  2. Physical maturity and mental maturity are quite often not on the same page. NIL is not something you’ve necessarily earned; it’s something you’ve simply taken advantage of.
  3. It feels like a CF take on MLB’s home-stretch trade policy when the big boys with a shot to contend load-up for the final push. Maybe it’s Michigan that needs the restraining order and not the players.
  4. Oregon... 24-15 2 T/O @ S 274 YP I'm trying to learn to adjust to more modest expectations.
  5. Kinda like getting married! First marriages fail 45-50% of the time. Second marriages fail 2/3rds of the time. Third marriages fail 3/4th of the time.
  6. I agree with John here. A 50/50 risk/reward ratio is terrible in real life, which is exactly what the pros and cons are of doing it this early in the game. Dan is taking the points on field goals and now I expect will begin taking the points on PATs.
  7. Oregon 23 Neb 20 1 To 2 sacks 245 Yards passing
  8. Actually, I read it here first. Thank you!
  9. Marsh Duck - Trust in Lanning is Breaking Not in this home.
  10. Does our center have another year?
  11. It's the right thing and I've been a long time proponent of a top 24 team playoff. However with the extra games and NIL spreading out this will cause will reduce the odds we win a natty in any given year. We have missed our high probability window. But hey, hello 9-3 teams that can turn it around and make a deep run, it will be more fun.
  12. I just hope the highly rated OT's that are true freshmen will stick around and develop, if they can move with 360 lbs (or maybe get down to 330 for next year without losing strength) maybe the future for 2-3 more years at OT will be grand, with improved OLine coaching we'll bring in more 5* linemen and portals
  13. Today

  14. Great idea for next year, but there is only so much change you can install mid year.
  15. Oregon 42-6 3 to 3 sacks 275 passing yards
  16. Nebraska wins 21-17 0 take-away turnovers 0 sacks 117 passing yards sorry...
  17. Love the read! And welcome back! For the remainder of this season, I like the idea of incorporating more of this, particularly if it simplifies things up front and allows the OL to play faster and more physically. I'm not sure this personnel necessarily lends itself to becoming a predominantly power-gap offense overnight, but there's certainly value in making it a bigger part of what we do. More than anything, I'd like to see them identify what this group does well, simplify the offense around those strengths, and finally establish an identity. Use the run game to create opportunities for all that talent we have at the skill positions instead of trying to completely reinvent ourselves halfway through the season. Beyond this year, I'd like to see Lanning bring in someone with a fresh take on offense. A rising star or veteran matters not to me so long as they have a proven philosophy and the ability to adapt it to the personnel they have.
  18. Safety in the safety numbers? Four Oregon Safeties Who Could See Their Roles Increase Amid Injury Woes
  19. While the official 2019 Georgia Football Coaches directory gave Glenn Schumann the "co-defensive coordinator" title, Lanning was explicitly designated as the sole Defensive Coordinator. Lanning carried the full, primary DC title and called the plays during his entire three-year run leading the defense. Schumann was elevated to work under and alongside him as the "co-DC" to assist with game planning and reward his value to the program, but Lanning was never a "co-DC" himself. The lead defensive coordinator role at UGA is officially designated as the Fain & Billy Slaughter Defensive Coordinator.
  20. Pancho "Coach (A’lique) Terry says it’s facts over feelings right now." Oregon Center Iapani 'Poncho' Laloulu Doesn't Hold Back About Ducks' Offensive Line
  21. Trio of Duck O-linemen have new NIL deal with "Law Firm" Oregon football: Trio of Duck OL sign NIL deal with Morgan & Morgan Now go out and earn the deal!!!
  22. I'm reminded of Tua having back-to-back concussions. Another concussion will damage Dante's NFL Draft stock big time. He might not come back and if he does it will only be when he and his team feel they are past that quick 2nd concussion risk.
  23. I think everyone has looked worse than they are due our horizontal RPO zone blocking scheme being so predictable and soft. Drew's play calls look bad; Terry looks like a coach who can't develop the OL, and our blue-chip OL players look like they aren't good. It's a snowball effect. I'm keying off Dan. He said we didn't have a good enough plan for Riola to succeed after halftime, he said UCLA had a better plan than us post-game.
  24. Thank you for that detailed analysis! I'd be happy to see the offense go back to the old Dillingham schemes, though I share Charles' concern that the tackles we have now may be inadequate for this (or any other offense for that matter). But who knows, maybe this helps simplify their assignments and allows them to concentrate on fewer things as they're learning and growing.
  25. It is that time of the week again to have fun with our game prediction contest! Guesses on other threads don't count--only those here, and only those entries completely filled out with the tiebreakers are valid entries. Let's have fun with it as we have so many years in the past... Let me know: --Which team wins: --Score: --How many turnovers created by Oregon? --How many sacks of the opponent by Oregon? --How many passing yards by Oregon? My prediction of Oregon vs. Nebraska: Oregon 31-17 2 1 272 Yes, I believe that Our Beloved Ducks can turn this around!
  26. The Beavs have the MWC refugees shaking in their boots… that’s for sure.
