Agree on all points…..and mystified by the decision to open the 2nd half with Brock as the QB. I’m sure Dan will explain it, but I was shocked when he trotted out there.

Agreed…….this weekend will tell us a lot. Everything. Our season hinges on it.

DR is our QB for NEXT season. His performance Friday night was impressive. He throws a very catchable ball, with a quick release, and his accuracy is impressive. Before we get too excited … let’s not forget he was going against Portland State in a game the Ducks won 84-0. DM is our QB, but it’s comforting to know that we have a very capable backup.

I would be shocked if ANY 3 loss team made the playoffs. That’s why the USC game is a must win. (I’m anticipating a loss at Ohio State.)

I’m not sure that “getting it right” against Portland State will mean that much. The Ducks could play their backups for 60 minutes and win handily. Where they need to get it right is against USC. Right now that is the biggest game on their schedule. Win that one and their playoff hopes, while still precarious, remain a possibility…….and provide incentive to never again take the field and give less than 100 percent.

He left for more $$$, happens all the time. My recollection is that he was prepared to stay had Oregon met the offer from Texas.

In my brief, albeit cursory, search, I can find absolutely nothing supporting the claim that Indiana’s roster averages 24 years old. Maybe? There are a couple 25 year olds, or gasp, a 30 year old, but I find no evidence of that either.

Question….if he is a “ talented athlete,” why did he appear in just one game. We’re talking Oregon State here. Was he injured?

I don’t see it as a good call. Progressions? Was there time for that? It appears to me that Moore was going with the quick out as soon as he received the snap, never looked elsewhere, and the DB anticipated it. Great play.

Indiana’s rout of Oregon has me thinking they’ll hand it to Miami as well. Mendoza, who languished at Cal for three years, will have extra incentive (not that he needs it) going up against Miami. He’s a local kid who wanted to play for the Hurricanes, and they didn’t offer him a scholarship. After having won the Heisman, nothing would be sweeter for him than beating Miami on the biggest stage in college football …. In his hometown.

If there was anything close to highlight today it was the play of seldom used, transfer to be, Jay Harris. The kid stepped up, especially in the first quarter. Made me wonder why he didn’t get more opportunities in the regular season.
