College Football Playoff Committee Initial Top 25 - My Thoughts - Yours?
The PO committee's top 12 includes a team from the Power 4. G6 No. 25, Boise State, would take Ohio State's place in the PO field. Below is an SP+ ranking of the Top 12 and Boise, and a list of SP+ Top 40 teams remaining to be played. SP+ No. 1 - Georgia - at Ole Miss, Missouri, and at South Carolina. No. 2 - Ohio State - Oregon, Northwestern, at Nebraska, and Michigan. The SEC has 10 teams ranked by the committee, but only Ohio State has four Top-40 SP+ on the schedule. No. 3 - Notre Dame - Miami and SMU. If No. 11 PO committee-ranked Notre Dame loses at home this Saturday, it could be out of the playoff. Notre Dame's best win came in the opening game against 5-3 Wisconsin. Perhaps ND should have opened against USC instead of playing BYU in Provo. No. 4 - LSU - Alabama, Texas, at Tennessee. Three tough games before the final game of the season at Arkansas. No. 5 - Miami - at Notre Dame, Duke. Miami's best win was at No. 16 Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons are also ranked No. 16 by SP+. Miami's defense was lit up by FSU's Ashton Daniels and UNC's Billy Edwards. Miami is the PO committee's No. 1 team based mostly on the Eye Test. No. 6 - Indiana - USC, at UW. No team deserves a week off more than Indiana. Nine games played before the chance to rest and heal in Week 10. No. 7 - Texas - at Missouri, at LSU, at Texas A&M. No. 8 - Alabama - at LSU. Win in Baton Rouge on Saturday, and PO committee No. 5 Alabama should finish in the committee's top 4 with a 1st -round bye. With a loss at LSU and remaining games at Vanderbilt, vs. Chattanooga (Choo-Choo!), and Auburn, a 9-3 Bama, except for the fact that the committee has a love affair with the Tide, could miss the 2026 PO. Bama's out-of-conference win over 3-5 FSU should not move the PO committee's rankings needle. But again, it's Alabama. No. 9 - Utah - BYU, at Arizona. Should be one heck of a Holy War this Saturday. The game kicks off at 10 AM local. FYI, PO committee ranked No. 3 Utah has played the 83rd most 'difficult' schedule in CFB; there are 68 Power 4 teams. No. 10 - Texas Tech - at Oklahoma State, at Baylor. Texas Tech has played college football's 68th strength-of-schedule. Why are the Red Raiders ranked 13th by the PO committee? Because of a two-point win over No. 17 Houston in Lubbock? No. 11 - Tennessee - Kentucky, at Texas A&M, LSU. I expect Lane Kiffin will receive a warm welcome. No. 12 - Oregon - at Ohio State, Michigan, UW. I'm keepin' the faith! No. 31 - Boise State - None.

Oregon Baseball Has Signed a GREAT Portal Class...
After football season....I will start a thread about portal players joining us. We LOST a ton of great players to MLB, graduation, and the portal, but we added a ton as I believe Coach Waz is throwing mud on the wall to see what sticks...especially with pitching. I will say that as bad as our Baseball NIL money available is, apparently USC's is worse. We got a decent transfer pitcher from them, and a .300 hitter from them! A whole bunch of other transfers, especially pitchers to watch and follow later. Our new pitching coach has quite the reputation, so Oregon got quite a few pitchers join us! Ducks have a big tournament in February with Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Baylor--should be fun. Will Sanford is BACK!

Jordon Davison is OUT for Ohio State, and Maybe the Year?
Davison has looked like he was fighting an injury all year and never quite had the crisp pop of acceleration and change of direction he had last year. It maybe best for him to fully heal and get ready for next year or if by some chance the Ducks make the playoffs he'd be ready to go then.

Jordon Davison is OUT for Ohio State, and Maybe the Year?
Apparently it wasn't enough to lose yards every time we run a player into the flat to catch a ball with his back to the defense, we can knock them out for the season too. I called these plays the "sitting duck" play for reason. I feel bad for Jordan.

Rumors are flying that since he is out a couple of weeks, that he might decide to be done for this year.- College Football Playoff Committee Initial Top 25 - My Thoughts - Yours?
Doctor, enjoy No. 21 South Carolina vs. A&M. Except for Georgia, ranked 2nd by the AP Poll voters and the committee, the other nine SEC teams are collectively ranked 19 places higher by the committee than by the AP voters. The five ranked Big Ten teams are collectively ranked 5 places higher, led by Oregon moving up from AP No. 27 to committee-ranked No. 23. Oregon has three SP+ top-40 teams remaining on the schedule: Ohio State, Michigan, and Washington.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
I self-censor. Meaning, if we lose or I disagree with a playing philosophy, I don't post for a few days while I meltdown. If we win, I figure I don't want to jinx the team, so I don't post to celebrate, or boast. But...I am always lurking and reading.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
I’ve certainly had my pessimism given how the season has progressed, but I actually avoid all media for a few days after a loss. Media and social media overall go heavily negative after a loss, and I find disengaging to be healthier for me than wallowing in it. It’s easier to wait out the wave of catastrophizing if I never engage with it.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
Normal behavior around here is pretty much unique to this site... We agree to to avoid the rancor of the world around us.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
It was great to see the Ducks come back after a 14 point deficit. To me that is the mark of a good team. Win or lose Ill be a fan until they burry me.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
I love the interaction of the positive and negative. It makes for great discussions in the threads. It is the very part of the fabric woven into a true forum. The foundation for a great forum. One simple rule drives this Forum. Respect for others! There are plenty of sites that allow posters to denigrade, criticize and crush other people's posts. The more negative the better. The team losing, playing poorly or not bringing the A+ game makes it easier to criticize. That criticism is fueled by passion and sheer disappointment. I cannot stress my absolute and heartfelt disappointment over the course of the season. To make it worse were the fans jumping off the bandwagon and the vile criticism toward the players and the coaches. Many posters expressed those feelings on the Forum. And did it within the rules. Including Duck homers, honks and those that live and breath all things Ducks. And I love that and look forward to all those posts. This is where the rubber meets the road. IMHO some of those, who criticize the Ducks, absolutely want no criticism sent back in their direction. If you can't take it, don't dish it out comes to mind. Perhaps there are those that only want to post when the Ducks fail or lose. This Duck fan loses no sleep if they don't post. My concern is over those who don't post because they might have gotten their feelings hurt thru well presented, differing view points. Those differing view points are so welcome, as long as they are respectful of others. Support your view points and refute the view points that disagree. No reason to stop posting. There have been some viscious, hateful posters on the Forum over the years that Charles and the moderators had to block from the site. They didn't like the rules. I hope those who only like to criticize and complain keep posting. Play nice, take your medicine and strengthen the conversation. I wonder would it hurt you to find and post something nice and positive about the Ducks. There was a great deal of positive from the Noryhwestern game. The duck coaches and players improved in alot of areas that many of you NegaDucks were complaining about. Just saying!- Oregon - Ohio St. Pre-game Reports, Interviews, Etc.

While I agree that Oregon still has a shot at the playoffs, I think they will have to win games in a more consistent/dominant fashion to impress the playoff committee. That means #8 will have to play the rest of the season like he did against USC, The run game and the O-Line will have to perform the way they have the past two games (5.6 and 4.9 YPC), and the defense will have to hold their opponents to 14-21 PPG.- PLEASE READ: A Forum Reminder of NO POLITICS.....EVER!

See the post above, (No. 5) as you are new here and have not been through what the rest of us have with venting. And we have a rule against it because it has been such a problem in the past. What we see is normal behavior....it is human nature, and it is interesting to watch it play out, hence my observation.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
Even discussing the negative on that is fine. This is a very astute group of people, but I have a hard time conveying the difference between discussing negative, versus going over-the-top negative and venting. We have a rule against venting No. 31, and suggest people read No. 31a, also, 31b especially, and 31d. My concern is that those who have great observations that are negative will not post, as they don't understand that I want the negative posts, but not the innovative insults and the venting. We've been through this before with the final year of Cristobal, and the year of losing to the Huskies twice....was quite a meltdown for some. Again negative is fine, as that is what we do in a forum. And I have certainly not only participated in posting negative, but made jokes in the process. You are a great example of posting both ways, and I appreciate that. It gives you much more credibility with your negative posts when you post positive along with them. And I understand that some years, like this one, we are going to have a ton more negative posts. It is the way it is, and I've tolerated a TON more than I prefer, but since they did not break the rules....I let them all stay. It was observation on my part about human nature, as being a moderator for thousands of posts--I've learned a ton about our tendencies over the years.- College Football Playoff Committee Initial Top 25 - My Thoughts - Yours?
Many are questioning Bama at No. 5. SISI:AM | The Very Weird CFP RankingsAlabama got some extra love from the committee, of course, but that wasn’t the only thing worth grumbling about.- College Football Playoff Committee Initial Top 25 - My Thoughts - Yours?
I am glad they are going to 24 teams, because they just can’t seem to get this right. Who you play has to mean something. The Indiana / Ohio State example is the perfect example. In my opinion, Ohio State should be above Indiana. Their body of work is much better and they beat Indiana head to head. The committee needs develop something like the RPI or NET from basketball. They need to consider SOS, Quad wins and losses, margin of victory (or loss), home or away, etc. They need to stop looking just at wins and losses.- College Football Playoff Committee Initial Top 25 - My Thoughts - Yours?
Absolute farce of an initial CFP ranking. The tea leaves have been read. The tarot cards have been turned over. The kangaroo court made it clear that the college football landscape is not P4 and G6. It's P1 and G9. Only the SEC teams are allowed to lose games and not be penalized. If Georgia, Ole Miss, Bama, Texas and Kentucky lose a conference game, i wonder if they would fall out of the top 12? SEC teams, currently outside of the top 12, are readily positioned to move up by winning. The SEC may have multiple 9-3 teams make the CFP. Could certain, blue blood SEC teams get in with 8-4 records? 10-2 teams in BIG, BIG 12 and ACC may not make it in, unless they win their conference championship. ND will not get in if they lose to Miami. If BYU loses to Utah they may not make it in. I wonder if a 10-2 UCLA or Iowa would get in without being the conference champion? OBD's makng the BIG title game would not be enough. They would need to win out, then win the BIG title. Even winning out does not get them in the title game without help. Every game OBD's play the rest of the season is a playoff, single elimination game. GO DUCKS! - Jordon Davison is OUT for Ohio State, and Maybe the Year?
