polite? I read Miss Manners' book many years ago, and that made it easy for me to comment and still be polite. On a long-gone sports message board another poster said he was impressed how I could verbally body-slam someone, and still be polite. Of course, I was talking about other teams, not the Ducks, so that helped. 😉
