  2. I was thinking the same thing for the UCLA game and ended up with a lump of coal. I do find this matchup fascinating, but being "entertaining" is dependent on if we can move ball forward more often than we move backwards or give it away.
  3. Remember, that was with the mindset of nothing to lose and saving the day. Not the same pressure as when you’re the starter and not as loose. It doesn’t mean he can’t; but it’s a big mind adjustment between the two roles - especially at QB.
  4. I’ve been thinking the same thing. The feeling reminds me of those days when we seemed to be reinventing ourselves almost on a weekly basis. In those days it was because we were inventing what we would eventually become. Now, it feels like it’s because what we've become is stale.
  5. We have not been in this spot in a very long time. We could continue to be a poor team, or we could improve into something notable....but which? This is entertainment we are not used to....What Will Oregon Do? Will we come out in a Power-Gap Offense as dazedinconfused believes, or in an updated passing offense as I lean towards? Which QB? How long? Can the defense continue as last week? Can our punting game help us again? So many questions, and it will be very, very interesting to watch. This is not what we expected, but you have to admit--it WILL be highly entertaining!

  7. No Dante & No Stewart Nebraska 31-21 1 1 231
  8. If the Beavs made the playoffs, they'd get absolutely crushed. Much like we did the last couple of years.
  9. If we're thinking about the same play, Brock actually overthrew Dak by 3 feet so arm strength isn't an issue (he's not elite but has enough). He was under pressure because the OL was collapsing yet again so accuracy went out the window.
  10. I see more losses from failed two point conversions vs wins from a random unnecessary 2pt conversion. JMHO and call me ultra conservative but if you don't need the 2pt conversion then don't attempt it. Take the point(s) given.
  11. Dan Lanning needs 5 Oregon Ducks to be X-Factors to pull out win over NebraskaThe 5 Oregon Ducks who could prove pivotal vs. NebraskaJordon Davison - Running BackWhile Dan Lanning hasn't named a starting quarterback for Saturday Night, the Ducks offense would get a massive lift if the running game started to find a rhythm. Over the first two games of Big Ten play, Jordon Davison has had 29 carries for just 107 yards, averaging just 3.69 yards per carry. The Ducks are still looking for their first 100 yard rushing performance, and it would take a ton of pressure off whoever starts at quarterback. Jamari Johnson - Tight EndDrew Mehringer's biggest flaw at the moment is the fact that he's not finding a way to get his biggest playmakers involved in the game. Jamari Johnson waited until the 57th minute of the UCLA game to get his first target, which is unacceptable. Getting Johnson involved early is going to be a priority, and he's going to need to make the most out of his targets. Dakorien Moore - Wide ReceiverDakorien Moore continues to do more with less as he led the team with 77 yards on just 4 catches. The quarterbacks would have life made much easier on themselves if Drew Mehringer designed touches for Moore, as he's electric after the catch. There may not be a more talented player on the team than Moore, and it's time for the staff to start using him like every other school uses their star wideouts. If Evan Stewart is ruled out for the game, Moore is going to be the elder statesman in the room, and will have to take pressure off the freshmen. Na'eem Offord - CornerbackOregon's defense wasn't the issue vs. UCLA, but Na'eem Offord did get beat on the opening drive for a 62 yard gain while allowing 2 catches for 88 yards on the day. Nebraska star wide receiver Jacorey Barney lines up the most on the outside, meaning Offord is going to draw that matchup often. The Ducks can't afford to let Barney beat them in this game, and Na'eem Offord is going to have to do his best to make a big impact. Matayo Uiagalelei - Edge RusherPart of the reason Oregon was even in the UCLA game despite the offense's struggles was the dominance of the Ducks' defensive line. Matayo Uiagalelei played his best game of the season with 7 tackles and a pair of sacks against the Bruins. Hopefully, the UCLA game serves as the start of a hot streak for Uiagalelei, as the defense is going to need to step up the rest of the way until Dante Moore returns. Autzen ZooDan Lanning needs 5 Oregon Ducks to be X-Factors to pull...Coming off a loss to UCLA which drops the Ducks to 3-2 on the season, it's now do-or-die the rest of the way for Oregon. This weekend brings another tough clash
  12. Team. A Team is not young men reaching out with one hand to hopefully make an exciting catch and appear on Sports Center. Not a defensive end rushing out of his lane to make an exciting Sports Center Tackle. Fundamentals are a part of everything in our lives. Ego is not. You may have the most Expensive 5 Star athletes, the Best of the Best, but without 'that' special atmosphere, you will Never have a Team. This is not the Jim Brown era, not High School where one young man can dominate-well, RARELY. There are so many excellent players and coaches. We have a Great bunch of athletes, many wonderful human beings as well. Just my opinion, but if our Coaches can Coach for the Team, can Trust these young men and Truly Lead them as a TEAM, these Ducks can be awesome. Think back to Mike and Nick days. Those guys must have been amazing to do what they did with the talent level they had. Hey, ALL these guys at this stage of the game are pretty Damn Good Athletes! We are close, I hope. Big THANK YOU to everyone that contributes to all this that Charles has put together for US. I hope the Duck Coaches can organize and lead their guys in Football as well as Charles has Lead Us into a TEAM!
  13. The problem is Lanning's hubris in not hiring qualified F1 drivers to drive the F1 car level talent he paid to come play and thought he could grab Jimmy Lipper from the pit crew to race the car instead. As Lanning isn't an exceptional coach he reallllllly needs to be a better CEO and hire actual coaches and not just barely adequate buddies.
  14. Me O My. I expected fallout from Altman's departure but......😳. Hope the team(?) gets over it before games that count, well...start to count.
  15. People commenting on Dak Moore leaving but Lanning offenses don't seem to wantt o really use wide receivers to their maximum. So if money was about the same I would go to another program that favored throwing downfield over moronic and poorly blocked passes out to the flat over and over and over.
  16. Oregon wins 31-24 2 sacks 2 tos Pass yds= 215
  17. Ducks manage to get history's first negative score. Nebraska wins 40 to minus 10 0 sacks 0 turnovers 1 yard passing
  18. All depends on the defense. No matter who starts at QB we have to control the ball. We can’t get into a shoot out. We don’t have the offensive coaching talent to out scheme anyone. Don’t turn the ball over and hold Nebraska to under 20 points and we can win. The Ducks need to win 8 games plus a bowl to build momentum for next year. The CFP is gone. This is not the same team as in previous years. Maybe they start Akili, no tape on him could work to our advantage. Style points don’t matter, winning does. Forget comparisons to other Duck teams they don’t apply. Lanning screwed the pooch with his assistant hires. He will lose players to the portal, pick up a few. But there is talent enough to have a very good year next year. Our non-conference schedule is easy. I picked us to win tomorrow in a grinder game.

  24. Nebraska 6-3 0 0 39 I have over estimated the score every time this season. Not this time.
  25. A continuation of our defensive line improvement will be appreciated Saturday. Matayo's improvement will be needed against Nebraska. Oregon Ducks On SIDan Lanning Names Oregon EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei's Big ChangeThe Oregon Ducks’ defensive line production raised eyebrows in the program’s 2026 nonconference slate.
