  2. To be honest... I don't think firing Mehringer solves the problem. At least not mid season. The reality is that the quarterbacks are under coached. Moore was dreadful vs Oklahoma State and Raiola was dreadful vs UCLA. Part of that is on the OC and part of that is on the qb coach. Moore regressed this season (before injury). The offensive line talent is just not there and they are being under coached. Tight ends are being pushed more into blocking so they aren't a divserve weapon in this scheme like they were in previous years and they also feel a bit under coached. I do believe Mehringer has to go at the end of the season. Oregon needs a top tier OC. We aren't a G6 or FCS program that makes do on a budget. We are a premier brand and a destination job. It needs to be treated that way when it comes to hires. The scheme can change and mold into something new, Lanning's stubbornness to keep effectively the same scheme from Dillingham but without the Dillingham creativity is just not working. Stein riffed on it in his own way and it mostly worked. We need a staff of coaches with strong coaching resumes. Douglas and Samples are great examples of younger guys but they had established great track records and those positions have been fantastic! But the internal promotions killing the program right now. Stagnant ideas and now more than ever the same flaws in the schemes are just worse than ever. How to beat Oregon... disrupt the Offensive line enough to stop the run and then take away the short passes. Done! Boise State did it, Oklahoma did it, and UCLA did it. That needs a new coordinator for sure... but the other coaches need to be evaluated as well. My article this week was delayed but will be out tomorrow on this subject matter for sure. All I can say is thankfully I took up another hobby over the summer, HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts), and I love it or else this fall would be quite miserable right now.
  3. Everyone here is so negative. Look at the bright side, they did give themselves a really cool nickname "The Law Firm." Being serious, what everyone here is bringing up can't be overstayed. Terry owns these results. These are his players that he "developed (or didn't as it seems). No portal transfers developed by other coaches to really lean on. Terry needs to go.
  4. Oregon delivered one of its most abysmal offensive performances we've seen since maybe the the Redbox Bowl of 2018. That offense at least grew into the vision of it's coach in a positive way (Mario Cristobal, Marcus Arroyo). This offense looks absolutely lost with zero identity or creativity for the talent on the field. Drew Mehringer does not look like he is growing into the position. In fact he seems to be a major liability in both play calling and now, most likely, retaining talent by the season's end. An offense is a sum of its pieces, and some of those pieces are clearly underperforming as well. Mehringer should bear the brunt of the criticism but A'lique Terry shares a substantial weight of this quagmire. He either can't develop players or does not have an eye for talent in recruiting. Linemen are consistently missing assignments, not getting the push needed to open running lanes, and bad pass protection is forcing every QB behind center to make nearly all of their passes off platform. Mehringer seems to have inherited a bunch of Will Stein plays and is just guessing at what to utilize and when. He is woefully wasting the plethora of talent he has to work with. To me, it is without question that Mehringer be replaced this coming offseason with a hungry, well-spoken offensive mind from a national coaching search. Most fans, including myself have entertained the thought of whether Lanning should pull the plug now. But it isn't that simple. If Lanning relieves Mehringer of his play-calling duties he will very likely still have to utilize in-house personnel for the remainder of the season. Ross Douglas is well though of as a wide receiver's coach, but has zero experience in calling offenses. The same can be said of running back coach Rashaad Samples. Oregon could theoretically hire someone mid-season as an "analyst" to assist the coaching staff. But as far as reaching for a new OC in the middle of the year; someone would have to be brought in that already knows Lanning's philosophy, most of the plays, the tendencies of players as well as their strengths and weaknesses. I don't see this as a viable option. Lanning has said everything is on the table. As I said before. An offense is the sum of its pieces. These pieces are running out of time to make a positive impact on a season that is suddenly on life support.

  6. Gambling Dan needs to change. If he didn't go for two in the first TD, he would've needed to go for 2 in the end of the game and we would have gone to OT. As to 4th down conversions, we are 2 of 10 so far if we take out the PSU game. https://cfbstats.com/2026/team/529/fourthdown/offense/gamelog.html
  7. Unfortunately, I think a lot more will pick Nebreska this week, me included... ☹️
  8. Man. This thread aged like old milk lol! I give Dan props for showing restraint one game and then he rolls the dice in the next one the first chance he gets. I think the go for two and 4th and go for it play books need to be ritually burned.
  9. He sure didn't show it against UCLA.
  10. Raiola is not the only QB being roasted. https://www.yardbarker.com/college_football/articles/jokes_pour_in_after_arch_mannings_disastrous_turnover_against_oklahoma/s1_127_44413555?utm_source=mb&utm_medium=email&mb_edition=20261012&mb_loc=left_r
  11. OBD and the Cornhuskers are on the wrong side of the Plus/Minus Week 6 ledger. Lane Kiffin is now 13-13 in SEC road games. The game vs. Kentucky went to OT because the KY FG kicker barfed twice. Raiola's terrible performance against the Bruins hopefully sets the stage for a great rebound story against his former team.👍👌🤞 Five of UCLA's seven remaining games are home games. The two road games are at Minnesota and Michigan. But in cold weather. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2026/10/11/college-football-winners-losers-week-6-lsu-lane-kiffin-oklahoma/92201168007/?utm_source=usat-path-to-playoff-nletter76&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=sportsgr

  15. Having just now come out of my post game funk, I realize that yes, we played poorly, offense was non existent, 7 turnovers were atrocious, line and qb play were pathetic, but at the end of the game, we were still right there in the game thanks to the defense. We had a qb showing a little spark of momentum, down at the 1 1/2 yd line for a 2 pt conversion and a tie. If the refs had placed the ball on the 1/2 yd line correctly, the play would have been successful and we'd be playing in overtime. Who knows how that would have ended. Win or lose, we would still have the same complaints about the line, the qb play, the offense, and the play calling, but 4-1 vs 3-2 record would have felt a lot better. .
  16. I would start Thomas if Donte can’t go. DR has enough pressure after the UCLA performance, you just add more vs his old team. Thomas can’t any worse.
  17. I have always bled green and yellow. Season ticket holder for 43 years but not since covid. Too old to go to night games and drive 3 hours to get home so no longer attend games. Winning the OBD guessing game is a dubious honor. Adding to the disappointment is the reaction to the uniforms. Please, never wear them again. They are almost as ugly as the "Bra" uniforms that OSU sported about 10 years ago. Go ducks.
  18. Evan Stewart post game interview. Oregon Ducks On SIOregon Receiver Evan Stewart Doesn't Hold Back After UCLA...Oregon Ducks wide receiver Evan Stewart spoke rather frankly when meeting with the media after losing to the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, revealing his thoughts on
  19. I enjoy hearing the perspective of former Oregon football players and coaches, and I find George Wrightster is knowledgeable and fair when it come down to evaluating the team. The below video includes his instant reactions from the Oregon-UCLA game. Some of the highlights: • The Oregon defense finally showed up. The Oregon offense gave UCLA great field position all game and Oregon’s defense held their own. After the first drive, UCLA got the ball in Oregon territory on the next four possessions and Oregon’s defense held UCLA to zero points. UCLA also averaged ~3 yards per play. It was good enough to win most games. • Oregon’s offensive line was terrible. If Oregon had a decent showing, up front, we would have just run the ball and won the game. • George Wrighster was not a huge fan of the Dylan Raiola signing and this game was what he was concerned about. If Dante Moore played, even with the bad offensive line play, Oregon would have won the game. He thought that Brock Thomas should have started the second half and maybe even then Oregon would have won the game. • While he didn’t like some of the play calls (e.g., the decision to run the ball up the middle on the last 2 point attempt, when we haven’t been able to run the ball between the tackles all year, the option play with Oregon’s RBs was “too cute”), he doesn’t believe that this is all on the OC and is not sure someone else could do better with the offensive line playing this bad and the poor QB play. He claims that there were receivers open and Dylan did not see them. • The loud but few people who are calling for Coach Lanning’s head are crazy. With the exception of a few programs (e.g., Georgia, Indiana, Miami), most programs would fire their head coach to hire Lanning in a heart beat. A University of Texas fan posted on his thread, please fire Coach Lanning so they can replace Sark. LOL. • Oregon now needs to run the table and beat Ohio State at the Shoe. Thoughts?
  20. Happy, they were practicing two point conversions and trying to turn Jordan Davison into an option quarterback. Thanks (sincerely) for your hypothesis.
  21. Brock Thomas earned the start. If Dylan was injured, he should have pulled himself. Brock #1, Akili #2, GO DUCKS!
  22. IMHO, the lackluster play by the entire Duck Offense carries the blame, not just DR. What did the offensive coaches do dur9ng the bye week? The Duck D came ready to play. Why didnt the Duck offense?
  23. This Duck fan is not ready to throw away or give up on DR. One bad game is not enough for me to make that harsh of a decision. As painful as it was to rewatch the game, it was obvious that the entire offense played poorly. The O line was standing up when the ball was snapped. If it was going to be a pass play they immediately lost their leverage. The Bruin D line was 2 yards deep into the protection pocket on their initial rush. DR or any QB needs time to step into their throws. The receivers had little time to get separation. I feel uncomfortable laying all the blame on just DR. I ask mys3lf, why did Thomas have a better pocket to thow out of than DR? Also, DR or any QB has nothing to do with the lack of rushing production. Who's responsible to create running lanes? The O line is! This game was a poor performance by the entire offensive unit, not just DR. Their was no balance between rushing and passing to keep the Bruin D off balance. I wonder what the coaches were seeing in practice? I ask myself how could a unit be so lackluster and unprepared? Coming out of a bye week...... The Duck Defense came prepared and played a great game. What happened? Something is not right with the 2026 squad and I hope DL and staff can figure it out. Go Ducks......
  24. Maybe as a stopgap for the rest of the season, and if they're available and interested, bring in Jeff Tedford and Steve Greatwood as offensive analysts.
  25. Kiffin might be available pretty soon.
