This is one of those games where....I am just not very rational. It is hard for me to even enjoy the game, due to all the animus built up over the years. But, let's discuss the game before and during, here in this thread. Being critical of coaching decisions and player performance is FINE, as that is what we do in a forum. But do not get personal towards the players, coaches, or fellow OBD forum members. But being angry, joyous,....all of it is fine. I hope you can enjoy the actual game more than I do!

Well one thing I can tell you. In my opinion you will NOT be defending your title. You don't have enough offense. And losing both your prime RBs doesn't matter. The offense isn't as potent as last year. Which again highlights how much luck really comes into play. You were five yards from losing a heartbreaker. No IFs ANDs or BUTs. But I will say this. The B1G is going to have a very tough time winning the Natty period. OBD do NOT look like a playoff team. IU and tOSU2 don't have enough firepower to withstand the pool of talent this year. Michigan should be 2-1 and unless Bryce Underwood miraculously starts throwing like a QB, they are toast. USUC has no defense. Aaaaand that's about it.

Oregon definitely has the talent to erase all memory of Stillwater by the end of November. Comes down to trench play... Shocker! Can the defensive front live up to the hype? Can the O line perform just well enough to get the running game respectable? And can the new coordinators perform at a high level given the lack of experience? Like everyone else, I don't know. Definitely has an effect on the cortisol levels leading into this USC game this today.

Indy works for me. So does NW. So does SUC. So does fusky.

Well the "NW" includes Idaho, Montana and Utah. The PNW is Oregon, Washington and Northern California being they have a Pacific coast line. I know nothing about the state of Indiana, probably never will. I apologize, I didn't know "Indy" can be used in a way that is offensive. But it's just my ignorance of a state that I have never had connection to.

Chiles has now had games just like this againt IU's D for the past three years for two different teams. Northwestern's Braun has been great the short time he has been there. NW will upset a big name team this year. I told IU grads in Chicago (friends) that it would be a one score game. They laughed but as of this morning have not answered my texts or calls to them. On a side note to Log ... if you are going to be in the BIG at least get it right. "Indy" has NOTHING to do with Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana is either IU or Indiana University. "Indy" goes with the Indy 500 and Indianapolis. I guess I could call it Oregon University instead of the University of Oregon. 😂

Northwestern started slow in the first half, at one point Indiana had 200 yards vs 20 yards offense for Northwestern. If not for the slow start, due to NW O-line failing and bad throws by Chiles, NW would have won.

Northwestern put up a heck of an effort. Saturday, Nebraska plays Michigan State in East Lansing.

Heck of a game! 29-23 Indiana. But it was Northwestern 16-14 in the 4th quarter. Terrific game by Aiden Chiles, eclipsed by Indiana RB Lee Beebe Jr. rushing for 203 yards. Josh Hoover scored the winning TD, but went 19-29 passing for 201 yards; not bad, but not in the Fernando zone. NW, as I believe the Wildcats will show in Week 5 in the opening game in renovated Ryan Field against Penn State, is LEGIT. Chip Kelly and Jerry Neuheisel have worked wonders with Chiles and the entire offense. The SEC may be deeper, but the B1G middle- and lower-level teams are stepping up. Indiana's 20th consecutive win did not come easy.
