What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
I'm hoping Gaitlin is on a mission after a mission and that opposing DBs will have to assume the position. 😁

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
I think 48-8, with a trend of only losing to Champs is pretty elite in its own right. Just a matter of time now. I think Hampton will have some control, its got to align with Lannings vision, for sure. Hampton is a big reason Oregon has the juice to win the whole thing this year. Been with Lanning from the start. 7 returning starters, 8 if you include Koi. 2 deep playing above the line winning football. We will see, but that has been the narrative.

BSU Team Arrival Delayed on Friday
Apparently, the flight left Boise about 2:23 MT and was scheduled to arrive in Eugene approx 2:30 PT. The flight did not land. There was rain in Eugene at that time and the Sun Country charter flight pilots circled Eugene waiting for a weather break. After a period of time, they decided to divert to Portland. The flight landed in Portland, but rather than attempt to fly back to Eugene a decision was made to bus to Eugene on Friday evening. But, the contracted buses were in Eugene. So, the team waited in Portland for the buses to arrive. Last estimate I read would put the team in Eugene sometime around 9:00 pm or a bit thereafter. All my notes are based on a BSU beat writer's Twitter/X account.

WSJ - More Lane Kiffin.............
I do not understand the reasoning that caused LSU (Kiffen) to decide to face the scorn of the entire football community for a few players that really do not seem as if they move the needle all that much.

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
Quick passes if O Line is not there yet. Killed us against Indiana...2x D scheme that creates more pressure and sacks. Georgia D in 2021 that bent not broke scheme had 700 1st round picks on it...we may have our share now, but bringing that scheme with him can DL be elite again (Kirby's scheme?) or can he let Hampton adjust a bit?

Oregon vs. Boise State....Give Us YOUR Prediction!
Before predicting, I waited to see if Kellon Moore and Ashton Jeanty were back for a 5th season and if Chris Petterson was still doing TV and not on the Boise State sideline. 34-17 - One-score game heading into the 4th quarter. 1 TO caused 1 sack (7 hurries) 250 passing yards Boise State is an Oregon nemesis, a top G6 program, and the Broncos come into this nationally televised game geeked beyond belief.

Could not agree more! And I’m also excited to see special teams—both offense and defense—because it should give us a proxy for how deep the bench is and how disciplined the team is.

Oregon vs. Boise State....Give Us YOUR Prediction!
Ducks 45-17 2 - Turnovers 4 - Sacks 331 Passing Yards Also, I’ve got to say to all my Duck friends that I sincerely believe that this will be a special season for you guys. I’m very excited about y’all’s team! The Ducks have arguably the most talented team in the nation. I think the Ducks defense will shine this season and will reflect what I know about Dan Lanning. With the talent and brains behind this defensive unit I expect and hope for domination! I can say similar things about the offense. It will be one of the best offenses in the Nation, wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the most explosive offense this season. I just needed to tell you folks how I’m feeling about the Ducks this season and didn’t know where else to say it. I’m expecting big things and I’ll be cheering and pulling for the Ducks! This season just feels a little different, feels like it’s time. GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
I'm excited about Evan Stewart(Last year's injury was such a disappointment), and really looking forward to seeing how Poncho and the boys hold down the Fort.

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
The only questions I have is about the O line and its depth and the FG kicker(s). It will be great to see Evan Stewart back. Also Im looking for a complete stomping of the Bronco's!

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
How Dante responds with pressure. Has the game slowed for him? How well does he see the D and his checks. Basically all mental. How has he grown with a year of starting and another off season.

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
Positions I'm watching like a hawk: RT and Nickel. Coaching- looking for aggressive play calling of intermediate and deep passes by the OC and stunts and pressures (of the unsimulated variety) by the DC. Definitely looking for OL effectiveness creating running lanes for RBs and pass protection for Dante. Everything else should go swimmingly, well except possibly special teams as you mentioned. That is our biggest lack of returning production. If our kicker can't make kicks, if our punts only go 30 yards and our returners fumble, then this whole special season is going to be messed up by special teams. I will be interested in seeing the backups and freshmen to get an idea of who is already playing above the line football.

Ten Power4 Opponents?
If this is what makes it work....to bend to something minor that the SEC wants....fine.

Mike...you checked all the boxes I had, although I would also love to see Freshman RB Brandon Smith play and show us what we have been hearing about! Well, him and another freshman in Gatlin Bair! Yeah, BABY!

Ten Power4 Opponents?
On3 had notes from Ross Dellenger and Andy Staples on the topic of ten Power 4 opponents yesterday. Dellenger reported that Commissioner Sankey said he wouldn't consider a 24-team playoff without ten Power4 opponents. Commissioner Pettiti told Andy Staples he would support if if it got Sankey to back a 24-team Playoff. In the 2026 season, the SEC now has 9 conference games per program, and also each of the 16 teams have a 10th opponent who is from the ACC, Big12 or Big Ten. The Big Ten's 18 programs have 5 this season without a Power4 tenth opponent: Indiana, Penn St, Nebraska, USC and Washington. Oregon has a tenth opponent via their trip to Oklahoma State. But, currently, the schedule in 2027, 2028, 2029 does not include a 10th Power4 opponent. Schedules beyond 2029 aren't fully built.

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
I want to get a read on how physical our defense will play this year, and whether the O line gives DM an opportunity to throw downfield from the pocket. Then, find out early who is QB2.

What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
On Offense: -I'm excited to see Evan Stewart back healthy along with a healthy DAK. Injuries have sunk our last two playoff runs and entire defenses should have to game plan around one of these guys, but both along with McClellan? This could be Oregon's best group of receivers top to bottom ever! -OLine cohesiveness. I don't expect perfection against a talented Bronco team, but I don't want to see a repeat of 2 years ago. On Defense: -Inside Linebacker Instincts. Our ILB strengths have been speed and pass coverage. We will have a new defensive "QB's" this year. Our defensive line should occupy everyone up front to keep the ILB's clean. How well can they "sniff out" plays? Do they have the natural instincts to carry us deep into the playoffs? -3rd down. Can we get off the field? Madsen is a veteran QB, so this will be a solid Game 1 test for our defense. -Safeties. I think we're all looking forward to the debut of Koi Perich, but how about Carl Williams IV coming over from Baylor along with 5-star phenoms Trey McNutt (injured last year) and Jett Washington? Will they make immediate impacts this year? Special Teams: -Making field goals. Please let us have a solid kicker this year!! -Punt Returner 1. Who gets the gig? I hold my breath on every punt catch. This player has the most trusted hands on the team.
