  1. Hawaii’s offensive attack will test Oregon’s secondary all day long DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Hawaii is going to pass the ball early and often. Oregon’s secondary is going to need to... Hawaii loves to throw the ball. Super aggressive in the pass game with 20-30% deep. I think this will be a great game to sharpen both defefensive backs and front 7. Both units will have plenty of opportunity to showcase their skills. Lanning and Lupoi will be able to run a ton of scheme and get the defense much needed reps as they deploy much more of the defensive playbook. This is better competition than PSU by far. They should also have some breathing room they didn't have v. TT. This should be a great "coach'em up" opportunity for Lanning and his staff.
  2. No doubt about it. A ton of people are buying in. Deon is a living legend, arguably the best corner in NFL history. Top that with time at wide receiver, kick and punt return and MLB. Dude was a phenomanal athlete. There is no denying his coaching and recruiting abilities. What he did at Jackson State is impressive. Chances are he will make Colorado a winner. Deon has been crowned. He is mentioned in darn near every article written about college football. I wouldn't even have mentioned him if it wasn't mentioned in this article. Can't wait until the Ducks silence this noise. After that it will be Usc, UCLA, OSU, WSU and Utahs turn. Time to hit the hit the washer fluid button and turn this radio off.
  3. Ducks should throttle Hawii. Ducks first game in Lubbock has people concerned. Good reason, I guess. The lack of focus is a concern. Dropped balls and penalties were in abundance to say the least. But it was Lubbock, or Palouse 2.0. The reputation of playing night games there is for good reason. Looking ahead to Colorado shouldn't be a problem. Even if Duck are looking ahead they should beat Hawii. I doubt they do though after the lack of focus in Tx. They will dial it back and be focused on whats in front of them. I get why people are falling all over Colorado. People love shiny new things. And Deon seems to be just that. They beat TCU, TCU played in the NC last year. Nevermind TCU lost most of their best players. They beat Nebraska. Lol... yea, I watched that game. Nebraska is a whole different level of bad football. Buffs had a tough time with Nebraska D untill the D quit trying in the second half. Can't blame Nebraska D, there really wasn't a point trying to get the ball back to the O. But... Buffs are the new media darling. Deon sells. I am not ready to buy in yet. Atleast not this year. I suspect Buffs are the shiny used car that looks great. But you get it off the curb and down the road, the transmission starts slipping and the windshield wiper controls change the radio station. Think I will kick the tires a bit longer before I but in.
  4. Rushing three and they had to hold. This bodes well v. Hawii. If it's true about Hawii, and they throw 50 a game with 25% being long, Ducks should get a few more Picks and 6-7 sacks.
  5. Let's see... held an air raid to under 300 passing. Got hurt a little on TS running. 3 picks, one for six to ice it. 4 sacks, 5 if Mateo sack isnt negated by holding on TT. Beat an air raid team on the road in a similar environment to the Palouse. Very hostile crowd. A team that went 6-1 last year at home and beat Texas and Okie. Being the first game of the season (PSU doesn't count) I say the Ducks did pretty good.
  6. Thats a pretty sweet video. Whatching everyone on the sideline in slowmo on the Bassa pic was hilarious. Merle Haggard is an absolute Dude. But it don't matter what I think, think I'll just sit here and drink.
  7. Nor do I expect it. At surface level it almost sounds absurd. But for the last year, the obsurdaties of college football are at epic levels. Why stop now when they are on a roll.
  8. These teams in the Pac will be given benifit of doubt imo. I think many that make these decisions on ranking and CFP/bowl positions are as frustrated as the rest of us about the demise of the Pac. Many love traditions of college football an The depth of this conference is playing out in the ooc games. Just keep winning. I can see two loss pac teams playing in champ game. I can also see the CFP committee bucking the norms and placing a two loss Pac-12 champ in the CFP. They would face backlash for sure. But as good as this conference is, a two loss conf champ could/would still be one of the four best teams in the nation. You heard it here first. Don't be surprised if later in the year you hear it on College Game Day or Big Noon
  9. TT was playing incredibly fast. Oregon needs to get better at getting the play call in quicker
  10. I did read it. This thread is super toxic. I will leave my statement where they are but I regret commenting. It helps no one to litigate this on OBDF. We have courts for that. It would be better for OBDF if this story was never posted here. I have formed no opinion on guilt or innocence. This will be the last thing I say about it on OBDF. IMO, if the thread continues it will damage this forum. Just my opinion. Go Ducks
  11. Had a case of the dropseys yesterday also. Kinda overlooked but was pretty costly. Didn't have that issue last year. Hope its not an on going concern.
  12. Wow- alledged sexual harassment story convicts accussed through mass media one more time.
  13. I will reserve judgment till Tucker gets his day in court.
  14. Secondary played well. Minus the PI calls and a couple instances with poor tackling. Oregon schemed the pass and for the most part limited Shough. Shough stat line was 24/38 with 282yd, 3td, 3int, qbr 64.3. Shough ran a ton, 23 carries for 101yd. Ducks rushed 3 much of the night and Shough held the ball for a long time with nowhere to throw. When ducks rushed 4 or 5 there was pressure. Created 4 sacks and 3 int. Plus a strip sac recovered by Ducks. Ducks didn’t play great consistently on either side of the ball. Ducks played exceptional in key situations and thats what won the game.
  15. Expected. Bama wasn't dropping out of top 10. I can't argue with it. They have a history of elite. Deserve benefit of doubt 8 pac schools are top 26 with Cougs on the bubble
  16. On the flip side. When things get tough. When your backs against the wall and you are facing adversity. It's easy to lash out at the guy next to you. That didn't happen. The players remained calm and just focused on what is imediatly in front of them. Bad play happens for whatever reason. I don't think lack of respect was one of the reasons. These players and coaches hung together under duress. Thats respect. Trust grew under these conditions. Ducks weren't tested last week. Pretty easy win could have resulted in their lack of focus. They got humbled this week and still got the W. What a great opportunity to coach each other up. I think the Ducks learn from this and fix it.
  17. Here is a great example of how inconsistent the play was last night. This is back to back coments I made in live game feed. Looks like it was early in the 2nd Q maybe. Too funny not to share this bi polar moment. Both coming 1 min apart
  18. This is a difficult game to wrap your head around. It's going to be interesting to see how folks try to make sense of it all in the coming days. That's going to be a huge challenge. My initial response is beyond X's and O's, game plan, game management and play calling. Lubbock is a tough environment and Tech played hard. But Oregon came out unfocused and lost the mental game. Right out of the gate, penalty for equipment violation. Conerly with 3 false starts. 3 PI's, not hustling off the field and getting caught. Formation penalties, late hit. 14 penalties for 124 yards... wow! Thats on Coach. Thats lands squarely on Lanning. We will call out Stein and Lupoi. They hold some responsibility as part of the staff but Its hard to execute when mental preparation and focus is nonexistent. Hats off to TT and their fan base. They played determined and angry. But Lanning has to get this team better prepaired in the mental focus department. I found it interesting that Burch had zero tackles and Dorlus had one. Those are supposed to be the DUDES up front defensively. Ducks got man handled often in the trenches. Burch and Dorlus have got to be better than that. As bad as the D played at times. As much as they extended TT drives with bad penalties. The D came up with some huge plays. 4 sacks, 3 int and 2 forced fumbles. One being a strip sack and one a pick 6 to seal the victory. The O line has some work to do. Ducks bread and butter is the run game. O line struggled to open running lanes. I saw a couple cut back lanes but the backs failed to see them. TT had something to do with that and game planned taking Ducks rush attack away. On the bright side this was one of those games that sharpen teams. Develops grit. Shows teams what they are made of. Adversities can be a huge asset. Also will show us what kind of coach we have beyond X's and O's. Many said Tech could be a dark horse to win the Big12. They have some really good players. To go into a hostile environment and win ugly on the road is a huge accomplishment. From what I understand, it's especially difficult to do in Lubbock Texas. First things first. Get your head right Ducks. The performance mentally was atrocious. Thats on you Lanning, so fix it. Two 0's on the field for opening the game... sheesh. Went down hill from there. C'mon coach!
  19. Dilly has his Sun devils up at half.
  20. First time since 1990 TT starts season 0-2
  21. Mad respect for that environment in Lubbock. That is a great place to play. Rabid fan base. Think I heard TT had a 23 game winning streak in home openers. Now they have 0.
  22. There isn't a player alive that turns down that pick 6. Love the points and the W
