Sabb represents the third Top 100 recruit for Oregon in a three-day stretch. The three commitments have lifted the Ducks to the nation's No. 2 recruiting class in the country for the 2027 cycle, according to 247Sports.

“Mainly what drove my decision is the relationship I’ve developed with Coach Lanning,” Sabb said. “He’s been recruiting me since I was in the eighth grade. He has always been welcoming to me and my family. “The program is focused on the pursuit of a National Championship and I would like to be a part of that. I have also built a great relationship with Coach Ross (Douglas), and I trust in his vision for me as an Oregon Duck.” Other programs that offered Sabb included Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State. “My favorite thing about Oregon is the culture and family atmosphere,” Sabb said. “I like how supportive the team is of each other, I feel it’s going to be a good fit for me on and off the field.” Sabb is the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of New Jersey. As a junior he caught 59 passes for 897 yards and 13 touchdowns. He added two more rushing scores and returned a kick and punt for a touchdown en route to a state championship. Sabb picked off four passes playing defense.

What is critical above is about the On3 writer, not our beloved Jon Joseph. We cannot criticize OBD members personally, (we can certainly disagree with their views) or personally criticize current players or coaches, (but we can criticize player performance and coaching decisions) but we can be critical of writers on other sites.

Good gosh the number of interesting football games to watch this fall are through the roof! What a season coming up....

We are seeing Cal come up often as competition, as Tosh Lupoi IS a great recruiter.... Hayden Stepp was not only offered by Oregon, but also by Alabama, Cal, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Miami, LSU, Michigan, Florida State and Washington. (Ha!)

As you may recall, for the 2023 and 2024 seasons....Our Beloved Ducks finished an impressive No. 12 in the nation in the D1Baseball rankings that I consistently rely upon. Last year in 2025 we were in that spot, but dropped to No. 20 when we lost our NCAA Regional. This is how the final D1Baseball ranking finished for 2026: No. 11 UCLA No. 13 OREGON No. 15 USC No. 22 Beavis I am not complaining at all; considering our paltry NIL budget--we outperformed, and I was able to see some great winning baseball this year. We took some big hits in the portal, and lost hitting coach Jack Marder to Texas, but we have some big transfers and freshmen coming in. More Great Baseball Coming!

The word on one of the subscription boards is that Lin Wei is coming back to Oregon after all for next season. Perhaps he did not want to start over in a new system next year? But I'm sure the Ducks got him cheap....

I agree with Jon on the above! If there was EVER a year for the balance of the offense to be tilted towards the passing game....this is IT. If Oregon does not have their best passing year--then it will be one of their best passing years ever. I get the sense the Mehringer wants to showcase his "NFL Offense" as he referred to in interviews, and the NFL is a passing league. We are SO loaded at WR, and add an experienced QB, and it SHOUTS an exciting year in the passing game. In many respects--Bair does not have to learn a ton of the playbook because he is already named one of the fastest players in CFB so we can send him long often. Remember he can jump so high that the top of his head is EVEN with a basketball basket rim, and he is 6'3" and built like an outside linebacker--so he can fight off the DBs. If there was anyone who looks the part to throw long to....or use as a decoy to stretch the defense....this is the guy. It would open up SO MUCH for the other receivers! Fun topic David! Gatlin Bair
