  1. Past hour

  2. Miami down 31-24 with 57 seconds left. They just received the punt and have no timeouts left.
  3. So what amazes me is all the pundents blaming the loss ion osu2 failures rather than recognizing superior Duck performance! OBD won the middle 8 by a score of 21-0! At one point in the 3rd quarter, we out gained them over one hundred and some odd yards to -14 yards. I’m sorry, that was not Buckeye breakdown, that was Duck Domination! They didn’t give us anything, we took it!
  4. JJ should be an option during the search. That is it. These games he is calling are a working interview. But I would not automatically disqualify him. He is certainly helping his career and for that I am happy for him. Wild thought: if Ducks make playoffs and Ducks advance in playoffs... Does Dante come back to play a championship game? By then, he might be OK to do it.
  5. Wish I could have watch the game had to work. Looks like it was a great game anyways great to have it to the Bucknuts.
  6. Almost great coaching to go up 38 - 24. But after that, Oregon would run the ball into the box with no intention of even gaining a yard. They were 2nd and 10 all game long. Ohio St could not cover Oregon receivers. The runs up the middle were automatic failures. It is good that Ohio St imploded and played so poorly. Lets hope the new OC does not continue to do that. Lets hope something changes by next week. The other "negative" I have is how bad Perich was the first quarter. Why does he still play? A third neg would be trying the 53 yd field goal - out of his range and lower temps. Should have tried to get a first down. The positives I have are everything else the team did. Very good D line play. Linebackers were very "active" like they should be. OSU QB was "contained" mostly. No big runs. Those "hits" by Ify. OOOOOOOHHHH!!! I think the long bomb to Jeramiah was vs subs at end of game, so can't say much about that. But he was contained most of game. OSU receivers did not beat the Ducks like they usually beat all other teams. Ducks did not let them run the ball. On offense, I am not faulting the O line for lack of running attack. Those running plays did not have a chance. Need to go back to drawing board. 5 O linemen, no fullback, smaller/athletic TE, tiny WRs, 1 RB who does not run people over or make them miss. And no zone read threat from QB. Hill can break an occasional arm tackle, but he can't run through a wall. Raiola gutted out a good game for him. He had some bad moments, but he did not let the game get away from him. Coaching was not perfect, but some great calls were made that impacted the game. Passing plays were called that OSU was totally out of position for. The Buckeye DC got burned. After the 1st qtr, Ducks got stops when they needed them and shut out OSU for a very long time. That took the crowd out of it and made them go home early. OSU was beatable. No more Caleb Downs. No more Sonny Styles. No more fierce pass rush. They only have one great receiver. Their backup QB was below average. Their O line could not run block any better than Oregon's. I'd like to see Trad Ball play more and the Ducks work on plays to get him the ball in space. Hill running it up the middle was like CJ Verdell running it up the middle - if a hole is present, that is only when it works. They got Brandon the ball in space once or twice and OSU had no answer for it. Overall, I would give the game ball to the new OC. What a change from Mehringer.
  7. Add this to JJ's resume, probably at the top. 1999 - the last time Ohio State surrendered 38 consecutive points was against Wisconsin before the turn of the century. 169 - Before today's game, the number of games Ohio State had played without losing back-to-back games. Hey, Brutus, Duck here to remind you that Oregon's 2nd-string QB (at least for today 😎) is better than your 2nd-stringer! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!🙃Quack, Quack! With the always reasonable Buckeyes fans on the scene, Ryan Day might be available. 🤪
  8. "Did Oregon break Northwestern?" Northwestern is without Chiles this game, their starting QB. Northwestern's strength is the run game, Iowa's strength is run defense. By the way, due to Chiles replacement tonight, he is the 28th QB who has started a game in the Big Ten this season. It's not just Dante, Sayin who have missed games.
  9. I mention before that Lanning 2.0 will be a very dangerous animal. He is figuring out in real time when to trust his instincts to go for it and when to play it safe. It seems to have been working the last 1 1/2 games.
  10. Miami making a comeback. Now it’s 24-17
  11. Fuskies lost, too! Michigan down 9 vs Mich St
  12. Today

  13. Johnsonvis using someone else's playbook, but managing it more effectively. Let's see where things play out from here. If these guys come anywhere close to an NC, give him a raise and convert to an analyst's title.
  14. By the way... Did Oregon break Northwestern? They're down 21-3 vs IOWA
  15. Charles, keep the play calling for rest of the year. Use the after season to make long term decision. Definitely need a qualified (previous QB) QB coach. Johnson looks the best he has ever done at play calling in his career. Knock on wood. For next year, make a sure hire... ... unless he earns it (and wants it)
  16. To Notre Dame, 24-3, right now.
  17. Well he's probably earned a promotion and a raise, whatever that may entail. As far as the OC job, he deserves an interview but I'm guessing DL brings in someone else. Also not to be Captain Obvious but this is a two game sample size. We'll know more at the end of the season.
  18. I am sure Charles will be dropping some tasty Buckeye meltdowns soon. It's a skilled craft Charles has been perfecting for years. The three stooges (Fusky, Trojan and Buckeye) are the ones that usually garner such abuses from Charles. Can't wait
  19. US????? really😁
  20. In fairness, I seem to remember a similar meltdown going on with some fans here a couple weeks ago…
  21. FWIW, I think it should be JJ’s job to lose. If he beeps performing at the level he is performing at, why would anyone want to replace him? Whoever called the 44 to 10 fake punt is a freaking genius! That had to be the play of the game! It certainly changed the momentum of November 7 in the Shoe!
  22. No, the OC position at Oregon demands a serious search. Two games is way too small a sampling to draw any conclusions beyond JJ being better than Mehringer. JJ can be a part of that search, and he's got the rest of the season to boost his resume.
  23. Thanks, getting pretty beat up right now. But that win feels really good.
  24. Hope yer feelin better brother
  25. Lanning deserves his flowers. He has put on a clinic of how to coach a football team in an imperfect situation. We have watched this guy coach his absolute backside off. He has taken it on the chin and kept getting off the mat. Over and over again. We have seen him look compleatly lost, almost in tears, fear of what he has to say to his players and family. He has lost significant players to injury. Delt with criminal activity of players and assistant coaches. Had a bad hire and had to take action mid season. Fans and some in media calling for his job. He has stayed true to himself, God, team and family all the way through. And he just kept punching up, never quit. I don't know what happens from here, but I love this man. So so proud of him. He has earned his right to coach this Oregon Ducks. He has taken this season to a level few get an opportunity to. He will come out the other side stronger and better as coach, a man, father and husband then he ever intended to be when he started this adventure. Win or lose, Lanning is my Coach. And the depth of that meaning makes my eyes sweaty. Go Ducks! God willing, let's get it done this year.
  26. To answer this question... No, Jay Johnson should not be the OC next season. However, maybe he becomes our full time QB coach... but maybe not depending. Hell maybe he even gets a Co-OC title. But we need new ideas in the program. Expirence has once again shown how it plays out on the field. He stayed calm and kept at it and things broke open. First quarter kinda sucked ... The slow starts aren't great but this defense can step up and cover when it needs to and the offense can build a lead and let the defense breathe. I kinda feel like we were playing Mike Leach again at the end of the fourth with Day trying his darnest to make a game out of it.
  27. I don’t know. He has done a great job and should be considered but not anointed.
