Sanders-Frison Hired as Director of Player Development, Recruitment and External RelationsOregon men's basketball head coach Dana Altman has announced the hiring of Markhuri Sanders-Frison as the program's Director of Player Development, Recruitment and External Relations. The Ducks have also announced that veteran assistant coach Kevin McKenna has retired after 16 seasons on the Oregon bench. Sanders-Frison was a graduate assistant with the Ducks last season, after spending the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at Idaho, where he also oversaw player development while helping guide the Vandals. Prior to his time in Moscow, he served as a graduate assistant with Oregon from 2022-24. Sanders-Frison also serves as the player development coach for the Chinese Senior National Team. https://goducks.com/news/2026/7/29/mens-basketball-sanders-frison-hired-as-director-of-player-development-recruitment-and-external-relations

FLOCK TALK: EMPTY CHAIRS?Who Is Missing From the College Sports Negotiations?Congress is working to stabilize college athletics, but the athletes whose compensation will be regulated still do not have equal standing in the process. The Protect College Sports Act has moved through several rounds of revisions as Congress attempts to create a national framework for college athletics. The bill addresses everything from medical coverage and scholarships to transfers, NIL agreements, direct school payments and antitrust protection. The most important story of the past two weeks, however, may not be any single provision in the bill. It may be the process through which those provisions are being written. Lawmakers have been communicating extensively with the Big Ten and SEC over changes the conferences believe are necessary before they can support the legislation. Revised proposals have included a new multimillion-dollar retention pool, changes involving women’s and Olympic sports, associated-entity rules, state-law preemption and legal protections for enforcing compensation limits. As of Thursday morning, a “best and final” version had reportedly been delivered to the Big Ten and SEC after congressional staff, White House attorneys and conference representatives worked on the language late into the previous night. I never take seats allocated to visitors…the coliseum is huge and you want to be between the 20 yard lines, and no more than half way up. Bring binoculars if you get bad seats…lol

After opening that "view" link, another thing to keep in mind is if you are sitting in a low row in those sections you will not be able to see the full scope of the endzone because your view will be blocked by that white tent behind the endzone.

Not to say you shouldn't prioritize tickets in the visitors section for fan connection, but be aware if you do you'll feel like you're watching from a spot halfway to Disneyland. https://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/324138/Los+Angeles+Memorial+Coliseum/section-200/row-21/seat-37/

re: that Rose Bowl 8-3 score Maybe good for a bar bet? Most people will remember Mariota was QB and was 26 of 36, for 338 yds (and remember perhaps Winston had more yardage passing), but will they remember who passed for the 2-pt conversion to make it 8-3? Taylor Alie. Because it was a PAT play, his name does not appear in game's passing stats.

Oregon is the BEST at....and Standup-Cig, & Poor Jed Fisch...
Fun question and one that will hopefully be decided on the field one day. Where are the games to be played? I think the locale would definitely matter, and it's why I hope that if we have a B1G vs SEC football challenge, it will be a home-and-home series before a change in opponent. Playing in Austin would be a challenge, as it would be for the Longhorns visiting Autzen. Sark in Autzen. No games when he was with SC. 2010 - Oregon 53 UW 16. 2012 - Oregon 52 UW 21. I'd turn to the bottle too. 🤪 Seriously, hats off to Sark for his recovery.

OFF TOPIC: Oregon vs USC Tickets
Last time there, I bought two good tickets between the 45 and 45. Surrounded by USC fans and they were very cordial. This was the Kenjon Barner game when he ran wild for around 327 yards and we had a rookie QB named Marcus who played lights out. We won a shoot out and the fans around us said " We hope your DUCKS go all the way this year!". Very gracious. I am eye balling Sept 26 myself but have not got a buy in from the spouse yet. GO DUCKS! I would pass on the visitor section.

OFF TOPIC: Oregon vs USC Tickets
The game will probably be a sellout. Besides, as you probably know, the visitor seats are in the worst area....on the far southeast end in the corner. A view of the back of the goal posts at an angle. In the distance a game is happening. Depending on game time the sun may be an issue. Trojan fans usually are among the most laid back group there is. The student body (where the noise is generated) tends to be wealthy or foreign that are reasonably well behaved and respectful. The alums and parents are mostly quiet. They love the tradition of the program but would be embarrassed to get caught acting out. Of course a few idiots always exist but you would probably find them being told to behave. Lucas Museum for narrative art (1.5 billion cost) opens for the first time just days prior to the game. Right next to the Colly. Might be worth a few hours.
