I am not as clued in as I usually am this time of year, mainly due to all the conference realignment and media deal snoozer all off season. Ducks have added a ton of talent through the portal and recruiting. Mostly looking forward to D line and linebacker play. D should be drastically inproved. O line might or might not be elite like last year but they will be very very good. Going to be interesting to watch them gel. Returns Nix, nuff said, returns Irving and Whittington, nuff said. Huge upgrades at WR. Media is sleeping on the Ducks and the Pac is going to get smacked in the mouth for it Looking forward to battling it out with your Dawgs in the NC game. GO DUCKS!

Milk toast, Copy paste. Media echo chamber dribble. USC has won nothing in decades. Nothing will change for another decade. Oregon and Washington(🤮) are the teams to beat in the Pac. Ducks lost 2 games by a combined score of 7. Oregon lost those game, they weren't necessarily beaten. Ducks will be much better and it wont even be close. Not a little better, a lot better. The experts and their USC love fest is a bore. I hate the Huskies, but I hope they stomp USC into the turf in their own house.

So... 2 losses last year that should have been wins. A thorough butṭ kicking right out of the gate. A defense that my 76 yo mother could score on, probably break a hip in the process for sure. Ducks offense will be better than last year. Perhaps top 10 nationally. Line comes together quickly and look out. All other position groups will have marked improvement. Ducks Defense can't be any worse. Should be much improved with the team speed added. Defense has the talent to be top 30 imo. Up to the coach to get them there. Yep, 12-0 in conference and no worse than 13-1. Pac champs and a shot at 15-0. Some will think I am crazy. Perhaps I am. Tell me though, tell me the path isn't wide open. This is the most talented team top to bottom, Ducks have ever fielded. I don't buy the "but this team, but that team" arguments. Ducks handle themselves and stay healthy-ish, my prediction is exactly where Oregon finishes. Oh yea, need a couple lucky bounces Oregons way.

IMO, Cal could care less about football. Wicox is serviceable. Thats all the Brass cares about. I doubt any Pac coach gets fired next off season. For many reasons, mainly that there are a lot of talented coaches in the pac.

Mariø gets no credit 😁

Lanning is working on his 3rd recruiting class. Between these classes and the portal this is 100% DL's team. There are some left over from MC. But they weren't under MC long enough to be ruined by his narcissistic coaching style. BTW, to state Oregon could be a national contender under Mariø is embarrassing. Clearly On3 wasn't paying attention. Educated Duck fans saw clearly the Ducks were slippin. This is Lannings team and Mariø gets no credit in my mind. I made the point at the end of last season. It is not surprising Lanning fliped this team into "his" so quickly. That is what Lanning does. The last 20ish months have mirrored Lanning career. So its no surprise. GO DUCKS!!

I love it when others throw shade at OBD. It's a great honor.

We are lucky to have him in Green and Yellow. What a pleasure to root for this young man. Win or lose, this is our Quarterback. Nix will forever be a Duck even if he has a few tiger stripes

IMO, Irving and Whittington are the premier backs. They are proven and have earned their spots. Both will make NFL rosters. Limited touches obviously effects stat lines. It also keeps backs fresh through a long brutal season. A fresh back hypothetically, will put better averages in the books. DL coached at UGA. He is experienced in navigating such wonderful problems. If one of the underclassmen can pry snaps from Bucky and Noah, this problem just gets more wonderful. Ducks will play 15 games in 23' fresh legs are going to be at a premium. Go Ducks!

LB recruiting has been thin this cycle. Lanning has to have some urgency at the position. Mothudi and Williams would be a great addition to an already great class. If not, there is always the portal. Lanning seems to do very well with transfers. Especialy in ares of need.

I dont think any of the players mentioned are underrated. Not to fans of the team. I have high expectations for most on the list. TT is rated, in my mind anyway, about right. Meh. Hill moving to LB is going to be fun to watch. Hill has the speed to get to the edge and creat short yardage stops.

Having Burch at Jack gives Ducks some wiggle room. Main reason I don't think missing on Rushing is as big a loss as it would have been in past seasons. Portal is a stop gap for misses like this. Still, Lanning needs to close on these opportunities. Pretty sure Lanning sees is that way. 1 mil is foolish if true. Not sure how that convo went in the Boardroom. Should have waited to start drinking till after the meeting. Yikes!

If Rushings recruitment decision was based on the singularity of NIL, he might have other issues Oregon doesn't need in the locker room. I am more inclined to think Lanning missed something. It's not the end of the world, it definitely ain't over either. I hope I am right, maybe not. I hate to think that cash is the sole driver of some of these decisions. If so, I hope someone shows up in this young man's life and gets him on a better path. Home, play with kin and cash is legit. Chances are that those three elements had a great impact on his decision. I still want Lanning to find his part, no matter how small, and fix that. The smallest navigational adjustment can make a huge impact.

IDK, losing Rushing is a problem. Hometown school will always be a player for any recruit. Parents carry a lot of pull in that decision also. But what about Oregon landing all that Washington talent? Oregon has pulled guys from 9 different states. Ducks have cleared that hurdle 9 times in this class alone. Texans go to Okie and Okies go to Texas. Ducks have a ton of past and present players from SoCal. Georgia to Florida and vice-versa... So I do think Lanning whiffed on this one. It's also not over yet. Early commit often flip I would guess that Lanning is looking at himself, seeking out his part in why Rushing chose Az. Lanning is a student of people and relationships as much as he is a football coach. He will look within for what went wrong and the Ducks will be a better progr'm as a result.

Perhaps thats true. Don't know for sure. They do make shoes though. My point is the fact that often, regardless of where the cash comes from, folks can get slimey. College football as a whole has proven that with shady NIL, conference realignment and media contracts. It's only going to get worse. Some of us will be ok with it and others will walk away. Hopefully it gets turned around. We are talking about piles of cash though, so I won't hold my breath. Hope these kids can pry away as much cash out from the grip of these self proclaimed "VIP's" as possible.

Right, just need them to be cohesive as a unit. Thats the challenge Terry faces. What Oregon has done on both O line and D line is amazing. Add the skill players on offense and the upgrade on 2nd and 3rd level defensively. This could turn out to be a special year. Dare I say 14 wins? Flup it! 14-1 with a trip to NCG. That means wins in Seattle and Salt Lake. I will take a loss in Rice-Eccles if Ducks end year 14-1 Go Ducks!
