  1. Scott, your reports are extremely well written, and very informative. They are truly overlooked and highly under appreciated by the public. We should just read yours; none others are even close. Thanks for sharing them!
  2. So many volunteered that I no longer need the calling team any larger....so THANK YOU for the help! As you know, the forum traffic is much slower because the vast majority are here during football season, and haven't found us yet. Many others have no way or understanding of how to find us, so I need a number of volunteers to... Make ten phone calls a day for ten days....that is it. If you chat with people, that is fine, but you can simply leave a voicemail message about the forum moving to a new web address, and I will provide a script to read off of, and the list for each of you. Each day will not take long, and if you want to do it in half the time or less--go for it! Can you help me out? There are a LOT of phone calls to make, and I can't make them all. We need to let people know, and the group email sent out twice did not work well. By letting these OBD forum members know where we are--you help yourself, and everyone here have a more enjoyable Oregon football season coming up. Can YOU help? Email me charlesfobd@gmail.com and PLEASE consider donating time for what could be not long for ten days. I do guarantee one thing; if you chat with people, you will make new friends who are wonderful Duck fans and people. Fun conversations, as I love this community. Help me Bring Them Back....
  3. You know me....if I can find some tasty tidbits out there--I lap them up and share what I can. This is not public information, and should probably be classified as "rumors," but I'll take it as any scrap of OBD entertainment with 2.5 weeks to wait. I cannot share all of it, but here are a few... Offensive Line: The position group most of us are watching closely, and apparently they are nowhere close to determining a depth chart beyond Poncho. They are moving players around to see who fits best, and looking for the chemistry of working well together. The word is that David luli has has sparse number of snaps, and thus other players have had a good shot. In Saturday's scrimmage--Douglas Utu, a sophomore guard from Las Vegas stood out, as did sophomore tackle Ziyare Addison...which is a surprise to me. I saw him get chewed up by our defensive line in the past, but that goes to show that freshmen get good coaching and improve! The rumor is that there may be starters that we do not expect due to an emphasis on chemistry over pure talent to start the season on the O-Line. Tight End: The surprising emerging player is not the transfer Marcus Dixon, or the 5-Star transfer from Penn State, Andrew Olesh. It is the true freshman, the 5-Star tight end and basketball player from North Carolina, Kendre' Harrison, who is 6'7" and 250 pounds. For some..."Greatness and Weakness Emerge Early." Running Back: Another surprise even bigger to me is what most would think is the 5th string running back from Fresno, true freshman Brandon Smith. Rumor is--he had a really good day, and has more speed and jukes that anticipated. In high school, he ran a 10.67 100 meter, and also played defense with 88 tackles last year...and FOUR interceptions. Sounds like quite an athlete at 6'0 and 190 pounds... Wide Receiver: The BIGGEST surprise of the scrimmage is a player you have watched me promote endlessly here....and about his physical tools and upside. Word is that Gatlin Bair had the MOST catches in the scrimmage, was thrown to often, and shouts high immediate upside and playing time. He is 6'3" and 205 pounds, runs a 10.15 100 meters, and jumps so high that the top of his head lines up with the basketball rim. He SHOUTS TOUCHDOWNS! And you know me...I maintain that all of us are 50/50 on our predictions, but when I am right...."you will never hear the end of it!"
  4. Marsh-Monday! I am with Jon on this one, as I think the 24 team playoff could have SO MANY fans of so-many schools that now have shot at the playoffs that didn’t before. It will create so many intense close games, as I disagree with your “lousy games” assertion because NIL and the portal have balanced things out for a ton of teams. Sure, some teams will have more talent, but they have to PLAY superior on game day. That why I worry about games like Michigan after playing Ohio State, and playing a good team like Illinois on their home field. You could make a case that NIL and the portal have changed things for USC, and with 24 teams getting in… more motivation for more teams. The lineup of games to watch this fall with great coaches in the Big-10 is NEVER like before. Are we READY?!!
  5. As I wrote before....No. 2 is perfect for Oregon; given respect, but still an underdog....with two Big-10 teams leading the nation. This ranking is going to make the season memorable...whew!
  6. Brett McMurphy of On3 put out his Preseason Top-25 and he listed the No. 1 team in the nation as.... 1. OregonSince 2023, Oregon is 38-0 against teams that did not reach the national title game. Unfortunately, they’re 0-5 against title game participants, losing to 2023 runner-up Washington (twice), 2024 champ Ohio State and 2025 Indiana (twice). Those 38 wins are the nation’s most in the past three years.... When Lanning loses a rare game...it is not to chumps. Bear Alexander blocks a third down pass!
  7. At the bottom and the top of the site are page numbers; you welcome to go back and find, and then scroll through the two weeks after each game and see what was written by OBD members, and you will find links provided to those analysis articles also in the two weeks after the games.
  8. Dan L, you are a great poster and member of this forum, so I do not want to give you the wrong impression. I cannot go into those games again…not anything related to you and your honest question, but due to MY issues and where my head is at this time. Those have been analyzed and discussed here extensively, and this is a different team in 2026—one that has the highest potential on both sides of the ball. I don’t want to go through the past negative again; I want to focus on the excitement of this team and the upcoming games. Perhaps others here can offer their perspectives…
  9. This is a "maturing-early" kind of player, as he looks like he could compete at Oregon right now, instead of his senior year of high school.
  10. Brayton Feister is a Rivals 4-Star, and visited Oregon three times, while he visited Penn State and Notre Dame twice, and USC, Michigan, Cal and Georgia once. This puts Oregon at No. 4 in the nation on the Rivals national ranking, just above Ohio State. We have 17 Blue-Chips verballed, which is pretty darn good. When we add a few portal transfers later--it will be another leading class!
  11. It looks like a ton of B1G teams will have respectable records this year, and again--the disparity in scheduling is so puzzling. Great stuff Jon!
  12. So many breakout candidates...because your points about Illinois are absolutely true, and certainly they, Penn State, Iowa, and USC are all flirting with 10 win seasons. The 'Cig already stunned everyone....he won't do it again...will he? The coaching in the Big-10 is brutal...
  13. Michigan is a real tough one to me--fantastic coach with more talent to work with? If the young QB catches fire....they could be quite a surprise.
  14. Marsh-Mondays....LOVE IT! David, I agree with your thoughts about Matayo, because a step up by him impacts the defense HUGE. As for Trey McNutt? He will not challenge Iffy at corner IMHO, because McNutt is a safety. At the top of the forum--click on "Depth Chart" and see what I mean... Not IFFY on this play!
