  1. I disagree, he can address his team and put them at ease. He took a job at Oregon then turned around and led UGA to a national championship. He did just fine keeping his Dawgs D focused. This will be done long before the early signing period. Recruiting won't be affected unless he took the aTm job. If I am Dan, I use this as an opportunity to secure generational wealth for my family. His first obligation is to his family. And thats exactly what he should do
  2. I think this rumor has given Duck fans a little ptsd flare up. Understandable after WT and MC debacle. This is going to get boring pretty quick imo.
  3. I am sure it was a thing all game. Refs ignored it. Either way, tou can't let it or the officials beat you and Ducks didn't.
  4. You could see the switch flipped after the Fusky game. I think Lanning second guesses himself now and this waters the seed of insecurity and doubt. Lanning got hammered on after the UW loss. I believe it has affected his coaching. The coaching decisions of that game are still being talked about. This is a game measured by very thin margins. An 8-4 team might not be that far separated from 11-1. The slightes decisions can make all the difference.
  5. IMO and if it were me. I wouldn't say one way or the other. Why would I shut down conversation that only raises my brand? Who knows, might be able to get another pay bump or other wants meet. So yea, I would leave it alone and let the chatter be what it will be.
  6. Beaves have spent the past decade being a crappy program. Respect is earned not just granted because your better than average for a season, imo. Ducks don't get much respect either. Untill they win a NC, this will continue. Untill then, Ducks will always be that cute team in Eugene with the uni's. All while the UGA, Bama, tOSUs of the world win titles. Don't believe me? Look at the pre-season ranking of USC and ND every year. Thats respect, misguided or not
  7. Caleb got a lot of help on a phantom PI and a phantom hold. Ducks O line gave up 2 tfl and no sacks. But the penalties were ridiculous and need to be fixed. 10 games have been played and they haven't been so probably won't be. Lack of discipline will probably be what keeps the Ducks out of a shot at the crown.
  8. Is Lannings heart in the SEC? He says all the right things but that means nothing when it comes to College HCs. Ducks aren't Bama, UGA, tOSU or the few other traditional BlueBlood progr'ms. UofO can sweeten the job but tradition is attractive. So untill Ducks put some titles on the books, they are susceptible to getting their coach poached. Just the way it is in my opinion..
  9. Thought they just said fox business
  10. I got up at 3am, I am fading already. I hope the Duck end it Q1 so I can go to bed
  11. How much longer till 7:30... sheesh
  12. UGA looks good. Playing some great football in this first half v. Ole' Miss.
  13. Dawgs D just ground them into the dirt though. 3 and out.
  14. This Mariø offense is hard to watch. I am yelling at him to do something and I can't stand the guy. Going back to the Fusky game
  15. Blasphemer! 🤪 No way in H-E-Double hockey sticks does Fusky beat UGA, Bama, tOSU, Mich or Oregon in the Conf title. Ducks are twice as good as they were with the "Muff in Mont Lake". Fusky is worse.
  16. Miami even with FSU at the Half. Go Canes
  17. UCF is putting the wood to Okie right now
  18. Pi called on Utes with the ball thrown 15 yards out of bounds
  19. Looks like Texas Tech is taking it to Kansas. Up 10-0. That could be good for the Ducks
  20. What area of vulnerability is that? I think USC has an elite offense and we will see what their D brings. They really have nothing to lose and that makes this game much more interesting. But Oregon really has no defensive weakness. The most vulnerable is the passing D. Ducks have went up against some good passing teams and they rank inside the top 30 nationally. Thats not really a weakness. USC needs to keep Oregon and Nix off the field. That will require long sustained drives ending in TDs. I think USC loses if they fail to do that. I think USC has to run, run and run some more. But that isn't Riley style with arguably one of the best college QBs in the country. Ducks are 13th or so in run D so I like Oregons chances at stopping Loyd and Caleb from gashing the Ducks. If Caleb runs the ball? Bad medicine. Just ask Penix and that dude from last week, forgot the guys name. Oregon knocks dudes out. Just a few of my thoughts and opinions.
  21. USC has three former 5* and a bunch of former 4* on that team. Grinch is gone but it's not like they aren't Dudes.
  22. (If) Ducks win 58-42 3 4 362 Really not sure about this game. USC offense is elite. USC defense just needs a couple stops or a takeaway. A simplified D that can rally behind a new face might be fatal. Doubt Ducks win a close one like Husky did. If Ducks win it will be by more than 2 TDs as vegas says.
  23. I had the same experience when I was 8th grade. A senior in HS punched me in the face at the Plaid Pantry. I rode my bike home and told my dad.. he made me call the guy to come fight in our front yard. My dad and the next door guy cracked a beer and pulled up lawn chairs. I won't tell you who won that fight but nobody messed with me after that and his buddies were making fun of him as he got sent back down the street.
  24. I would like to see JPJ pull on this play. He picked up a blocker quite a ways down field and out of the play. JPJ has great quicks and footwork. More than capable of executing that pull. Marcus Harper II at left gaurd looked like he didn't have an assignment and could easily make that block into 2nd/3rd level that JPJ made. JPJ, Harper and Jones where under utilized on this play imo. I think all 3 of these interior guys have the skill set to punch a hole on the outside edge. Using JPJ reduces pre-snap penaties by the guards getting to jumpy in anticipation of the assignment. But I am not a coach so it's just an opinion/observation of a fan in his recliner eating nachos and sippin suds
  25. Lanning has set the standard. He is almost 2 years into implementing the standard. I can't fully explain what the standard is but I think most of us know what it looks like. Part of that standard probably has Lanning removed from the day to day disciplinary/accountability functions. I think the progr'm is moved far enough down the line that that has become a player to player function. Much more effective imo.
