  1. DeBoer hasn't recruited at a high level on Mont Lake. The writing is on the wall imo. Going into the B1G, Fusky looks like they will struggle mightily to stay competitive. It would be wise for DeBoer to fly south. Recruiting hotbed, huge money and top notch facilities. Husky is a stepping stone in the college football coaching ranks.
  2. If TVD enters the portal I would fully expect Lanning to take a run at him. Send Bo out to Miami and see what kind of recruiting chops Bo has. It wouldn't surprise me if Bo proves elite as a recruiter as well. TVD is a long shot. But sending Lanning, Stein and Nix would be pretty awsome to see. I think Van Dyke only has one year left of elegability. I don't know if thats a no go for Lanning. Ty Thompson would definitely, imo, transfer out at that point. That would leave TVD and a couple redshirt freshman. But TVD can play. Get him in this offense and he could be elite. Would love to see Ducks land a big talent like this but I also think TT could be a big talent like this. I think bringing in a QB transfer is super rusky under the circumstances. But I also think you have to take a talent like TVD if given the opportunity.
  3. Those are great points. Ty Thompson is a rs Soph. His development, imo, has been delayed due to the Mariø effect. I look at the seeming regression of TVD at Miami as further proof. Ty has looked night and day better since Dilly, Stein and Bo showed up. The last off season seems to have been good to Ty in development. He has another full off season of development before his services will be called on. Thompson is big and strong. He can make all the throws and has high level abilities to escape and run. The rest is in his head and that seems to be working itself out. So to me, all Ty needs is playing time and experience running the ones. Junior year starter and I think he can win 9 or 10 games. Senior year could be a year Ty plays at an elite level and get himself into 1st/2nd round draft pick.
  4. Imo, what makes Nix Heisman worthy in his immeasurables. His ability to sieze complete control of the game because of football and QB IQ. Nix could very well be the most intelligent college QB in history. Nix's measurable stats are impressive. He doesn't throw the ball or use his legs as much as others. But he is deadly when he does. His long ball isn't the greatest, he doesn't have the strongest arm, but he seems to make those plays at an elite level when you look at results. Having Tez and Troy is helpful. Nix isn't as much of a run threat as he was in the past. Obviously this is by design. His run game isn't really needed. I like the way Bo's running is used early, one or two plays, as a reminder to the D that he can hurt them with his legs. Jayden Daniels will probably win the trophy. I don't think I can argue with it if he does. Dudes a dog. His passing and rushing numbers are crazy. LSU isn't an elite team though, they are playing for pride at this point. Ducks are in position to play for the crown. It would be cool if Nix won it, he is deserving. But Nix plays the game with a bigger purpose. He wants a championship. That requires him to not play Superman. Bo just needs to stay in his lane and do his part at an elite level. Be the leader for sure but also just be a player amongst players and the Ducks should have a good shot at their goals. Edit: Has anyone else noticed Bo's arm seems to have gotten stronger this year? His accuracy and arm strength seems to be more on target with the long ball.
  5. Pretty good tool for players in TP. Don't know how accurate it is. 2024 College Football Transfer Portal WWW.ON3.COM The latest 2024 college football players that have entered the transfer portal.
  6. I am looking forward to the day I can console my Fusky brother. As he slips into the abyss of Fansville depression i can lift his spirits with the fact that the only loss Fusky took was to the National Champs in the conference title game. That should cheer him up.
  7. I missed that. I didn't know that Lanning has shown he is looking outside for Bo's replacement. Thats an important piece of the puzzle. Could you point me to the article Lanning communicated he was looking at TP for next years QB? I would appreciate that, clearly I missed that piece of the story.
  8. Not sugesting that at all. What I am suggesting is that many times I, as a fan, am wrong. I can't always see with clarity, due to lack of all the information, what is actually going to transpire. When I make statements as absolutes, or think I know the best rout or decision, quite often I get a huge slice of humble pie. Many fans did that with Bo and they are doing that now with Ty Thompson. But it is what we do as fans. It's part of the fun. It is exactly why this forum exists. And at times, we all get a slice of pie. Lanning and his staff seem to have a good eye for talent and seeing around corners of what could be. They were successful with the Nix judgment and I think they are seeing it with Thompson. I think I am right about Thompson but it's just my take on what I have seen since Lanning took the Oregon job. That's all. Just one mans opinion.
  9. This is a great point. At the time, we as fans didn't know much about Lanning or Dilly. Many fans didn't want to go on blind faith regarding Nix. Not knowing the coaching staff well enough, many voiced their concerns base on body of work Nix put up at AU. Over the course of last season, Nix proved his value. Lanning and Dilly did the same. Now Duck fans show complete trust in Nix and this coaching staff. Wouldn't you agree? That brings us to transfer portal and the QB room. Like most fan, I have complete trust in Lanning and his abilities to field an elite football team, including QB. Over last off season Lanning had the tough question about the QB room. He knew Nix was coming back. He also knew Nix health was crucial to success as Nix was coming off of surgery in 2021 and an ankle injury in 22'. Hockey is not in Nix's future for sure. Lanning didn't go to the portal to fortify the QB room with a viable backup to Nix. If Lanning didn't have belief in his backups, I believe he would have, it would have been irresponsible for him not too. If an opportunity like Caleb knocks on the door you have to take him. A dude like that is elite and it would be foolish in my opinion to say no thanks I have made it a point to back the idea of Ty being the guy next year. His growth since Lanning, Dilly and Stein showed up is glarring. He still has a full off season, spring and fall camps to develope. I trust Lanning knows what he has in the QB room and if he goes to the portal then that will tell us a lot. But I think Lanning is going to go with Thompson or one of the freshman next year. 25' brings in Akili Smith Jr and we will see what he has to offer. I think the Ducks are stacked with QB talent, the only thing missing is meaningful opportunities and meaningful development by his staff.
  10. The arguments of approximately 89% of Duck fans were against Bo Nix playing for Oregon. It's funny because 100% of those fans are singing Bo's praises and have shifted the very same talking points they used in opposition to Bo over to Ty Thompson. No need for Caleb to be a Duck. Ty Thompson is going to ball out next year and silence his critics. Just like Bo Nix did
  11. Tribute to Spence. That video was amazing. Beavs don't know whats about to hit them. But they will. Love these uni's. The Spencer Webb tribute is a huge statement and very well done. Having Herbert unveil this honoring of Webb is also a huge statement. Go Ducks.
  12. This is what makes UGA so potent. It's why Bama is successful year after year. Lanning did a stint at both. This Duck team is built to beat the UGA and tOSU of college football. As long as Lanning is a Duck, I think we will see well built and prepaired teams more years than not. Ducks are one of the top 4 teams in the country. The cfp knows it. Just win! 2nd year HC Lanning has B2B 10+ win seasons. Finish the season 14-1
  13. tOSU wins stays at #2. Ducks pound Husky. Ducks at #3. #1 UGA v. Texas at 4. Would love to see the Ducks avenge 14' NCG. Then get another shot at the Dawgs. Gotta go through Bulldogs to grab the crown.
  14. So win out, shortly followed by a hope and a prayer. Got it!
  15. Yea, I could be wrong but pretty sure I heard that somewhere recently, like last couple days.
  16. Pretty sure rankings are froze when you beat them. Committee uses ranking at the tiime you beat opponents
  17. Zano, imo, has never been an serious journalist. He has always ventured into emotions and stirring it up to get his clicks. I do credit him, it works for him and he has made a pretty good living off of it. But it's only value is for enyertainment. I don't really take him seriously. I come to OBDF for entertainment and to be educated on the Ducks and football in general. A lot of smart fans here. I use a ton of emotion when I comment on this forum. I try to be honest but sometimes I am ill-informed. I lack some of the intellectual capitol many on here possess. Like anyone else, I want to be relevant so it works for me. But I don't think Zano is honest when he spins his tales. Thats why I don't pay attention to him. He is irrelevant to me because I view him as dishonest. Beavs have only themselves to blame. They have had a few decades to get it right, they have chosen not to. Heck, even PK has tried to help. Now they want the rest of the pac to subsidize their miserable athletic department. The ship has sailed, all stowaways will walk the plank. Sorry Beavus but like I often say "My life is nobody elses fault". Got news for you, neither is yours. So quit blaming others, find your part, fix it and join the rest of us after you get that done. Until then, pound sand.
  18. The destruction of the Pac-12 and the theft of $400m stands alone. It has nothing to do with logging and the men who risk their lives every day to do it for the greater good of society. An industry that provides thousands of living wage jobs. An industry that generates billions for the communities across this country we all call home. And an industry that shows tremendous restraint and responsibility to our land. Truly the greenest industry on the planet with millions of trees planted every year. Not every man comes from a place where he is afforded a college education to increase his value to society and an ability to earn at a high level. Logging is one of those industries that provides exactly that for these men at a tremendous risk to life and limb. Not many options for the less privileged to earn a six figure income. Equating the two situations as equal is misguided in my opinion. I know a lot of folks have strong feelings about both subjects. And thats a good thing. People should be engaged in both subjects. For someone less privledged with a good childhood and strong family resulting in loss of opportunity, this is an industry that keeps them out of poverty and provides a strong future. You will be hard pressed to find any logger whining or playing a victim to their circumstance. Just a bunch of hard working dudes trying to do right in the world with the cards they were delt. If we are going to equate the two. Seems to me that it's the university types, the college boys that are doing the theft and destruction in this comparison.
  19. If I remember right it was second half, late in the game. Don't remember if Ducks were behind at that point or not. Nix scrambled to his right and threw it in the endzone in traffic on the boundry. Tech db caught it but he was ruled out of bounds. Call confirmed on replay but in my opinion should have been a pick and a possible Duck loss. It didn't count but I threw it in there to illustrate the poor decision by Nix. There are so few of them. Nix has been brilliant most of the season. That play and the 4th down to seal it v. Husky are the most agregious imo. Nix had Bryant(?) wide open but he locked on Franklin in double coverage. Incomplete and the rest is history.
  20. I have never won one of these😫. So in order to rub a little salve on the ol' brused ego, I am going with starters minutes only and the score of 42-0. With a prediction of 45-0... I WIN!!! 🥳👏🙌. Just kidding, congrats Just Ducky. Great victory to be celebrated for days to come (5 to be exact).
  21. I don't see how Johnathan Smith can stay in Corvallis. I doubt Beavs can afford him long term if they wiff on the next realignment. Should Beavs and cougs win in court and usurp a buttload of cash, they buy a few years grace to try and get into the B12. If they fail Beavus will never be relevant in major college football. Recruiting will drop and they will lose coaches. Mic will be buying first round at that point 😉
  22. To the victor... I mean the victim go the spoils. It's the American way.
  23. Both QB'S have a similar career trajectory. Almost identical. The difference to me is where they have their teams playing. Bo is in position to win a conference title and a CFP invite. Daniels is playing for a NY6 bowl appearance, thats probably unlikely. This is a difficult decision for the voters. Both QB'S are deserving in my book. Compleatly different styles of play this year for these two. Jayden Daniels has to play a more Supeman role than Nix. Something Nix had to do at AU but at Oregon this year he has been a surgeon. The rushing numbers favor Jayden but that is out of necessity. Nix is in complete control of the game when he is out on the field. How many times has Nix manipulated the Defense into giving him the look he wants with his ability to change plays at the LOS? Nix makes very few mistakes. He has one INT that he is solely responsible for. The one Robinson pic'd in the Colorado game. The one V. Cal was on Tez. The Tech one should have been a pic that would have been on Bo, really bad judgment on Bo's part with the game on the line. Jaden Daniels is having a great year. If he wins I will be disapointed but can't really complain about it. Both are having great years and are deserving imo.
  24. You mean like Bo did on 4th down in the Husky game? That loss hangs on Bo as much as anyone.
