Which is More Startling to You....?
The defense is Chris Hampton on display. As bad as the OC promotion was. The DC promotion was good.

Is Something Missing from This Team?
The O line is the second biggest issue for the offense. However , with a better OC there would be adjustments that would compensate. There was clearly a miscalculation on how the offensive line would perform. But remember it is also missing a starter. One thing it is not is want to and fire. When your offensive line is unable to create holes it's almost impossible to run the ball. And Nebraska was getting pressure at times with three rushers. Missing four of 11 starters on offense will affect any team. Look at the trouble Notre Dame had getting pressure with their top defensive player out. Imagine if they had four starters missing on defense.

Marsh Duck Monday - Some Uncomfortable Decisions are Coming at Season's End
Chris Hampton was defensive coordinator at Tulane when they beat USC in a bowl game. He clearly had much less talent than he has now. How much of HIS defensive strategy is or will be used is something none of us know. However, I do believe he is supremely qualified to do the job. As for NIL making players less motivated. Hmmmmm not so sure. If their motivation was purely money the entire defensive line would have gone to the NFL. NIL money is nice but it is not NFL money.

NIL Legislation by Tommy Tuberville
This convesation is interesting. First the idea of players leaving a school for another to get paid an extra $50,000 makes sense to me. I mean how many of us wouldn't go work for another company in the same industry for an extra $4,000 per month? The real issue seems to be that the NCAA has done such a poor job of leading. So some in Congress are trying to make college football make sense. There clearly needs to be logic rules, like Tubberville has proposed. However, Congress does not seem to me to be the right organization. Yet, nobody else seems to want to be the adult in the room. 🤔

Dillon Thieneman: Full Scouting Report Video!
Well done. Very interesting. Explains why I heard he needs to improve tackling. It's not what it happens when he get there. Its what happens before. Overpersuing. When a strength high speed pursuit, becomes a weakness.

Duck Players in the Portal Now at 15, and Coach's Comment
Total is now 25. However, only one player, Blake Purchase was part of the the two deep. So, not feeling badly. Just making room for folks who want to do what it takes to make it on the the two deep. Playing time now. Or play for a perennial playoff contender in your last year or two. Guess for these guys it's playing time now. Sadly many will not even find another team. So will end up with no playing time. 🤷🏾♂️

Good Duck, Bad Duck in the First Round of the CFP
Come on folks. We need to understand Dan is not about making statements or style points. He is about development. Half way through the third quarter I was pretty sure the entire offensive line was second string. At least for a few drives As for the defense. We rotate 2nd string in consistently through the beginning of games. So what we saw was third and fourth string defense. With a few first and seconds sprinkled in. And we know on defense all it takes is one player being in the wrong spot. This was a chance to get playing time against a good team for some who NEVER play. Something we probably won't happen for the rest of the playoffs for these guys. We will see what the snap count looks like. But the first half was first on first. We saw the result. After the first drives for the second half, very different situation. Go Ducks

Our Beloved Ducks: Not Quite Ready for 'Natty Time?
That's true however they also had 275 passing yards and 17 first downs. Against us 4 of their 8 first downs were on their one scoring drive. So that leaves 4 first downs the entire rest of the game.

Oregon State had 147 yards of total offense. 67 rushing yards. And folks are saying we had poor run defense and need to play better. Hmmmmmm

Ready for More College Football Chaos?
And now much like the NBA went through. The rookies, I mean freshman, are getting ridiculous contracts without showing that can play at the new level. As this unfolds. There will need to be limits set in place as what a freshman can be given.

Ouch, We're Last in Academic Progress for Football
Yeah from what I can tell you are penalized for having more students transfer out than transfer in. My guess is this will have to be adjusted at some point to actually understand how the student athletes are doing academically.

The Kid Thinks he is in the Pros . . . My Bad, They All Are...
Like many players have said.NIL money is NOT NFL money. The money is nice, but not the ultimate goal . Oregon probably wasn't the highest bidder for Bo Nix. He went from "overrated". To number 12 pick and leading his team as a rookie to the playoffs. I am sure UW was not the highest bidder for Penix. He went from not sure aoubt his durability to number 7 pick backing up a veteran. To now it's his team That's what development does. And with how Dan and company recruit I don't see a holdout for more money happening in Eugene. And by how I mean character and work ethic fit.

Lanning Pursues National Title In Shadow of Alabama and Georgia Expectations
Donovan Jackson is not a linebacker. Height and weight: Height 6′ 4″, Weight 320 lbs Current team: Ohio State Buckeyes football (#74 / Offensive lineman) And the Ducks have LB Jeffrey Bassa and CB Jabar Mohamed. Expected to be drafted along with our two starting DLs and edge rusher Jordan Burch.

Lanning Pursues National Title In Shadow of Alabama and Georgia Expectations
There might be something to this D line determines everything mentality. Was Ohio State great at all three levels? Nope. I would be surprised if anyone can name their linebackers. But their D line was relentless. Particularly their edge players. They are the reason we scored one touchdown n the first half. And 21 points for the game.
